This is my first time here and I picked up a Droid last Friday and have already learned a lot about this phone. One problem I would like to know is how do you exit web pages without turning the phone off? When I hit the browser icon, it takes me back to the last page which is still open and I don't know how to close them.

So after rooting my phone. Couple days later i had it charging and decided to turn off my phone and before I knew it. It automatically turn itself back on? Y is that? I am using bb 0.4 p3 kernel 1.0 on blue energy theme.

View 8 Replies View RelatedWell so after a cross country meet I had my Droid 2 in my backpack and I was going to call my dad. It wouldn't turn on, so I thought that it was just because my battery died. When I got home the next day, I charged it for a while and then turned it on, but it still wouldn't charge. I'm thinking that it is dead, but the charger is messed up because I didn't see anything on the Droid that was blinking, so I think that means its not charging. Can someone please help me?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if anyone else might be experiencing this. But whenever my phone gets the slightest bump the phone will turn off. If I try to turn the phone on by the power button it does nothing, it's like the phone is dead. If I pull the battery or plug it into a charger it will let me turn it back on.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is weird and took me a while to pinpoint exactly when this happens. When I am done using my phone I usually hit the home button to get to my home screen, regardless of what app or what screen I'm on. Then I press the power button at the top top turn off the screen. Almost everyday with what I thought was no clear pattern, my phone would reboot just after setting it down when I was done using it. I found that when pressing power too quickly after pressing home when the app hasn't fully gone away yet causes the phone to reboot. I have been able to consistently do this today from the gallery, not just at a specific picture but when viewing the list of my phone pictures. Over half a dozen times just now, every time, home then power and it reboots. I uninstalled OpenHome thinking it was related to the custom home app, but even with the default home it is still happening.Gallery is not the main problem, it has happened from other apps, but that one I have been able to most consistenly reproduce it because it takes longer for that to close before getting to the home screen (I only have 52 pictures, so I can't imagine that is the reason). I am about to go to a verizon store and see if I can reproduce it on the phones on display.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was at the beach today and my sister dropped my phone in the water, and now it wont turn on. The phone is still under the 30 day return policy from VZW. Will they accept it, or do I need to spend another ridiculous amount of money for the phone? I was going to take the phone back anyway for massive amounts of dropped calls and desktop wont rotate horizontally. You can't really tell it has been damaged, it just wont turn on. The water damage sticker is still red.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed that if you uncheck the box to enable the lock screen that the Droid X's screen will turn on for incoming text messages? It's rather annoying as I would rather not use a lock screen but don't want the screen turning on for every new text either. Screen stays off fine if the lock screen is enabled. This is my first Android phone so not sure if this is how Android behaves or if it's a Droid X issue.

View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen I trun my phone on, the scene changes from the scene I had chosen (the waving grass) to "current (unsaved)".If I change it to the one I prefer (saved with my name) I am asked to "save or cancel" the incorrect one.I click cancel, and all is well.But why does it change and how do I keep the scene selected that I want?I just want it to stick on the scene that I have chosen.

The first is that it is so sensitive at times, if I pass my finger over a button without actually touching the screen, it thinks I pressed it and executes the function. Second, I noticed that the spot I touch actually is off a bit so when I try to hit a link from a list (such as a thread here) it will pick the one above it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust got the new Droid X. Coming from a windows mobile phone (which I hated) I have a question on the android OS. It seems that when you are done with an app you just have to hit the menu button again.. but this leaves it in memory running.. is there anyway to close the and and just leave it? I did download the Advanced app killer but that seems silly to have to pick from a list of what you want closed.. I see no way to just close the app you are in.. it should be a default option for every app.. I hope I am just not finding it.. and it is there somewhere..

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got an Eris today. I am happy with the phone in general, but I did not realize how much I may want a keyboard with a smart phone. I may go back and get the Motorola version tomorrow.
My only concern is I do not know how to turn off getting the mobile versions of web pages as the default on the Motorola Droid. There is an option to turn off getting mobile versions of web pages as the default on the Eris, but I could not find it on the Motorola version. If I am getting a fast phone with a good browser, I want the full version of web pages-not scaled down mobile versions. Can I change that option on the Motorola?
I have seen other peoples desktops on their Droids, and they seem like they have at least 2 left of center, and 2 right of center pages. How is this done? I only have center , left and right to put my icons.

View 22 Replies View RelatedAlright, I went to a website that I was directed to go to. I had no problem viewing the main page, but when I click on a tab from the home page, it opens up that over top of the home page, like an overlay. I have no problem seeing this either. The problem is when I try to scroll on the overlay, I get these black boxes that surround the overlay and then it locks up and kicks me out of the browser or reboots my phone. I tried messing with the browser setting but that didn't help. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Let me just get this out of the way first and say WOW what an awesome phone this thing rocks the casba better than any blackberry I've ever owned.Ok now that I've got that out of the way here is my deli-ma and if this has been posted and answered before please forgive me as I did conduct a search prior to this I just couldn't find a thread that related to my scenario.Ok so I work for a huge IT company and when I was on the BB I had a rule setup with my BB desktop manager that any emails that came through with the word PAGEME in the body to forward that email to my phone as a level 1 message and cause my phone to explode in the process. (btw the PAGEME was added by our BES so that will no longer be an option for a filter) so what I was wondering is this, is there a way with this phone that I can setup a similar rule whether it is something that I have to configure on the phone itself or in say Outlook with a exchange rule. Whatever be the case I am open to anything all that matters is that we can make the phone do some god awful sound when a page comes in so that way I can at least assure that my phone will at least wake my wife up so she can kick me and wake me up . The positive thing is that the page will only be sent to me so whatever rule we'll be creating will be specific to me being the only recipient. And yes the page does come through as a email. I can change the pager address to be mynumber@vtext.com thats not a problem but I'd rather leave it going to my regular email that way I get the full page instead of just the first 160 characters.

long time reader, first time poster here. i just came from the HTC incredible where the browser was super fast.. and for some reason it seems extremely slow on the X, i am literally waiting and counting Mississippi's for the pages to load.. does anyone out there have the same problem? and if so.. what is the solution.

I then download ROM Manager. then I did the flash recovery clock work. i then pressed the "Reboot into Recovery" (to create a back up)...and my phone rebooted and is stuck on a screen which has an exclaimation mark and a phone laying on the ground...how do i get my phone back? i want to root it...and load some customr ROMs...
