View 2 RepliesI know I mentioned this in another thread, but I got to thinking about it. My return date is coming up (extended holiday return period) and I wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem or if it was in fact my phone and I should swap it out. My phone is placing my location in places I haven't traveled to or haven't been to in a long time. It is usually placing me ~200-300 miles away from my current location. I'm in Dallas, TX. Occasionally I'll unlock my phone and the HTC weather widget will say I'm in Dustin, Houston, San Antonio, and even once in Florida. Now, I can go into Google maps and let it find my location and it is very accurate. If I give it time the weather app will correct itself, but then later when I unlock my phone it will have done it again. I've tried using the weather channel app and widget and a few others. They are all having the same problem as they pull the same GPS data. Is this a problem with my GPS chip? I've done a bunch of soft resets, pulled the battery while the phone was off and let it sit for a few, pulled the battery while the phone was on and let it sit. Nothing seems to be helping. I just turned my phone off and back on and sure enough it reports I'm in san Antonio.

I just wanted to pass this along; You can take it for a grain of salt, but I came away impressed. I decided to make a call to HTC (the number is on their page, if you go to Support and "Hotline" the number is there) to discuss a few of the hardware/software issues that I, as well as others on the board have been experiencing. First off, my wait time was about 3 minutes. Very short, so that was a good start. I spoke to a representative named Jonathan (a woman). The topics I asked about:
1. Why Gmail messages do not show up in the "People" application under the contact's card who sent the email.
2. Some questions that I had about managing memory and the best way to exit a program.
3. The clock widget displaying incorrect time, and the new issue that appeared with the clock today (possibly brought about by some DST error).
4. What happens when you "Clear Data" from the RAM using the "Manage Application" menu.
I began the conversation, which lasted about 40 minutes, asking about the Gmail issue (#1) as that was my biggest query, but added on the others as the conversation went on. She did not know exactly what I was talking about, as she hadn't heard that complaint before. Instead of just saying, "uhhhh, yea, I don't know what to say" or try to spout off some half-assed solution only to get me off the phone, she actually took the time to look in some of their documentation, and when coming up empty, grabbed a new phone, set it up and tried to replicate the issue. At no point in our conversation did she sound like she was saying stuff just to "get by" or end the call. She actually sounded as if she cared......
I'm not sure if it works on other devices I'm using an OV running cai. you won't need any messaging app other than stock. So go into your stock messaging app, and hit the menu button. Go into settings, and find emojis support, and check that. Then right above that (on my phone) check the option that says Unicode support. These options both are under extra settings!
Now to get the emojis go your messaging, go into a new message or one that your already talking to (your girl , hit the menu button and it gives the option the insert smiley's and the option to insert emojis! The rest is easy
online....(twitter, insta, fb, etc) why can't Emoji be cracked for Android? We have custom roms...themes...pirates...etc but no simple emojis hahahaha why is this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedLoving the desire and android 2.2.
But there is one thing that is bugging me.
When opening messaging and viewing a message and then pressing the HOME button. And after wards launching the messaging app again it defaults to showing me the last sms I have seen.
So I would like that whenever I launch messaging it would always start in the view all messages.
The only solution I have found thus far is by using a task killer. Which would auto kill 'messages' when not in use.
So I installed Advanced Task Killer and set it to kill messaging when the screen is OFF. But it just does not work.

I went back to my stock ROM and found that the GPS was working fine. On reading some threads about similar problems, i tried downloading AGPS data but that too did not work. I also flashed a AGPS Fix for HTC One X ver3.1 but that too didn't work.
I want to change the icons on cm10 but without using a different launcher. I use Desktop Visualizer but it doesnt change the icon anywhere other than the homescreen. I actually just want to add my own icons into the apk while keeping the stock theme.
