Do you have a problem with the letter "C" always popping up where you don't want it when your texting or entering info via the tap screen? This is so annoying! LOL! I keep forgetting I have the slide up keyboard to use sometimes.

The phone is new. I've tried clearing the history and the search history, disabling search suggestions, even setting airplane mode in case the phone was fetching this live.
I have handscent at its great,but how do I stop the stock sms from popping up along with the handscent? Sorry, I just cant find out how by myself. Also I am not getting pics half the time in either format.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe Droid is my first smartphone. Before it I was texting with the dialpad, and the phone would count down how many letters I have left (out of 160, the text msg length). Using the "messaging" icon on the Droid it never says when I'm approaching the text message limit. So is this "messaging" icon really like an instant messenger? It's not GTalk, that's another icon. If I send a 250 character txt message through the "messaging" app, does it get broken into 2 messages for the receiver?

Let's say I was typing for a bit and I noticed that I mis typed something. If I want to put my cursor where the mis typed letter is, it is not always the easiest thing to do. I noticed on my friends iphone if he were to put the cursor near the letter and hold his finger there a zoomed in window would pop up and alow him to move the cursor to the location he wants to put it.
Is there any app that can do this on the droid?
It's my first smart phone and I can't believe I haven't gotten one before this. It is such an amazing phone. My question is that even though I have the advanced task killer on my phone the programs like corporate calendar keep opening up and other such ones. I can let my phone sit for an hour and have over 10 programs running. Is there a setting I am missing that can stop these things from popping up?

But I cant figure out how to get it every time the physical keyboard is open. Most of the time I get nothing but this is the second time I have seen this at the bottom. Anyone know what going on with this. There isn't a setting for it for built in keyboard settings page. I wish it would work all the time because it is a nice feature.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThere have been multiple threads of people saying they are experiencing sound popping when using the 3.5mm jack, most of them say its on Pandora others will say that it happens on all mp3's or a few mp3's that otherwise sound perfect when played on their computer. To test I want to see if its a defect in hardware or if it just another Droid Does problem. I always consistently experience sound popping with my Sony headphones while playing Home by Michael Buble. If you go to youtube and search "home buble" play the first search result in high quality and turn the media volume to maximum. Listen in about 45 seconds and let me know if you hear popping.
View 22 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S4. My address book contains 6,500 contacts and is 90 mb in size. I am wondering if I am reaching the theoretical limits for address book size on Jelly Bean.
My address book frequently disappears which causes texting to stop working. The phone has been reset several times to try to solve the problem.
The only way for me to get the address book back is to clear the cache of the Contacts App and then force a stop. I then have to clear the cache of Contacts Storage which allows the address book to rebuild itself. The address book then lasts anywhere from 4 to 10 hours before it disappears.
Have both more contacts and a larger contacts file size than me?
Quick question: do text messages come through to the phone on either wi-fi or G3? Or is it just G3?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI was watching a video on Android 2.0 (from the Google Conference, I believe) and the presenter show a feature that allowed you to pull up your contact list and simply start "drawing" the letters of the contact you are looking for and it will jump right to it, rather than having to scroll down. For example you would draw "e" then "r" and it would jump right to Eric.
I haven't seen this discussed anywhere else when testing the phone, so I thought either this feature didn't make it or it needs to be enabled or something.
Anyone else seen or know anything about this?
Does anyone know how to set up a Group for texting so that you can text a specific group of people all at one time instead of having to do each one idividual? Thanks
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm finally going to make the jump over to android from winmo this week after years of loyalty but the one thing that could sway my decision is the ability to do t9 texting. yeah i know there are all these new fangled ways to text like swype but imo nothing beats the simplicity of a 9 button predictive layout I played with my brother's incredible which had it but i'm unsure if that was an HTC thing or not. So are all android keyboards the same with the same option and if not does anyone know if the X will have t9 text?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe vibrate feature for my text and email alerts no longer functions. It is just completely silent (ringer is off, but phone is set to vibrate, not silent). I have the setting for Also Vibrate on Notification checked so my setting are right, it seems. The vibration works for incoming calls, but not my alerts... I did have locale installed which is the only app I can imagine messing with it. I have uninstalled Locale but the problem persists.

Then I switched to an Eris where I had the option of using the qwerty keyboard on landscape OR I could hold it upright and use the numeric keyboard with T9 like I did on my slider. I always held it upright and was very happy. I was having reception issues with my eris so I traded it for a Moto Droid. Is there an option for the numeric type of keyboard becuase it takes me friggin forever to type a text.
