Before 2.2 upgrade, under contacts/menu "display groups" would present me with a list of contact groups (all, phone, google) with a header of "show".Now I just get the "show" header and no list of groups.

Whenever I click "contacts", it shows "All Groups", not "Phone Contacts". After I switch the display group to "Phone Contacts", it'll stay that way for an hour or so, but later, it'll switch right back to "All contacts". (I have "facebook" and "twitter" groups in contacts as well). Is anyone else having this problem?

View 1 Replies View Relatedso I created a group and misspelled the name in the silly "Contacts" application. So, I deleted the group and created a new one with the name properly spelled. Yes, I could have renamed the misspelled group, but I was in an unusually stupid frame of mind.The group doesn't show in "Contacts" on the phone, but it does in Handcent and elsewhere.I know how to NOT screw up again, and that's to NOT use the "Contacts" app every again, but how do I truly delete the group that I already created?I went into Handcent and went to send a message to a group, and the deleted group appeared there. I also went to to the application that I downloaded called "Group Ringtones" and it appeared there as well. It doesn't appear in GMail though. I didn't expect it to appear in GMail, but it wouldn't have surprised me if it did.

They're all neatly organized into groups on gmail, but on the phone they just all populate the "all contacts" or "google contacts" in the stock contact manager. Is there a way to filter by group? I'm using an incredible and this functionality is build into HTC's "people". Am I missing something similar that Motorola has set up? Seems like theres gotta be a way to group contacts on here too.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have searched but I wanted to ask specific to DX to make sure I wasn't missing something simple. Google Contact Groups don't appear in my contacts on the DX regardless of sync. One of the group names I created did transfer over and Organization name.
I cannot sort the contracts by group on my phone. I either have all or none. Did I do something wrong (most likely yes, this was much easier in the BB world)? Am I missing a step, this appears to be a problem on all Android OS. So do I need an app to fix this?

For example, I have a contact with 4 linked profiles (phone, google, facebook, twitter); It is displaying the twitter name and I'd rather it display the actual name (from any of the other linked profiles). When i go to edit this contact, the first name and last name is what i want it to display, yet it still display the twitter name.

I linked all my contacts with their corresponding facebook and/or twitter account. I set it so that the facebook is the main display name but a few of contacts are changing to the twitter's username as the display for the contact. How do to make it so the facebook is the default. All my contacts has facebook is the default but 3 contacts are being stubborn and want to change to twitter.

So is there any way to wipe the memory or factory reset the device (which is rooted but still has the stock rom) without the use of the screen? Also, when I plug it into my computer it doesn't appear in Computer (although the computer does know it's been plugged in by the sound it makes, maybe it's set to Charge Only even though I always had it set to data transfer).

New to android and really like it. However, seems like the maintenance of contacts is a common source of confusion. I have contacts from my Gmail displayed. I have a created a group of contacts that I have been able to add contacts to. However, not all contacts are available to be added to this group.
Under the general contacts page, all the contacts are there (including many imported from gmail that I don't care for since every email that has ever been used seems to be saved). When I go to edit the group and add a contact, not all the contacts are displayed as available to add. I have gone into my gmail contact list and made sure that the contact I want to add is listed under the "my contacts" heading.
I synced facebook to my contacts. I want to add some of them to certain groups but when I go to do it none of my contacts are there? What gives?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Star Note N9770 which had a smashed display - daughter knelt on it. The phone still appeared to work, though we couldn't see anything. I bought a "bricked" N9770 on eBay and used the display unit from that (it really was bricked - wouldn't turn on or charge) to replace the smashed unit.
We now have a display and everything appears to work and it charges. Except for the colours on the display - they are very pale/faint/washed out (hard to describe but the full range of colours doesn't appear in the display - just mostly greens and pinks and all a bit grainy). I've tried the brightness and contrast levels, factory reset, hard reset, etc, but it makes no difference.
I'm guessing that this display unit is slightly different from the original, even though all the connections were identical and tbh, it reminds me of a driver issue in a PC.
Coming from a Blackberry, I was able to create a "Group" and add people to that group so that I could send SMS Text messages to those in that group rather than having to add each one individually each time. I haven't found a way to do this on the new Droid. Is there some software/trick that I'm missing? I used this for work when multiple people need to get the same message at the same time.

As far as I can figure, Android allows you to group phone contacts but there is no option for grouping Google contacts, which most of my contacts are. Does anyone know a way to group Google contacts on the phone. I don't even care about making Groups on sync. I just want to group them now that they are on my phone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIve not found any specific in depth instructions with my phone so here goes my question...I have managed to sync al my email gmail facebook and phone contacts to my handset, I want to put my contacts (mainly phone numbers) into groups so its easier to group SMS people etc, when i try to add contacts to a group it only seems to come up with my Gmail added Email addresses, i have gone into the relevant menu and selected display phone contacts only (or something similar) and re tried but still i am getting just my Gmail addresses as the only option to add to groups. Any help would be greatly appreciated and im sorry if its blurringly obvious!

In particular I can't seem to sync my Google contacts groups. The contacts themselves sync ok but they are all grouped under Google in the groups dialogue. There doesn't seem to be any way for me to add them to groups I create on the device or to get the groups that are in my Google contacts to display. Annoyingly if I try to create a group on the device with the same name as a group in my Google contacts it tells me that a group of that name already exists even though it won't display that group on the phone.

The problem I'm encountering is that I have thousands of Google contacts from anyone who has ever sent me an email and I don't want them in my phone contacts. Same thing goes for facebook. I only want the phone to pull Facebook data for those contact already downloaded from Google.

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got a Droid X... coming from 3 years of horrible T-Mobile, so I'm excited to be on verizon finally! One problem though, and big because I text a lot - I notice my text messages are being delayed. They often come maybe 5 minutes later in groups of 3 or however many on in queue. It looks as if my phone is only checking periodically... how can I troubleshoot this? Perhaps it's a signal issue but I can still send texts and also receive calls.
