I pre ordered my Droid X a couple days ago and I was wondering, since I know I will be getting a multitude of accessories for my X, what are you guys planning on getting, and why? Cases, screen protectors, car docks and the like. This thread might help me decide on what i want to buy too.

I wonder if the local sprint store will have a good stock of evo accessories on hand for the release of the evo? i hope so cause the day i get my evo is the day i want my dock as well as a mini hdmi adapter

I use my cell phone a lot, and I would like to have one battery fully charged at all times in case I run out or am going out for the night. This is a fail proof method I have used on my palm for years.

View 12 Replies View RelatedPicked my home dock and car mount along with screen protectors for $50.00 with my Corp discount.I played with the Droid and Eris.I know the Droid is the right decision for me.There may not be multitouch but the phone flies.The Eris is much better than the Sprint Hero however.I had that phone for almost 30 days so I should know.I pick up my phone at 10am from BB till then it's breakfast at ihop.
View 8 Replies View Relatedi'm sure this has been asked before but, with 2.01 and 2.1 things may have changed and as these are/have *just* come out I felt it was worth asking:I'm looking at either a driod or HD2. Now I really like the HD2 BUT it has the usual HTC BS issues with a buggy frontend and generaly, like all HTC stuff, being excellent in principle but rushed out and becomes major fail. So, this brings me to a Milestone (i'm in the UK).I'm very tempted by this as its similar in form factor to my current Acer M900 - large screen and slide keyboard. But before I do, i'm a little confused by some stuff and was hoping you guys can help me please?
- I'm looking at a Milestone being a UK person, can I use ROM's for a Droid and still retain the multi-touch feature?
- I have read over the past few days that some Droids can auto-reboot. Does this also affect Milestones and have the new 2.01 updates fixed it? Do we know if the 2.1 will defo fix?
- I am a hardcore Office user on my WinMobs, can I get full office functionality on the Droid? I need full outlook sync including tasks. I need to be able to edit Excel and Word and at least look at PowerPoint presentations.
- I also need OneNote or something VERY similar on Android that will sync to my PC as well, can this be done
- I have read that the keyboard can be akward, sadly I have no idea where to try one in the UK so, honestly, is it useable or too cramped
- Battery life - i'd need full push email for 7am to 10pm, can the phone battery handle this
- The HTC HD2 has the usual issue where when locked it will require a reboot to "wake it up" again, does anything like this happen with the Milestone? Its highly embarrasing and VERY frustrating to go to take notes in a meeting only to find I need to reboot before I can....

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just came from my local Best Buy where I tried to social-engineer myself a Droid. I brought the Best Buy sku 9553501 and Motorola number A855 with me. The VERY helpful employee looked up the sku and it came up "Not avail at location". He realized it was the Droid and verified his belief by pulling out some accessories (Droid protective cover) marked A855. He told me that this Best Buy wasn't scheduled to have the Droid yet, and proceeded to tell me all about his hacked and rooted phone, how he ran Hero on some WinMo device. He told me that "IF" that Best Buy was going to be able to sell the phone, it won't be until November 9th. He also mentioned that Best Buy is having a training with Verizon on November 2nd. Next attempt will be at the Verizon business store.

I bought them on the VZW website and got both for around $22 bucks each. I've been happy with both even though I haven't been driving much. Has anyone seen a car dock that doesn't block the camera? Mine does. I wanted to launch Qik or Ustream Broadcaster while I drive around. Just thought it would make for some cool video.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince the Droid is a micro-USB connection, I am assuming that we do not have to purchase the over-priced Motorola/VZW accessories? All that is necessary is standard car/wall adapter that accepts USB input. Then, any micr-USB cable will suffice. A quick look at different sites has the chargers for ~$10 and a micro-USB cable is only ~$3.

View 21 Replies View RelatedI once had a HTC TyTN. It was basically ok at what it did, but it couldn't sync with my Linux systems reliably, so it lost much of its appeal. I eventually sold it and I'm now using a 15 euro phone that came with 10 euro prepaid. You know the kind. Basically, I needed any mobile phone and I would keep my contacts / schedule on paper until a better solution came along. </backstory> I've been meaning to complicate things again. Android now seems like a good solution, and the Droid/Milestone is the best there currently is. Problem is, I live in the Netherlands.
It's in Germany and in Italy now. But is there any more information - educated guesses even - on when it might arrive in the Netherlands? Or, I'm sure others are interested, elsewhere in Europe? I was hoping to get one this year. Should I hold my breath? I know there is the option to import the device from Germany or Italy. But as I understand it, three quarters of the appeal of Android in general, and the Droid in particular, is the wireless internet connectivity.

My contract is currently up and I'm wanting to get an Android phone (and this one looked cool) but I don't want to wait too long if it isn't going to be available reasonably soon. View 49 Replies View RelatedOne thing some of you over-clockers may not be aware of is, the over-clocked kernel that you flashed to your DROID is based off of the 2.0 kernel. Some folks are reporting issues again that were present before the 2.0.1 update i.e. crackling audio, LED and keyboard back-lighting dysfunction, etc. Actually, I have yet to experience any of these issues.
This isn't bad news, mind you. Just a little something that we can look forward to as the new & improved kernels become available. I still have high hopes that the official 2.1 release is going to be a very optimized ROM/kernel for our beloved DROID. And when that kernel gets over-clocked.
UPDATE: I have since removed the CompCache from my DROID. I would get reboots when I tried calling anyone.
I'm almost a noob in this huge world of Androids and cupcakes and Froyos and Eclairs and Gingerbreadman. So what I want to ask is what stuff should I check in the phone when buying it used from another person. I know to check the standard functions like calling, msging, camera, wifi, gprs/edge, gps etc. But I don't know any other thing.

View 49 Replies View RelatedWhy are accessories so scarce.Eris has been out since 11/6.You would figure at least batteries and charging docks would be available.Also with the eris just being a re-branded hero, you would think there would be abundance of accessories.I can understand the droid,because its a completely new device.I know I could just do my research and find out what batteries and docks are compatible, but i don't think i should have to.When i bought the samsung omnia i had no problem finding batteries and docks.It seems like it was a rushed launch, but they been talking about this since the beginning of the year.

Anyways the question is regarding the 2.1 update. I know many of you are like go search. But the thing is that this question has not been asked a lot from what I have seen on the forum. So considering that Verizon has the update, why are they toying with us and why don't they just release it all over the nation or on the Verizon site already?
