Motorola Droid X :: App Data After Install Of A ROM Or Flashing An SBF

Oct 19, 2010

If I have apps on my sd card will the settings and data be there when I reinstall it after installing a rom or flashing an sbf? E.G. I have Angry Birds on my sd, will all the levels and stars stay the same once I reinstall it after I install ApeX ROM?

I have a Titanium Backup, do I need to backup before I install the ROM or is the data already on the sd card?

Motorola Droid X :: App Install After Flashing A ROM

Nov 8, 2010

After i bricked my phone on my first attempt to flash a ROM I waited a couple weeks. Today I successfully flashed ZapX and it seems to work. My question is: How long does it take for all of the apps to reinstall from the market? Is there a faster way?

Also: I dont remember if this rom is deodoxed or not. If not, is it safe to put 928 Blackglass on the phone with this ROM?

Motorola Droid X :: How To Set Factory Data To Install Froyo?

Aug 22, 2010

I removed a bunch of bloatware a couple weeks ago after I installed the one click root tool. Now I can't upgrade my phone to 2.2 with the update.zip file because I have removed the bloatware. I'm getting the Error 7 code. Is there any way that I can just restore this to the complete factory settings and automatically restore any bloatware so the 2.2 update will work?

Samsung Captivate :: Flashing Froyo 2.2 ROM / Hanging Up On Install

Oct 29, 2010

I'm trying to install the leaked official 2.2 froyo update (I897UCJI6-OCD-REV02-Low.exe) that I picked up from Cognition over on XDA but when I run the Odin one click downloader it hangs at <ID:0/006> Added!!
<ID:0/006> Odin v.3 engine (ID:6)..
<ID:0/006> File analysis..
<ID:0/006> Set PIT file..
<ID:0/006> DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET!!

I removed the battery and restarted and flashed the factory ATT ROM and that worked fine. Why this is just hanging up on install. Seems everyone else who's downloaded it had no trouble. I've tried the file direct from design gears and also the mirror on multiupload.

HTC EVO 4G :: Restoring Data After Flashing Rom

Oct 20, 2010

Just flashed with Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo. Went very smoothly. I used Titanium back up (free) and Astro file manager to back everything up.Take note this is my second time flashing a rom. First time went fine. I have restored all data and apps. Everything is restored perfectly except my text messages which i need the most. Don't worry i did a nandroid back up before even flashing. I thinking i did all the restoring correct. Whats the deal lol? I would hate to restore back to the android back up and redo the whole flashing process again. Any alternatives?

HTC EVO 4G :: Flashing To Old ROM - Option To Wipe All User Data

I'm flashing back to an old ROM. But I just want the exact state that I was in when I made the nandroid backup. In ClockworkMod Recovery, there's an option to wipe all user data. Is this what I should do, or is this a complete wipe of everything, including, say, root access, nand unlock, etc.? If so, what should I do otherwise?

Motorola Droid X :: Advantages To Flashing ROM

Nov 12, 2010

I root all my phones for various reasons, and have flashed ROM's before on the original Droid. On that device there were clear reasons to flash ROM's and since the community was ginormous, there was lots of information about the stability of various ROM's. So I'm new to the DroidX and wondering if there are any stable ROM's out that might be worth loading up (for fun and for performance boosts - not necessarily speed). I use my phone as a primary phone for work and home, so it has to be stable.

Motorola Droid :: Flashing BB 0.1 Via ROM Manager?

Jun 14, 2010

I've had my Droid for a while and finally decided to take the plunge and root it a few days ago. I had initially updated with a Simply Stunning 2.1 ROM, and it went well and was beautiful. I was tempted by the siren's call of Froyo, however, and decided to flash Bugless Beast 0.1 onto my Droid via ROM Manager. I've seen in multiple threads that this is supposed to have Flash and WiFi Tethering native, built into the ROM. Mine, however, did not seem to install these features.

Are there multiple "BB 0.1" releases, and could ROM Manager have grabbed one that did not have these features? I've already grabbed a program to do the WiFi tethering, but Flash is one of the things I had heard worked with this release. Should I reflash the phone? I'm hoping to avoid that as I ended up using Metamorph to apply a really nice theme for it, but I didn't think to check for Flash until I was on a site that uses it and it didn't work.

Motorola Droid :: Proper ROM Flashing

Got my ROM flashed for the first time courtesy of DroidReview on YouTube and more than a few of you on here. But in the vid there was never a mention of wiping the cache and/or partition while in nandroid. I seem to recall that somewhere else on here. Can someone tell me if you're supposed to wipe the cache/partition from nandroid before flashing a new ROM? If so, why (or why not)?

Motorola Droid :: Flashing But Not Wiping

Apr 21, 2010

I rooted and became, as many of the rest of you have, addicted to flashing new ROMS. I get the feeling that this addiction will need to be fed more and more as leaks of 2.2 start poking out since it is now rumored to be coming. However, this causes an issue for me. My company was very reluctant to let me move away from the blackberry and to the Droid and have recently decided that I have to use the Goodlink Enterprise app for email. If/when I do a data/cache wipe because I've changed ROMS I cannot re-activate the email without my IT department generating a new PIN for me.

Motorola Droid X :: SBF - Dreaded Failed Flashing Process

I am trying to use RSD Lite to SBF to 2.2 OTA but it keeps on giving me the dreaded Failed flashing process. Failed flashing process. (0x7100); phone connected. I am running Windows 7 x64 and have the latest Moto drivers installed (4.7.1) and am running RSD Lite 4.8. I put my phone in bootloader mode and connected my USB. It is showing iup in port 1, but I am also getting a lot of N/A values. Is this normal?

IMEI/ESN/MEID: N / A
Technology: N / A
Software Version: N / A
Flex Version: N / A
Bootloader Version: v0x003001
DRM Version: N / A

I choose the SBF file and click start and it immediately gives me that error message. Very frustrating.

Motorola Droid :: Flashing Different ROMs - Kernals Onto Phone

Jul 25, 2010

I just put Froyo 2.2 on my Moto Droid using this ROM: http://androidforums.com/roms-droid/127966-rom-stable-android-2-2-frg01-clean-untouched-virgin.html

And I used the 800mHz kernal found here:

How To: Get Android 2.2 (Froyo) On Your Motorola Droid Right Now! | TheUnlockr

I am experiancing a few freezing problems and bad start ups, but I am assuming these kind of surprises come with flashing different ROMs/kernals onto your phone. I noticed, however, that occasionally my screen will get really "twitchy" e.g. when I press a key on the android on screen keyboard it types the letter 4 times. or when i drag the notifications bar down half way and keep my finger still i can see the bar twitch up and down rapidly. I have heard from several review sites that twitchiness and stuttering usually have to do with the processing, which made me think of the kernal change. Does this mean i picked a bad kernal or a bad speed? If i get this twitching does it mean get a faster kernal or a slower kernal?
