It's my first smart phone and I can't believe I haven't gotten one before this. It is such an amazing phone. My question is that even though I have the advanced task killer on my phone the programs like corporate calendar keep opening up and other such ones. I can let my phone sit for an hour and have over 10 programs running. Is there a setting I am missing that can stop these things from popping up?

Apps like Corporate Calender and Alarm clock. I have deleted them and they still continue to show as running every time I use Advanced Task Manager. They are not showing on my home screen but must be running in the background, right? How do i permanently get rid of them?

These aren't even apps I use, like a Sudoku game I haven't tried once yet. I'm not too worried about it, since performance seems to be fine, but I'm wondering if this will affect battery life.

Calendar does this also, and I kill it with taskiller several times in a day. I have Galaxy with Cupcake and newest firmware (H8) from NPS.

But I cant figure out how to get it every time the physical keyboard is open. Most of the time I get nothing but this is the second time I have seen this at the bottom. Anyone know what going on with this. There isn't a setting for it for built in keyboard settings page. I wish it would work all the time because it is a nice feature.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThere have been multiple threads of people saying they are experiencing sound popping when using the 3.5mm jack, most of them say its on Pandora others will say that it happens on all mp3's or a few mp3's that otherwise sound perfect when played on their computer. To test I want to see if its a defect in hardware or if it just another Droid Does problem. I always consistently experience sound popping with my Sony headphones while playing Home by Michael Buble. If you go to youtube and search "home buble" play the first search result in high quality and turn the media volume to maximum. Listen in about 45 seconds and let me know if you hear popping.

Footprints, Voice dialer, Messages (I use handcent), Peep and Music are the ones I've noticed and (coincidentally) are all apps I don't use. I only notice them when using Advanced Task Killer and have to kill them. It's a new issue so is it possible another app I downloaded recently is to blame? Am i maybe just insane?

1. I use Android to watch some CNN and bloomberg TV (not radio) that I want to play in the background with the screen off
2. I am playing some games which require the apps to be opened and the screen on to get some special stuff.
As above, are there any apps that can do this?A big bug bear of mine is that if im loading a particularly slow web page and want / need to be doing something else, if I open another app, effectively sending the browser to thr back ground, loading of the page stalls until the browser is called up again.It's not a big deal, but being so used to my blackberry loading pages in the background, I kind of miss it.

I noticed while loading some stuff to hers last night though that when you type on the keyboard, you don't get the letters popping up (i.e. on mine, when I hit a letter on the keyboard, it pops up a bubble showing what letter I hit for a half second or so, this doesn't occur on hers).I've looked everywhere I can find but don't see anywhere to turn that on/off. Any suggestions?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy eris has always has pretty alright battery life, what I would expect out of a smartphone, if unplugged at 9AM it usually was running on its last leg around midnight. I've had it for over 5 months now, I've always had it activated on alltel, I installed the 2.1v3 leak before the official OTA was out and just lately it seems like there something very wrong with my battery life...
If I unplug my phone at 9AM within the past week and occasionaly check and respond to a text message, my battery had been down to almost 30% by NOON... what?..
I have noticed that if I disable Mobile Network (3g/1x data), the thing lasts all day and some... If I turn mobile network ON, I can't see that I have any network traffic or any apps running in the background that are syncing data at all... I've had google account sync mess up on me before and have to reset my google account because it gets stuck in a syncing loop, but its not doing that, already checked. Very weird.
Anyone thing it could be something wrong in my ##PROGRAM#/##778# provisioning menu, maybe something got changed?.. Maybe it could be do to Alltel's AT&T merger that's happening right now, maybe some 3G tower's radios are turned off or something...
Just installed Handcent and so far Im loving it. Way better texting app then what comes stock from HTC. However I do have a question. How do I stop the HTC app from popping up with text message notifications? Right now I get both the HTC and the Handcent notification at the same time when a text comes through.

When I try to add an image for the background in Handcent, it changes my phone background and makes the handcent background black.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt seems like whenever I play around on the phone for a bit and the go to close my apps with TaskPanel the following are always running even though I didn't touch them:
Alarm Clock
Corporate Calendar
Calendar
Settings
Messaging (even though I have not used it at all)
and one other that isn't showing up right now but was something like mobile.? or
Some of these I don't care if they're running (I assume the Calendar is running since I need it to run for my Google calendar widget to work), but why is Alarm Clock and Corporate calendar always running? Is there a way to turn these off?

I am just wondering if the auto-suggest dictionary is user-modifiable. I use compact QWERTY (like SureType on BB). When I type "we", what comes out is "qe" which is the default word it wants to use. Perhaps I used it once and saved it? How can I delete the words I don't want popping up anymore (especially the ones I may have added)?
I've been running UD 1.0.0 since the day it dropped, when I installed it I was on vacation and wasn't using my droid much other then playing around with the setting and some internet browsing, like all good things my vacation came to a end at work my phone is used all day texting, incoming and out going calls all day, listening to my scanner app. That's when I found out UD 1.0.0 wasn't going to work for me, I have two batteries and by the end of the work day ( 8-12 hrs) one battery would be dead and the other down to 20%.
I tried different kernels, running only the basic's (no GPS, no WiFi no background light) still got the same results. UD 1.0.0 is a great ROM, but it just doesn't gel with my droid. So I'm back to UD 8.0 with slayher's 1100 kernel set at 800 mhz (1380 quadrant)and the Black N Bold theme running smooth and fast with no problems at all. Best thing is after 8-12 hrs of phone use texting and listening to my scanner I still come home with 20% - 40% battery without even using the spare.
i been using BB v4 with fabs nex theme only thing that gets me is i got all black everywhere but when i click on the stock msgs it bright and was wondering if there was way to make background on msgs black.I know handcent and chomp do it but i am just a fan of the sms popup.
