Lots of people underestimated Apple and thought Android phones were ahead of the game. Judging by this video, it seems like a tie if not Apple has the race still won. I mean, the fluidness of iPhone is just amazing, which honestly makes it look more intriguing.

However, there are supposed to be more (from my research), but none of the following is working:
"Call <contact> mobile/work/home/etc" to call that contact
"Dial <number> " to dial the number
Has anyone discovered any other working voice commands?

Google has released a Search by Sight application using the camera to detect and search! Search By Sight With Google Goggles. Unfortunately the fine print reads "Available on phones that run Android 1.6+ (i.e. Donut or Eclair)" so we'll have to wait until the 2010 update that @HTC promised. Still pretty exciting technology here! Maybe by the time we get it, the bugs will be worked out. It's a labs product still after all.

Being more specific I wanna give the user the ability to search for keywords, use the Gdata api to search for products within googleproducts for these keywords and parse the xml that I get back. I know how to parse xml files via an org.xml.sax.helpers.DefaultHandler but I guess that I am not suppose to use such a Handler but rather rely on the Gdata api to parse the xml for me. My Problem is that I dont know how to integrate the api in my App. There is a similiar topic within stackoverflow (hier) but I am not at all satisfied with the answer they gave. Just giving someone the information to "look at our recently announced version 2.1.0-alpha of the GData Java library which supports Android" doesnt quite help me to integrate gdata in my app. I would very appreciate if someone could give a step-by-step guide how to integrate the gdata api within my app, including code examples to make a search-request and parsing back the results from google products.

I'm running Cyanogenmod 6. I just noticed that I can't find Google voice or Google maps in the market. I do have the apps installed, but can't see them int he market to get updates. I tried out LFY1.7 and Ultimate Droid 1.0.0, and see the same issue.

I'm not sure who the attorneys for Verizon are, but Google must have done some deft negotiations to be able to pull this off. They just shafted Motorala, Verizon - and us - in the butt. I'm pretty sure, post Christmas, Droid updates and fixes will become non-existent as Google focuses on their own offering. Google is indeed Microsoft with a crayola logo.
