I'm still getting used to using gchat but how do I close/delete a gchat conversation? I mean, if I go into "settings -> close all chats" it doesn't really do anything because if I go back and tap on someone's name, the entire conversation I just had is still there. Is there anyway to delete an entire gchat conversation like you can do with text message threads/conversations?

I'm a new Droid X user. I love the phone so far, but have a question about text messaging. In particular, it appears I cannot delete individual texts withing a conversation. There has to be a way I'm just missing yes?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI dislike G Mail because of the threading and it is SLOW but it would appear to be the only email client on android that can forward html so I'm stuck with it. How in the world do you delete an individual message of a conversation without deleting the entire conversation? When I expand a conversation, the messages have reply, reply all and forward at the bottom of the message but no delete. The delete button at the bottom of the screen (between archive and older) only wants to delete the whole conversation. What am I missing?

I can't wait for M$ to pull the trigger on hotmail activesync. Currently I am using gmail. If I want to delete a message it sends the entire "conversation" to trash.
Is there a way to delete single messages in a conversation? Sometimes I just want to keep the original, most important email but don't need all the replies that go back and forth.
Currently I go into gmail web version to delete single messages in a thread but that's a PITA.
Is there any way to delete the whole conversation you have had with someone? Its pretty frustrating to have to go into a conversation and delete a whole bunch of messages one by one.

I want to delete that singular draft message, but I see no way of doing it, short of deleting the entire conversation or going to a computer to do it. (Come to think of it, I don't see a way to delete any of the emails within a conversation). Am I missing something on how to delete a single email within a conversation?
2) on an email thread, when I hit "previously read messages", it shows the messages in oldest to newest order, meaning I have to scroll all the way to the bottom to see the latest emails from a conversation. Is there a way to change the sort?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI live in Indiana so one person is needs to know. I only need an app that will run on the Droid X now. I have reported it to the FCC, and they said to get a recording of the call and as much information as possible.
It's E Business Group (602) and the are calling for Anthony which is the wrong number, but as soon as I even start to ask to be taken off their list they say "Sorry for bothering you" and hang up so quick I can't even get the words out.
Is anyone else having problems with handcent? It wont open the menus to customize the conversation list or the bubble settings, and sometimes the app itself doesn't even open. Does the app just need updated, or is there a problem with ny phone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have found this forum very helpful, but can't find my issue anywhere. I just recently switched to the Droid X from an Omnia i910 (verizon) and love it! I used SMS Exporter (WM) and SMSBackup (android) to copy all of my SMS over. It worked perfectly; however, when i view a conversation my text box displays "A valid address is required to send this message". I am unable to type anything to text. If I open a new message and send it to the same contact, it updates in the conversation. When I open the conversation the error is still there.
I used the method from: here to do the SMS transfer.
I have also verified that all my contact names match up, and this issue effects all of my messages.

Apparently, friends can see that I'm logged onto my Gmail and message me, which pops up like a text message. But I can't figure out how to see whose online or start a conversation.

1. What exactly is "freezing" an app? Will it remove the app from the app drawer? Will it just prevent it from running?
2. Can I use Titanium backup to delete apps that are safe for delete like amazon.mp3, etc?
3. If I "freeze" an app like backup assistant will it still be on the phone so that it doesn't brick if I do a reset?
4. Can I delete or freeze things like crap ringtones so they don't show up when I am setting a ringtone?
When I delete emails for gmail on my phone, will they delete online also?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I got my Evo replaced last Friday due to screen separation issues that led to touch screen issues. My old Evo had no issues staying connected to Gchat using the Talk app.
However, this Evo seems to keep disconnecting whenever my screen turns off, and even when i reconnect, it may take up to 15 minutes to recieve messages. I have played with some settings but nothing seems to make a difference. I know this is a know issue on a lot of Android devices, but it seems to be random. I have searched and searched, and found no solution to this issue.
Any news regarding whether we can video conference with a PC or Mac using our EVO? gChat? iChat? Skype? My understanding is that qik will not do this - it will only be evo-to-evo or evo-to-web, is that true?

I Obviously have a Driod Eris, I use ChompSmS for my basic texting needs. (Love the phone BTW) I have had this phone for 3 months, so I am not a noob to it.
Basically I have a few conversations that I would like to forward to say an email address, I know you can forward each individual message, but I would like to do the entire thing. Is there any way to do this? Or is there an APP out there that can do this?
I talked with a VZW tech just a few minutes ago.I described her the silent bug problem on 2.1.She said she is a Droid user and her daughter has an Eris.She said she had frequent freezeup on her Droid and now she reccomends to do one reboot every day. She says she had not had a problem since she has been doing this.She made a mark on my file about my complain and recommended to try the once-a-day reboot for a week. If the problem persists, the store will issue a new phone.I will try this reboot thing each night, will see how it goes.I am a bit worried about the exchange they perhaps would give me a refurb, and what is the guarantie that I won't end up with the same problem.

Someone sent me an email on Facebook that also showed up in my Inbox for my Comcast email account and I cannot get rid of THAT email! I have gotten and deleted up to 200-300 emails since then from facebook and that stupid email remains in my inbox! When I try to click on and open the troubled email, my stock email on the phone force closes! I cleared the cache, thinking that was part of the problem and that did nothing for me. The email was a notification for an event. I was able to delete it on my facebook account and its not showing up anywhere else but on my phone's email account. Its kinda like it IS deleted but for some weird reason its still showing up.
