I plan on getting my Droid X in August when I can use my $100 credit that is on my account. But I am worried about the data caps that Verizon is going to be putting in place sooner or later. About how much data are the majority of X users consuming per month? I know its about 5x more...I read that. but 5x more than what? i just want to be able to get a good plan with out just going for the one with the most data.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a new Droid (new verizon customer) last Friday. Twice now I have lost 3G downsignal only (which effectively means no data connection). To be clear, I still have the 3G signal icon on my phone, and all my apps are uploading data (according to the icon) however no data is being sent back down. I've tried waiting 10 minutes and tried going in and out of airplane mode (3G icon does come back after leaving airplane mode) however I still don't have downstream connection, only upstream.
The only way I have fixed this is to reboot the phone, which sucks. Has anyone had this issue? I'm not sure i'll be able to get a replacement (even with insurance) unless I can reproduce it in front of Verizon reps, so I'm not sure what I should do about it.
when I opened Handcent SMS on my phone, it came up with a white screen that I had assumed was just a bug, but after sending a text message,I realized that all of my previous messages had been lost or deleted for some reason. Absolutely nothing happened between last night and this morning that would have led me to expect such a result, and as you can imagine I'm pretty upset about the data loss. If you have any suggestions for steps to take, I would sincerely appreciate them. My phone is not rooted or anything of the sort if that changes anything. Also, I've been using SMS backup to back up to my gmail, but there are some longer texts that Handcent converts to MMS that were not backed up.

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I rooted my Moto Droid a few months back. Running 2.1 and all seemed well. I decided to trade it on Craigs List a couple of weeks ago. Before the exchange I did a factory reset. The guy I traded it to seemed honest and certainly didn't know much about hacking on the phone. Anyhow he told me he couldn't get a data connection (wifi did work though). He took it to a Verizon store and naturally they said it had been hacked and that was the problem.I traded him back (Palm Pre sucked anyway). I figured I could just get it back up and running. But I'm definitely only getting wifi connection. Market will NOT log me in no matter what.Any suggestions? Is the phone now dead?

I have a lot of stuff on autosync and i know i can turn that off using the power control widget but it seems that doesnt stop ALL data from transferring. I took the widget off the home screen and stopped the weather process and it just comes back anyway. So the weather process is still running in the background. It will fix itself if I reboot my phone, or turn it to airplane mode and then back to normal. Does anyone else experience this? Honestly it isn't annoying enough to replace my phone, just weird.
