So I rooted my x. Deodex, new theme.. Now I can't install apps from marketplace. Anyone know the remedy?
It will download, but a message in the notification bar reads: "installation of.....unsuccessful".

Not sure if I did anything wrong, but after I rooted and installed LFY1.5 smoke I cannot seem to get the marketplace to work. I can start it and browse and download but it has a forceclose error at app install. This happened.s for every install.Has anyone else run into this issue?

View 20 Replies View RelatedI finally (after some trouble) rooted my Captivate earlier today. Since then, I have not been able to download any apps from the Android Marketplace, either paid or free.
The apps get to the stage of "Starting Download" but just wind up hanging there infinitely.
Is it likely that something occurred during or indirectly related to the rooting itself that's caused this problem, or is this just as likely coincidental?
I just installed this widget but cannot get any of the customizable skins to install. Everytime I try, it says "install failed"....any suggestions?

busybox
su
Superuser.apk
To somewhere else other then at /sdcard? If so, where can I put them so everything till works?
Rooted my droid X using the one click method, and since doing that I can't download ANYTHING from the android marketplace. all that happens is that I get the orange triangle icon in the task bar that says "Program A" can't download.
I have 'unrooted' my phone using the same method and nothing seems to help. I also read that there was a link to google talk and that I would need to log into google talk's app and it would be fixed. Well, google talk won't let me log in, says it can't connect.
Note that all other Internet features, and google voice still work great. Any ideas?
I'm trying to figure out how to delete searches from the Marketplace. The other suggestions on this site won't work for the Droid.

I have done a factory rest and tried a battery pull...nothing is working. This droid x works great besides the marketplace issue. What can I do to fix this?
View 17 Replies View RelatedLooks like there is a newer version of Google Maps in the market than that which is on the Droid. On the Droid = 3.2.0 in market place is 3.2.1. I installed it and the navigation and all still seems to be there. Not sure what was in the updates but it did upgrade the version number.

All were listed in my download list on the market as installed or if i uninstalled a paid app it would still say purchased for downloading again at a later time. After using the wipe but keep apps method on droidmod 1.0, i got back about 90 percent of my apps. I lost a few paid and free ones, no problem right? just re-download, no biggie because i already purchased them. Well al my paid apps have prices next to them, i cannot update any paid apps without having to purchase them again. I checked google checkout and all the receipts are still there. Also all the free apps work on my phone but none say installed in market, they say free so in order to update them i must re-download and guess that they have a new release out. Any ideas, did i get semi disconnected from the cloud by doing the wipe but keep apps method?As it stands i will loose 40 bucks or so in apps if i want to update any of them which is no big deal but its just the thought.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHi everyone, I recently flashed sapphire 1.0.0, frozen yogurt, bugless beast 0.4 with clockwork mod recovery V 2.0.1.3, and had success with all roms above, except for the fact that in sapphire, i'm greeted by the droid setup tutorial, which is completely non-responsive, (I remove the setupwizard.apk from the Gapps .zip which causes it to set up without a hitch), and in all of the mentioned roms, when I attempt to use gmail, gtalk, or the market they all crash on startup. In the market I see a hint of the EULA before im booted back to the home screen. I'm coming from 2.2 build number "voles-userdebug 2.2 FRFxx 49593 test-keys".

I also installed a copy of it on a device directly, perhaps as an email attachment.If I upload an updated version of the app to the marketplace, will the device be notified that a new version of the app exists on marketplace? View 2 Replies View RelatedI used to be a big IOS jailbreaker. I had been doing it for 4 years, before taking up android just a couple months ago. (and i must say, android is MUCH better). Anyway i know that basically during the jailbreaking process, the software uses an exploit on bootup and injects codes during the signature check on every level to make the idevice think that what it is running is legit, unmodified apple software. Hence why tethered jailbreaks need the original program to bypass iboot, because an exploit has not been found deep enough in the system to work in iboot aswell.
So how does rooting compare? Dont be afraid to explain using big words and in detail.

Even worse, going back to stock means erasing all the data and apps on my phone. I was under the impression that one could use Titanium backup to make sure all apps, data, and settings can be re-imaged to the phone, but then I realized that Titanium only works if you have root, which I won't if I go back to stock. But when the official update comes out, how do I install it without losing all my data? Why can't I just install it on top of the rooted OTA update OS?
View 20 Replies View RelatedI just installed a custom ROM (LeeDroid 2.1a with A2SD+), which installs Froyo version of Android. (Apps install on an EXT3 partition of the SD Card, that the phone thinks is internal memory). However, roughly 25% of apps don't work (ie. Swype, HTC's More Widgets (ie. Dice), TypoClock) . Whether I use Sense or LauncherPro, the same result. Either they don't show up in the app drawer (but can be seen in Applications), or can't be launched (via Quick Info). The apps installed via the Android Market show as installed, but the OPEN button is greyed out.These are apps that worked before on 2.1 Eclair. So with no more info than "Cannot launch application", I can't figure out if its Froyo or the custom ROM (LeeDroid A2SD+) that's the "root" of the problem.

I ve read thru the instruction in the thread "How To Root + Install Custom ROM + Backup + More", but there dun seem to be an appropriate way for my Hero, since the method for South East Asia model is for "2.73.728.5" instead. so will that same method work for my Hero (aka the Gold Card method)?
