General :: Droid 4 - How To Copy Video / Pics From Phone Onto PC
Jul 31, 2012All I want to do is get the pictures that are on my phone in my "My Gallery => My Library" folder onto my PC.It should be so simple, yet nothing I do works.My camera is set to Storage Location: SD Card...I plug in my USB cable and my phone pops up with 4 options:
1) PC Mode
2) Windows Media Sync
3) USB Mass Storage
4) Charge Only
I obviously tried USB Mass Storage first.When I open "My Computer" on the PC i have 3 choices:
-Removable Disk (M)
-MOT (L)
-MotoCast (I wont use this, its horribly designed and a huge pain to use)
None of those choices will show me my entire Library. No matter what i do, I only get the pictures that I had previously copied from my old phone onto this one.Then i tried PC Mode. This time i get a pop-up with a bunch of options tht look useless.I open My Computer and get the smae thing as before.
Why in the world did Motorola make this so ridiculously complicated? When i plug in the USB cable I should get a simple pop-up with one of the options asking me if i want to see my SD card.

Nov 18, 2013I has a galaxy 4 like 2 month with my micro sd of san disk 16gb class 4 it work perfect for me and I decide to purchase a 64gb from ebay I bought a samsung card 64gb class 10..and now start the problem.
I insert the card to phone and it ask me to format it..I did it and after format I see in available free storage is 0.0 I take it out and format in comuter to fat32 ensure that is writeable and put it my phone I can see the card and I can see what have in it but when I try to move/copy some thing to the card from phone its give me a pop up message "the move/copy canceled"
So I take it out and put on my tablet and its work perfectly.

Sep 4, 2010I have 3 pictures in my gallery that were originally downloaded off my picasa acct. since then i have deleted them, or so i thought. the thumbnails of them are still showing in my gallery but when i select one, the pic enlarges for a split second then changes to what i guess is androids generic "pic not available" icon. why are they still showing as thumbnails and how can i delete them for good?

Apr 14, 2010So whenever i save a picture using the default browser... it will not show up in the gallery. How do you fix this? Extremeeeellyyy irritating. When i look at downloads on the browser it will show only the picture you clicked on as being in the gallery, but as soon as you open the regular gallery outside the browser download menu... it wont show up. Who would have thought it would be so hard to update a twitter pic on such a "smart"phone -__-

Mar 31, 2010I just finished the update to 2.1, and all went well. But when I went to look at my gallery, it downloaded and is showing all of my Picasa pictures! It never did this before, and I can't seem to find a settings menu to make it not do this! I would go ahead and delete the folders it added from Picasa, but before I do this, I want to make sure that it's not going to delete them on my Picasaweb account too.
Did anyone else have this problem? Will deleting the Picasa pics that showed up on my phone make the ones on my online account go away?
Never mind, just found the answer:
Similar to syncing for contacts and email, thumbnails of synced photos are transferred wirelessly, so there's no need to plug your phone into your computer. You can add and select the Google accounts associated with the Picasa photos you want to sync with the Gallery in the "Accounts & sync" tab under Settings. Click on an account and mark the checkbox next to "Sync Picasa Web Albums" to automatically pull your online photos into the Gallery.
It still would have been nice if this were an opt-in thing, but at least I can turn it off...

Dec 13, 2009I dnt know if this was mentioned but u can save pix from default txts app. You have to watch where u place ur finger. Don't press and hold on the picture attachment, press and hold on the whole message. You will see that the message and the attachment will highlight green and a screen will pop up.

General :: How To Fix App Force Closing When Trying To Copy / Cut Text In V4.0.4 ICS
Oct 20, 2012I loaded a new custom ICS rom on my Samsung Galaxy sIII i747 and noticed that every time I tried to copy text in the Chrome Browser address bar, Chrome would force close. I am posting in general since this fix may work for any ICS running on any device.

Summary:
Fix requires root.
1. boot recovery (CWM) > wipe cache
2. reboot phone > Root Explorer/ES File Browser > delete /data/clipboard/* (everything in this directory)
3. reboot recovery again > advanced > fix permissions
4. reboot phone > Copy/Paste should now word (worked for me)

I'm thinking about turning this off in order to reduce the size of my app and allow the "move to sd card" function to work. I've read that, in the past, people were having issues when the dev switched the copy protection setting from off to on. Is this still an issue? If users are still having problems then I'll leave things as they are. I understand that copy protection isn't really helping and I should just leave it off, but since I've had it on through several updates now, I'd hate to cause my users grief by changing now.
