Installed flash 10.1 today and since then...won't boot up at times, screen orientation won't switch, lock-ups, pages hang, multiple reboots etc. How do I uninstall this? I've looked on the phone and tried to research online without any luck so I have turned to to the real experts. Help!

I get a text, pull my phone out of the belt holster.....and read it in normal orientation. With the phone unlocked, I read the text(s) and decide to respond. About 75% of the time, it either takes 5-10 seconds to change orientation when I go to horizontal mode......or it won't even switch at all. It gets so frustrating I feel like throwing the phone.
Fwiw, a quick slide to expose the hardware keyboard will quickly change to horizontal orientation, but sliding it closed brings it back to default orientation, and doesn't seem to affect the speed of orienting back to horizontal.
I know there are other threads on putting your phone on vibrate, but haven't found an answer to my particular issue. When I'm in the lock/unlock screen, I can go two ways. Swipe right and the phone unlocks, swipe left and the silent mode is on/off. Is there a way to make it go into vibrate mode on/off instead of silent? I NEVER use silent but I ALWAYS use vibrate, and would much rather make that quick switch at the lock/unlock screen than using locale or volume control after unlocking.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI did a factory reset on my Eris and went through the setup process. Phone rebooted after being programmed(*228).Got in and started playing around. Downloaded updates for Google Maps and Facebook. I shut my phone off,and now it just hangs at the boot screen. I have tried booting up in recovery mode. All I get is a picture of the eris with a red triangle. Is there anything else I can try before I take it back to Verizon?

Each contact is listed 4 times, and it's really annoying having to scroll through 400 people when there really should only be around 100. I haven't been able to find any of the contact management options that my old D1 had, ie filters and stuff. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

View 9 Replies View RelatedThis has happened to me several times in slightly different cases. Several times I've mistakenly placed calls to the wrong people (due to just messing around with the phone).
In a panic, I pressed the "back" button thinking that it will cancel the call. It didn't. I also tried the "home" button. Also no good.
I had to drag down the notifications bar to see the phone call in progress and finally access the red Hang Up button. That worked. The problem is that is is SLOW. And worse, one time the phone would not respond to the button press until after several tries (maybe the CPU was busy on something).
Anycase, that would appear to be a major problem with all these touchscreen-only smartphones - lack of a physical Hangup button.
Is there any workarounds to this? Perhaps some sequence or combo of the existing physical buttons to forcefully hangup an errant call?
I rooted my Droid using the SM Updater and am currently running sholes mod 2.05 but with everything going on between that and then I've been watching Pete's bugless beast ROM. I've decided that I would like to switch but I don't wanna unroot and then re-root my phone to do that. What I need to do to switch over?
View 18 Replies View RelatedIf I ever want to restart my phone I have to pull my battery multiple times to get it to boot. It will load the Motorola M and sit there. Usually takes about 2 or 3 battery pulls to move onto the droid logo. I am on 2.3.9 Leak and am running the Revolution Theme.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI read today that there was a new version of Swype available from their download page, so I logged in and downloaded it and installed it. Everything it working fine. However, since I installed it I have noticed in the notification bar that I have now downloaded two new Swype installed files. Thing is, I never went back and redownloaded it. Once I had opened up Twicca and once I had opened up the Market apps and it just started donwloading.
Anyone have any idea what's going on and how it's downloading without me instructing it to?
Is there a Froyo ROM out there that doesnt have a 10 minute boot time?
OK it is not exactly 10 minutes but my boot times seem to have grown from 2.01 to 2.1 to rooted 2.1 and rooted Froyo. Plain Vanilla Froyo 1ghz
yup thats it, I get a call talk then when its time to hang up get a black/blank screen and will not work till i slide it open ... sometimes i have to take out the battery and reset it but not as often since the upgrade

After it downloads, the installation fails with the message: "Package file was not signed correctly." I see comments from other Droid users that look as if theirs installed (although I am not certain that they are Motorola Droids).
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just installed Flash the other day on top of my BB 0.4V and 1.1LV Chevy1 kernel. I've noticed some extreme unstableness since I did that and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing something similar. I have to reboot at least twice a day now. I get constant FC's for various programs including launcher (ADW).
Sometimes it get's stuck in this weird loop where I can't get back to the home screen. I can hit back all day long and it switches between the dialer and the browser. During this time the home button is non-responsive. I usually have to reboot but sometimes going to standby (tap the power button) and coming back out it resolves itself as well. I've also had major headaches with screen rotation going haywire.
I'm about a hairs width away from dropping back to my last nandroid backup and forgetting flash ever existed if it's going to be this crappy. I seems to be not ready for release or maybe rushed to release (Adobe rushing releases? Never! haha).
Has anyone else observed similar behavior since installing flash? It doesn't matter what ROM, I'm just looking for any kind of pattern that I can point back at Adobe (not a fan - can you tell?).
Is there a screen orientation lock feature? I haven't seen it mentioned. In fact a search only turned up mention of it as a hardware button on the iPad. This would be great for using it while lying down, reclining, in the car.

She got the deal from Wireless Amazon Beta, where she only paid 39.99.I wasn't able to, wasn't eligible for upgrade and got mine at the store.Anyhow, her phone a couple days in would freeze, the screen would go black, and then it reboots.Now it happens a couple times a day at least.Obviously seems like it's defective, but I'm wondering if anybody else is dealing with the same problem?If so, have you taken into Verizon. what have they told you or done for you?Wondering if she should send this back to Amazon Wireless, or head into a Verizon.And I'm wondering what kind of return/exchange/refurbishing headache were in for.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is weird and took me a while to pinpoint exactly when this happens. When I am done using my phone I usually hit the home button to get to my home screen, regardless of what app or what screen I'm on. Then I press the power button at the top top turn off the screen. Almost everyday with what I thought was no clear pattern, my phone would reboot just after setting it down when I was done using it. I found that when pressing power too quickly after pressing home when the app hasn't fully gone away yet causes the phone to reboot. I have been able to consistently do this today from the gallery, not just at a specific picture but when viewing the list of my phone pictures. Over half a dozen times just now, every time, home then power and it reboots. I uninstalled OpenHome thinking it was related to the custom home app, but even with the default home it is still happening.Gallery is not the main problem, it has happened from other apps, but that one I have been able to most consistenly reproduce it because it takes longer for that to close before getting to the home screen (I only have 52 pictures, so I can't imagine that is the reason). I am about to go to a verizon store and see if I can reproduce it on the phones on display.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFresh 1.1 lock screen is clear. I personally do not like that, BUT when I try to load another one via Pre-kitchen, it loads, reboots, and its still the same. I click to clear cached lock screen, reboots, still the same. Anyone know why it won't change? the boot screen changed first try, so that is good, just that damn lock screen. I don't like the clear thingy.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIdk what else i can do. i started out on rooted 2.1. At first it was complete fine up until a few weeks ago. Once it started i decided to flash a barebones rooted 2.2 ROM over and i figured it would get rid of the issue. That didn't help it either. So i moved to a more well known ROM thinking maybe it will fix it so i flashed over skyraider 3.3 with sense and its still doing it. This happens like 3 times a day and sometimes it will get caught in a boot loop where it restarts before its even completely loaded. So i have to pull the battery for like 10 min. What else can i do? its soooo annoying
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen i plug in the usb charger or connect it to my car dock. When i plug it in, the phone reboots and goes to the droid logo/droid eye screen and hangs there. I have to pull the battery to turn it off and back on again. Once it reboots it doesn't seem to have a problem connecting, but after that and a f ew hours of usage it happens again when i plug it back in. I installed a lot of apps using appbrain recently and i feel like it started doing that after i installed them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI went to reboot my Droid because it was lagging a little and when it came back on it go stuck at the Cyanogen boot screen. I pulled the battery, put it back in and held the X to boot in recovery and my recovery won't come up either. It just skips right to the Motorola M and if it doesn't get stuck there it goes back to the Cyanogen screen.
I haven't made any changes to the phone at all so I am completely puzzled on why this is happening. I obviously can't take it back to Verizon since its rooted so if there is a way to fix this I really want to because I love my phone and my wife will kill me if it is screwed up.
I need a new them or way to store more apps on the pages of the Home screen on the Droid instead of just having 3 screens.

The press the screen and the images switch randomly. I purchased the ebook "Professional Android Application Development" and have torn though it. I am stumped. I'm thoroughly confused at this point. View 11 Replies View RelatedI kept rejecting phone calls whilst pulling the desire from my pocket, so I have switch the lock screen using lockbot to a side swipe instead, this is working very well.However, now when i receive a call it jumps straight to an answer or decline screen which is just as easy to reject by mistake.Does anyone know a solution this problem? I suppose what im looking for is to have to unlock the phone before answering the call.
