Im having some trouble watching some movies on my hdtv, i converted the movie from avi to mp4 using handbrake converter and am only getting sound but no picture. has any1 experienced this issue?

Picked up my HTC EVO on the 4th, and had Sprint order me the HDMI cable. Came last night. Tried to hook it up to my 37" 08' Samsung LCD HDTV, but was only getting AUDIO through to the TV, no VIDEO? I tried all three HDMI outlets on my LCD HDTV but got the same result on each one? Anyone know whats going on here? Anyone else experience this? Anyone have success trying to do what I was trying to do?

I've got a Razr Maxx that I'm looking at replacing and was looking at the new Droid Maxx but I'm concerned about the lack of HDMI out. I'm a boater and have a TV on my boat. I connect my Razr Maxx to my TV with a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable and watch Netflix when I'm on the. I'd hate to give that up but also realize that my Maxx won't last forever.
Any new phones that do have HDMI out?
I'm trying to find out if anyone has tried to use Evo + Slingplayer + mini hdmi cable and hooking up to a tv? Any success?

Can anyone explain how this works and how I can set this up? I'm hoping you guys have experience with DLNA. For some reason I thought DLNA was only available to Samsung TVs.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWould like to have EASY capability and not the need for anything bulky to take the screen on a PC / Laptop / Tablet and share that onto a HDTV or Projector for group projects in an office setting. Tablet is not a must but would be nice to be able to do going forward. So the idea would be someone who show an idea from their Laptop and plug in something of a USB device or could be software based but that is not preferred option. The project then could be sent to HDTV or Projector via possible wireless casting device. Have looked into various devices but hoping for some feedback from someone who has set this type of room up. Additional notes would the HDTV or Projector would NOT be connected to any server or PC we want it to be done wireless directly from the PC / Laptop / Tablet and screen shared directly to the HDTV / Projector.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently switched to ADW Launcher the other day and purchased Better Cut and some Icon Packs. At the bottom of my screen, I made one of the shortcuts for my sms/mms messages and the other my internet browser. The sms icon should be a mushroom from the Mario Icon Pack and the browser is the fake Chrome icon. When I first put them on they, they looked fine. After about a day they both turned... umm... ghosty? Just like the button that opens the icon drawer. Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone could help me make these two icons go back to the way they were. I'm also open to any other tips and tricks for ADW, Better Cut, Better Keyboard, etc.I would love to be able to take screen shots as well, but for the life of me I have not been able to as of yet.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Ubuntu 8.10 box with everything including Eclipse working perfectly, both the emulator and USB connection to my ADP1... works perfectly!
But I decide to inflict Vista on myself by attempting to get Eclipse and ADT working on my Vista laptop.
I set up Vista with Eclipse and installed the Android plug-in... but... the only thing NOT working is the USB connection using the exact same USB cable to the exact same ADP1.
Everything including the emulator is just fine, but no USB to ADP1.

And to top it all off, the Device Manager shows the ADP1 sdcard as a USB mass storage device. but won't let me install the USB driver over the Microsoft version.
I searched and cannot find an answer for this: I have not been to a hotel with a TV with an HDMI input, they typically have the red/white/yellow inputs. Is there a cable that is micro HDMI on one end and the three on the other end? I realize it won't be HDMI quality, but i could at least put movies up on the TV from my phone.

It's all set up fine, I can send emails from it (have tested this too) - the only, somewhat major problem!, is that it says my inbox has 'No Mail' regardless of how many times I refresh the page. I am having problems getting videos to play on my HTC Desire. I have converted my .avi files into Mpeg4 so as the device could read them ok. I'm using the free programme 'Handbrake' to convert the files. And it does so with no problems. The new mpeg4 files play with sound and image.
The problem occurs when I transfer the images onto the phones SD card. The video files are picked up via the camera folder (where you can play videos as there is no actual video player) as well as on the video player app I downloaded today - 'mVideoPlayer', without any problems but when I click to play the video the screen is black and only the sound works (even though on my pc the file played fine).
Do I need to download a codec or something? I would have thought that as the Desire was compatible with mpeg4 files that it would play them straight off without having to add software.

View 3 Replies View RelatedUneasily, I allowed the latest Mixzing update to install. I just had a feeling I shouldn't but was responding to a text when I received the prompt. Immediately afterward, I found that sound files (mp3s, etc.) would suddenly quit after playing for thirty or forty seconds. I hastily uninstalled Mixzing, only to find that every music player I try now produces the same result. Has anyone else experienced this? How would you go about troubleshooting without reverting to your last backup, if possible?
View 3 Replies View RelatedVoice playback is basically shot. It plays back completely broken up and muffled with mostly static and crackling. It's to the point that it has to be broken, it's so bad, you can't even make a single word out. I have tried every which way of speaking into it and it is not a poor quality issue, I believe it is just not functioning properly. Phone calls and music playback are excellent and voice recognition is fine but voice playback is broken. I am wondering if it's the SD card since that is where it saves.

I bought a micro HDMI cable, and it works great when I play videos that I have recorded. However, I am not able to play movies and TV shows that I download and play with Rock Player. I've tried a bunch of file formats, and I haven't been able to play any of my own videos without Rock Player. That doesn't really matter to me as it still works fine. But, I would like to be able to plug in the HDMI cable and play a movie on a TV, but when I try, it just plays on the phone screen.
