I hate being forced by some websites to view their functionally challenged "mobile" version. The standard versions look amazing on the Droid! I assume the sites are reading the useragent string from the browser and forcing the redirect. Any way to change what the useragent is reporting? I've searched quite a bit and haven't found a resolution.

I have checked and changed settings back and forth, rebooted, etc. It doesn't happen to all sites, but IS happening more frequently on a variety of sites I regularly browse. Even if I take the "m." out of the address, it still happens.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to view a full version (desktop version) of a website, but unable to (www.fanhouse.com incase you are wondering). I remembered I could force my old HTC G1 to do this by changing the UA String by putting "about:debug" in the URL, then click "Menu" and setting UAString to desktop.
When I did this on my Vibrant, the moment I exit out of settings page, the Web App crashes. The Web App will force close and can not be restarted until I go to Manage Appicaltions and do a "Clear data" of the Web App.
Anyone have anyluck doing this? Is this a bug with the Samsung's browser or is it a problem with Android 2.1's browser? I still new to 2.1 and to Samsung's TouchWiz so bear with me.
i have just brought the HTC D HD and i was wondering if anyone know's how to view the normal websites and not mobile versions. For example I search for youtube in google and it always brings up the mobile version, but i want the web version you get on laptops, can anyone help?

I turned it on, connected it to my home Wifi, used the correct password, and it says it is connected, and has been assigned an IP addressed. However, it isn't connecting to any websites or anything else in any of the browsers.

I am almost able to log in to it, but then it asks me for my birthday because I'm not browsing from a "familiar location". So I select my correct birth date from the drop-down menus, but the Login button stays grayed out for some reason and I can't go any further. Has anyone else had any success?My reason for wanting this is so I can access the actual Notifications page. The way I currently have it set up, I get an e-mail notification in Gmail. Then when I click the link in the e-mail for whatever update it's supposed to take me to, it just takes me to the homepage of Facebook Mobile. Then sometimes it won't even list the New Notifications link. This makes it very inconvenient if I want to go find where to reply to a comment or something. I have to know exactly where it is, which is difficult if it's not recent.

The "hot key" if that is what it is called - the one one the face of our phones next to the back button works fine, too.

View 1 Replies View Relatedso i have an n1 for at&t and i just got the ota update for froyo last night. today i'm trying out the default web browser to see what kinds of flash videos i can see. i already downloaded the flash player from the market. plus i went into the setting for the browser with regards to "about:debug" then changed the UAString to desktop. but for some reason when i go to a website like nbc.com to try and go watch a full episode of the office, it only loads the mobile version of the site. also when i check out the facebook page it always automatically loads the "touch" version of the site. how can i get it to default to the desktop regular full site version? can anyone tell me a way around this or a setting change other than try a different browser?
