I'm fairly new with my Droid X. How do I display Gmail chat?
Apparently, friends can see that I'm logged onto my Gmail and message me, which pops up like a text message. But I can't figure out how to see whose online or start a conversation.

how to build chat conversation from the start build in eclipse, may u show me because i'm try to build one of that application....
i'm want to ask about how to inviting people to the chat room, or how to add people to be the contact in our app, how to see how many people still online in our app, how to broadcast the send message to our chat room in our app, and how to create admin which can invite or kick people in that chat room..
How do you find it on your phone? I can only use it when people message me, but I can't find it.

Every time I get an email on gmail the same email also goes into gmail conversation. Is there a way to remove this so I don't have to go into both just to read the same email? View 3 Replies View RelatedI noticed last night that the messages on Gmail on my phone weren't matching that of online, evening after forcing another sync. It's basically missing one conversation of (12) emails.I then checked using a desktop client and also installed K-9 on the phone and they both matched what was on Gmail online complete with the missing conversation. However, Gmail on my phone is missing the whole conversation, but has everything else. Any idea's why it'll just miss this one conversation? When I complete a search in Gmail on the phone for content from the conversation, it finds it, but it's just not in my Inbox?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a new Rogers HTC Magic. When I check my Gmail I can only view the last message in the conversation. None of the preceding messages in the same conversation can be viewed. The screen only displays the first few words of the prior message. When I click on those words nothing happens. The only way I can view the previous messages is to press menu and then select "mark unread". Is there no other way of viewing the other previous messages in the same conversation?

I know it can be done because the built-in notifications send you to a message when you click on them and there's an app on the market called Gmail Notifier which does it as well.
What I've tried so far:
-send an ACTION_VIEW intent with the message URI as data (failed - cannot resolve URI)
-send an intent to open HtmlConversationActivity in the Gmail package (failed - "requires permission: null")
Would it help to add flags or a category to the intent? If so, which one(s)?
I know that the Gmail app is not well-documented, but it drives me mad that there is definitely a way to do it and I just can't figure it out!
P.S.: This is the first time I'm posting on stackoverflow, so I apologise in advance if I have ignored any conventions.
I can't wait for M$ to pull the trigger on hotmail activesync. Currently I am using gmail. If I want to delete a message it sends the entire "conversation" to trash.
Is there a way to delete single messages in a conversation? Sometimes I just want to keep the original, most important email but don't need all the replies that go back and forth.
Currently I go into gmail web version to delete single messages in a thread but that's a PITA.
My parents have recently started using a Samsung Galaxy tablet. I believe it is a tab 1. They have created a gmail account for their email and are getting on fine with the gmail app except that they can't figure out how to access the earlier conversations that are grouped together in a thread. I'm an Apple MacBook user. I have googled 'expand conversations.

I want to delete that singular draft message, but I see no way of doing it, short of deleting the entire conversation or going to a computer to do it. (Come to think of it, I don't see a way to delete any of the emails within a conversation). Am I missing something on how to delete a single email within a conversation?
2) on an email thread, when I hit "previously read messages", it shows the messages in oldest to newest order, meaning I have to scroll all the way to the bottom to see the latest emails from a conversation. Is there a way to change the sort?

I mean, if I go into "settings -> close all chats" it doesn't really do anything because if I go back and tap on someone's name, the entire conversation I just had is still there. Is there anyway to delete an entire gchat conversation like you can do with text message threads/conversations?

It's E Business Group (602) and the are calling for Anthony which is the wrong number, but as soon as I even start to ask to be taken off their list they say "Sorry for bothering you" and hang up so quick I can't even get the words out.
Is anyone else having problems with handcent? It wont open the menus to customize the conversation list or the bubble settings, and sometimes the app itself doesn't even open. Does the app just need updated, or is there a problem with ny phone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have found this forum very helpful, but can't find my issue anywhere. I just recently switched to the Droid X from an Omnia i910 (verizon) and love it! I used SMS Exporter (WM) and SMSBackup (android) to copy all of my SMS over. It worked perfectly; however, when i view a conversation my text box displays "A valid address is required to send this message". I am unable to type anything to text. If I open a new message and send it to the same contact, it updates in the conversation. When I open the conversation the error is still there.
I used the method from: here to do the SMS transfer.
I have also verified that all my contact names match up, and this issue effects all of my messages.
My nephew sees me on google chat when I have my phone on and can send me chat messages that show up as a notification where the heck is this program on the evo? They are coming across as IM's and I can reply back but if I clear the notification, for the life of me I can't find the app on the phone that is doing this? How are these IM's getting to me and what app can I open up to reply? I do not want to just be able to drop down the notifications to reply I want to use te app. Again these are NOT SMS messages these are actual IM's.
