HTC Desire :: T-Mobile UK - 2.2 Froyo Version What Are Differences From Full Version?
Sep 23, 2010Does anyone know the main differences between the full HTC version of 2.2 and the T-Mobile version that has just been rolled out? From what I have seen in some articles the camera and camcorder functions / look and feel haven't changed. anybody else know of differences other than the addition of crappy new apps i didn't ask for... thanks T-Mobile

May 26, 2010I got my girlfriend the HTC Desire, and myself the HTC Legend.I love the phones, but when i use the internet my phone goes to a crappy "mobile" version of a website, while if i type the same URL into my girlfriend's Desire it loads the full page.I have looked at the recommended threads and the only relevant one doesn't have a solution, it only said to download the Dolphin browser, which i did, and i like but the problem is not resolved.I got this new phone because my old Nokia N96 (N-Ninety-Sux) had crappy internet too.

Jul 12, 2010I am having my Galaxy S delivered tomorrow and was wondering what protection people are using. I was going to use some sort of film protector, such as Zagg invisible shield and a Flip Case. But the only flip case I can find for the Galaxy S looks horrid, and I am not sure on the texture of Zagg Invisible Shields.I have also considered silicone gel cases, but I am having trouble finding one that is nice, and pouches in combo with a screen protector.What would you use and if I did buy a screen protector, which brand should it be, I want one that will protect but with minimum difference to the feel or colour of the screen.

Apr 5, 2010I used to be a C/C++ programmer before getting in to android. I am not sure how people maintain 2 versions of a program without using #ifdef preprocessor macros. Right now I am changing the package name in eclipse and changing the code manually, but this seems really inefficient. Can anybody suggest a good way of having 2 or more projects that share most of the code?

I basically want the Moto Droid lock screen on my EVO for the slide to toggle sound on/off feature due to the lack of an external switch on the EVO. It now saysmy firmware version is 1.5 and software version is 1.56.651.2 not really sure but I thought I was reading people are on version 2.0 and higher not sure but anyway do Ihave to go to the Sprint website or the HTC website for the newer version if there is in fact one?

Jan 4, 2010I'm looking to create a mobile version of our website/web app. What's a good way to provide the best, most fully featured version.Part of the reason for creating it is instead of an iPhone app, so I'd like to offer an iPhone web app that takes full advantage of the iPhone's version of WebKit (so CSS animations, being able to rely on good javascript support etc). However, I'd also like the site to work well on other smart phones as well as more basic mobile phones as well.Do I create two sites (Mobile WebKit and basic mobile web) and redirect based on User Agent? Can I create one site that degrades well? What are the possibilities, and how do other people handle it? Also: are mobile web simulators worth a damn? I have an iPhone, so can test easily on that. If I want to test on Blackberry/Palm Pre do I really need a device or are there reliable simulators?

Jul 3, 2010so i have an n1 for at&t and i just got the ota update for froyo last night. today i'm trying out the default web browser to see what kinds of flash videos i can see. i already downloaded the flash player from the market. plus i went into the setting for the browser with regards to "about:debug" then changed the UAString to desktop. but for some reason when i go to a website like nbc.com to try and go watch a full episode of the office, it only loads the mobile version of the site. also when i check out the facebook page it always automatically loads the "touch" version of the site. how can i get it to default to the desktop regular full site version? can anyone tell me a way around this or a setting change other than try a different browser?

I assume the sites are reading the useragent string from the browser and forcing the redirect. Any way to change what the useragent is reporting? Dec 11, 2009Is it possible to open the regular Facebook page in the browser? I am almost able to log in to it, but then it asks me for my birthday because I'm not browsing from a "familiar location". So I select my correct birth date from the drop-down menus, but the Login button stays grayed out for some reason and I can't go any further. Has anyone else had any success?My reason for wanting this is so I can access the actual Notifications page. The way I currently have it set up, I get an e-mail notification in Gmail. Then when I click the link in the e-mail for whatever update it's supposed to take me to, it just takes me to the homepage of Facebook Mobile. Then sometimes it won't even list the New Notifications link. This makes it very inconvenient if I want to go find where to reply to a comment or something. I have to know exactly where it is, which is difficult if it's not recent.
