When I go to add the Messaging widget, it shows all of my email accounts except for GMail. Why would I not be able to add GMail notifications to this messaging widget?

When I use the messaging and people widget the contact pictures don't show but under my contact list it shows the pictures. So im wondering if you guys have any solutions. Also under the social networking logo widget when I resize it it doesn't show the text, only a blurry picture. So im wondering if you guys have any solutions?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhenever I go into Gmail (I do not have push notification on, just check it every once in a while) it will say at the top "Inbox (2)", but then says "No Conversations" in the middle of the screen where it is supposed to list all the emails in my Inbox. I know that there are two in there because they are there whenever I check Gmail on my computer.I looked for an option in the Gmail settings in case it only shows unread mail, but can't find anything.If I navigate to a different label, it will show all the emails in them, just not the Inbox.It started out OK, but I just noticed it a day or so ago doing this.My father was messing around with my phone the other day, and I'm wondering if he did something?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Droid was acting up a bit today. It was really laggy today so I did a battery pull, after which it was fine. Then tonight on the way home I got an email, read it, and the notification went away, but in my Gmail it still showed "Inbox (1)" but the email showed as read. I synced it twice, but it stayed the same way. When I got home tonight, I logged on to my email and it showed the email as unread. I just downloaded Twidroid Pro and Google Goggles, so I'm wondering which of these is the culprit.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI was trying to call my brothers cell. I have called him before on my droid and texted him. However, I just noticed He is not in my contacts!
I goto my gmail account, I have 193 names there, including his, but on my phone I only have 183!
However, when I dialed his number, his name popped up!
Where are these contacts, and why aren't they syncing? If I do a search for his name on my phone, it does not show up either. This is a critical issue!
I went to my gmail account and 'touched' his name, changed his address from road to rd. Forced a sync, but still it doesn't show on my phone. I have my phone set to show 'all other contacts' , which is the group on my gmail account.
I changed my password on Gmail, and my Eris now cannot log in to my account. I cannot find anywhere on the phone with an option to change or update the password.

But there is one thing that is bugging me.
When opening messaging and viewing a message and then pressing the HOME button. And after wards launching the messaging app again it defaults to showing me the last sms I have seen.
So I would like that whenever I launch messaging it would always start in the view all messages.
The only solution I have found thus far is by using a task killer. Which would auto kill 'messages' when not in use.
So I installed Advanced Task Killer and set it to kill messaging when the screen is OFF. But it just does not work.
I have contacts saved on my sim and I transferred them to my phone but now it shows two of every contact. I was able to fix this on the contacts page because there is an option on what to show but when I go from messaging/compose/contacts, it still shows two of each. Anyone know how to fix this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought the SNES emulator from market on my moto Droid. I then went to romhustler and downloaded 3 games. I made a folder for them and put them on my phone. I then pull up the snes emu the hit load rom, then clicked on the folder with my 3 downloaded games in it and it says folder empty. what am I doing wrong? I went to astrofile thingy and hit the zipped files to extract but when it hit extract nothing happens. Can anyone help me out?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having SAMSUNG GALAXY S ADVANCE GT- I9070.I have upgraded my OS to Jelly Bean 4.1.2, but I am encountering many problems like freezing of screen, high RAM usage, games not running as expected, etc.
I want to get this problem rectified by re-installing the firmware, but there is no option in SAMSUNG KIES showing Re- Install the firmware..Is there any other way to get this problem rectified??
I was able to successfully configure the stock email app on my android phone (Samsung Captivate). However when I went to "Email check frequency" in the settings to enable push, it did not allow me to do so. According to Android, there is an option in this setting called "Automatic (push)" other than polling options. In my case I just had polling options like "5 mts", "10 mts", "Never", and so on. But I don't have the "automatic push" option!
I checked in with my system admin. He said that they have enabled push from their end. In fact, we are on the corporate email of Google apps. So it is like a gmail except that it has my corporate email address. So this should have been a piece of cake, no?

In settings I have found now two options:
1. Show archive, delte or both in buttun bar
2. Enable Swipe to xxxx
where in option 2 xxx changes depending on the value for option 1:
- if 1 = archive then xxx = archive
- if 1 = delete then xxx = delete
- if 1 = both then xxx = archive (!!!)
The above makes no snese at all....
My users are asking me to make one of my apps into a widget. Is there a way to ask if they want a widget in app and then add the widget to their home screen? I am having a tough time finding this on Google.
Edit: Is there add a widget option to an existing app or do I have to have to write a whole new program?
I linked my gmail with my phone and ended up with so many contacts from random emails that its rediculous. Old craigslist ads are now in my contact list.I would like to have a contact with their mobile, home, emails, etc as one contact not 3,4 or 5.Also, I selected which ones I wanted before the link and I ended up will all of them.Finally, the people widget would be great if you didnt have to select a default action. I might text the same person alot but how do I call or email them from the widget if they have a default command?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have contact groups that I use in the desktop gmail client to send messages to distribution lists without any issues. Those groups get synced to my android contacts and I can see them in the groups tab. However, neither gmail nor any sms app that I have tried actually use these contact groups for anything.
Am I missing some setting for this to work or is this not implemented in android?
I just got my Inc and was going through the Gmail settings and saw a setting for "sync 4 days" and was wondering what that meant? Does it only keep 4 days of mail on my phone?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've seen the video for the Nexus One handling multiple Gmail accounts, that's fantastic, but what it does not show me, and what is killing me about my Eris, is that there is no "Reply As" drop down menu like there is in the regular Gmail app for Desktop OS. Ex. I have 3 email accounts (Hotmail, Work and Gmail) that I have setup on my Eris. Currently, the only one getting pushed to my phone is Gmail, which means that the other two are constantly polling for messages and causing a drain of battery, not to mention the hassle of having to enter into different mailboxes, apps to retrieve mail. I would love to be able to have my Gmail pop those other accounts and label them accordingly so that I can receive all my mail via Push from Gmail, saving on battery and making email management on my phone much easier.
However, this is not a possibility for me simply because I need to be able to Reply As the account that the msg was originally sent. Ex. Someone sends an email to my work email, and I'm on the road. I need to reply as me@work.com, not me@gmail.com. That would be really confusing to the sender, not to mention unprofessional for me. I've read some work arounds where some people have Gmail setup the way i described above, but also have their sep mail accounts setup on their phone w/ the Auto Polling set to manual. That way, they can manage their email in Gmail, but if they need to reply to one from a specific account, they open up the Mail for that account, manually refresh and find the msg and reply. Also, the built-in Mail apps have no ability to do batch operations such as "Mark as read" or "Delete all" functionaility, GMail does.
So, I can't be pumping through 30 emails a day w/o this feature. I'm doing it now on my Eris and trust me, it's more work that it's worth. I'm not one of those people that can just leave the Mail Icon sitting there with a number on it. It has to go away. Otherwise, I don't know if/when another email comes in. It could be important. This is especially important to me because I'm an IT Professional, and, not only do I need to get my email in a timely manner (Push is instant and therefore ideal), but I need to be able to reply as such. I've been looking at alternatives, but this seems to be the only/best way, and I'm really hoping that it's built-in to Gmail on Android 2.1, like it is on the Desktop OS version.
Quick question - why won't the standard message widget (the "stack" of messages type) show any names, just numbers? The numbers are saved to my contacts etc etc and are on both the sim and phone.
Other than checking the numbers against my contacts or by the content I've no idea who's sending me messages.
