I've been sending SMS messages just fine, however recently I tried sending a text message to two contacts, and one of them never received anything. However when trying to send a message to that same person only, it worked fine.

I've been using Handcent since I've had my Desire, but since the last few updates it seems to have developed a fault when sending the same sms message to multiple contacts. If I send a message to say 3 people, it either force closes, or comes up with the error message not sent. If it comes up with the latter, the messages are queued & sent 1 after the other. I was able to do this no problem before, so has anyone else experienced this in Handcent?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is an odd problem I have. When I reboot my phone, it sends only a select few people previous text messages I've sent them. The only program I can see that could be causing it is SMS Pop Up, but I don't know if that is a culprit or has been known to do that. My girlfriend who was sitting next to me started getting text messages. She received about 13 instantly from me that she previously received from me.Can anyone decipher this dilemma?

There you go. And remember,once you have deleted them, they are STILL in your memory and retrievable.

I don't know what the problem is, but for some reason I've been getting like 5-10 duplicates of text messages from some people. It's usually different people at different times and it's on various carriers.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI don't know if anyone else tried/got this message but I have the stock messaging app and accidentally sent over the 160 character limit and instead of getting the verizon message that says it only sends the first 160 characters to non-verizon customers. I got a message that read "messages sent to non-verizon customers over 160 characters are sent as plain text in multiple segments". Looks like verizon is now splitting text messages for us. Just thought I would pass this along to everyone. Only problem I have seen so far is every time you go over the 160 limit verizon sends you that message every single time kinda gets annoying.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor example last night I went swimming. After my swim I got out and texted my friend "Hey man I'm done swimming, whats up"? Today I check my phone and I see that the same message got sent again randomly. I did not send the text again but somehow my phone re-sent that text, and literally Erased the original message that I sent myself.
Same thing happened the other night - I sent a text apologizing to a friend that I couldn't hang out with her. The next day the text got re-sent to her somehow, and she responded with "what are you talking about?". I was like "Idk wtf happened my phone is randomly re-sending texts to people". What's going on? I don't think this ever happened before the latest software update.
There are several contacts that do not appear when I try and send them a text I have to go to contacts and do it that way, but that won't work when I want to send to multiple people.

I've read about text message issues on the Hero, but so far not anything about the Eris yet. Hopefully it was just a 1-time fluke up until then it's been working perfectly for 3 days now, and its working perfectly fine again now.

Then all a sudden when i went back to text someone else my whole thread was gone and all my messages had been deleted. Then I try using the stock messaging app and obviously all my threads are deleted but messages send twice, any suggestions?

There, I will access the field to enter an email address that I want to send the photo to. If I have multiple people to send it to, do I have to type in each individual address, or is there a way to access my contact list somewhere so I can simply go through and select/click recipients?
I successfully updated to the official Vodafone release using SEUS, loving the update so far but I've come across a problem with text messages.
Every couple of text messages they won't send and instead I get the message cannot be sent error. Trying repeated times has the same results then all of a sudden it will randomly work.
It can't be down to bad signal, last time the error came up I had full 'H' signal.
I also tried Handcent to see if using an app would make any difference but it didnt.
within the last month sending picture messages has become a joke. It takes like an hour almost all the time and sometimes they wont send at all. Anyone know whats going on with this? Regular texts work perfectly.

I use the same translator and it sends the SMS in English only. I am wondering if this is an issue with the app, the phone or is this the way the phone works.

So.....I did send out 100+ messages within like 5 minutes...just sending out a mass txt message letting people know of my new number. So is this Androids way of anti-spam?

What class can we use to send a text message? I tried this on the emulator, 2.0:

And that works ok. On my G1 running 1.5, I get a verify error, guessing because SmsManager is not available in 1.5. Maybe for 1.5 we need to use the deprecated class?:
android.telephony.gsm.SmsManager
Is that correct, or is there some other class we're supposed to use for sending text messages?
Will we ever be able to send more than 10 recipients to the same text message?Setting up "Groups" works well in the "People" app but sending the text to only 10 of them is unacceptable.

I miss my blackberry in this respect, it would wait until it DID have signal and then would automatically resend. Is there any way to set this phone up so it automatically resends when I get signal back? I do get it sometimes where it says that its saving the texts until signal is rereached, however, lets say I get one bar back, well the phone "sees" that Im getting signal, tries to send, and then fails, and then calls it a day....
