Since the Droid is a micro-USB connection, I am assuming that we do not have to purchase the over-priced Motorola/VZW accessories? All that is necessary is standard car/wall adapter that accepts USB input. Then, any micr-USB cable will suffice. A quick look at different sites has the chargers for ~$10 and a micro-USB cable is only ~$3.

Hey guys I had a question wanted to know am I suppose to have some type of charging light when the phone is powered off and plugged into the wall charger? or does this only come on when the phone is fully charged?

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy phone was dying so i charged it. Plug it in, 30 mins past so i went to check on it.
So i looked at it and battery is still red. And i am wonder what the heck. Everything is plug in where it should be.
Low and behold the chord connecting at the mini usb well let's just say the casing is ripping apart and the wire is exposed. I've had this phone for 3 weeks and this happens.
Verizon better give me a new charger. Also i've notice i always get Sense UI force closed and other apps force closed but if i close and start again it works.
Is it okay to use the standard mini-B usb cable to charge Eris? Anyone tried?
View 41 Replies View RelatedSo I normally use the HTC wall charger but left it at home and grabbed a Plantronics wall charger that came w/ my bluetooth. It's micro usb and everything, 5.0v output, etc. I plug it in, and the battery goes from red to green w/ a lightning bolt, but the green is moving to simulate charging. and a pop-up keeps telling me i'm at 12%. So, will other chargers not work on this thing?

Has anyone experienced this? I searched the forums and the common answer was that 3 hours was normal but it takes my phone around 8 hours to charge on both USB and wall charging.
I just got the fascinate a few days ago. Defective battery or handset? I called Verizon and they said that it can't be troubleshot.
I really like the phone but 8 hours is excessive.
I have an image view in my app. when I try to make it show a jpg file exported from 3ds max, it works. But if it comes from Photoshop, it just does nothing. Why is that? If it is at all important my app gets the image from my server with the following code...

View 2 Replies View RelatedPicked my home dock and car mount along with screen protectors for $50.00 with my Corp discount.I played with the Droid and Eris.I know the Droid is the right decision for me.There may not be multitouch but the phone flies.The Eris is much better than the Sprint Hero however.I had that phone for almost 30 days so I should know.I pick up my phone at 10am from BB till then it's breakfast at ihop.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI just came from my local Best Buy where I tried to social-engineer myself a Droid. I brought the Best Buy sku 9553501 and Motorola number A855 with me. The VERY helpful employee looked up the sku and it came up "Not avail at location". He realized it was the Droid and verified his belief by pulling out some accessories (Droid protective cover) marked A855. He told me that this Best Buy wasn't scheduled to have the Droid yet, and proceeded to tell me all about his hacked and rooted phone, how he ran Hero on some WinMo device. He told me that "IF" that Best Buy was going to be able to sell the phone, it won't be until November 9th. He also mentioned that Best Buy is having a training with Verizon on November 2nd. Next attempt will be at the Verizon business store.

I bought them on the VZW website and got both for around $22 bucks each. I've been happy with both even though I haven't been driving much. Has anyone seen a car dock that doesn't block the camera? I then used the same cable and plugged it up to my computer and it charges with no problem. My car charger cable works too. Any ideas why the wall charger would want to stop working all the sudden? Its not the cable because like I said I have it charging via my computer.
