Is there a weather app that will display the watches and warning on the radar map?
I use the Weather Channel app, Weatherbug, and IMap weather, but none of them display like Tornado and Svr Thunderstorm warning boxes.

When I go to my local tv station's web site and try to view their animated weather radars, I can see them but they don't animate. Is this due to flash, something with the web site itself (not being mobile-specific), or am I just using the wrong app to view weather radars?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI've done some googling, but haven't been able to discern if a specific app has a widget for the home screen that displays local weather radar. Preferably it could be refreshed manually so that the battery isn't constantly crushed, however even finding an app with a desktop radar widget would be great. New to Android, won a Samsung Galaxy Tab at an office party a couple weeks ago.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt looked like I was able to create a "My Map" online with the Weather Channel and/or Accuweather.com as a "layer". I was able to add the Weather Channel as a "layer" on the phone's NAV map, but it returned an error stating there was a problem with the site coding or something.
I just thought it would be cool to be in NAV mode and have cloud cover update real time as you driving through, or into a storm. Would be even more useful if you were trying to slip in a training ride, and needed to know where the storm is in relation to your route, for those marginal days.
I wanna know which Weather App is the best. What I'm looking for is:
-One that shows me a radar of the area.
-One that has a widget.
-One that has hour to hour weather?
-Doesn't drain TOO much battery.
I've been comparing Weather Channel and Weatherbug, and it seems like both have their pro's and con's. Can anybody give their opinions on which is the best of these two (or possibly another I'm not finding) ?
Any good weather apps(or direct sites) with ANIMATED radar that will load on non-Flash Android.Droid-X(until Froyo comes out...for real).I noticed Weather Channel DOES have an animated app that will load but it takes forever for it to load slower than animated radar would load on my Storm(which was relatively quick) but I thought this Droid-X was supposed to be fast. Yeah I know the problem is probably on TWC's side of things as they always seem to be slow.Had Accuweather on the Storm and I had the animated radar saved as a favorite and could one-click to get it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIs anybody able to see their local radar within The Weather Channel app? The rest of the app/widget seems to work fine, but when I go to the radar map it never seems to load the radar, and nothing ever shows up. It does load the map but there is never any rain or anything. Yes, there is rain in the area when I am doing this (other radar apps work fine), and I've checked the settings to verify that I have it set to Radar. There is a spinner in the upper right corner beneath the clock that never stops spinning, so maybe it's just not loading?I know there are other radar apps and that Weatherbug is highly recommended, but I really like the Weather Channel radar and would really like to at least have the option to look at that one in addition to others. My husband's Incredible is having the same problem, as was the demo phone at Verizon store when we first went to look at it. I've been Googling for a couple hours now and can't seem to find anything so figured I'd check here.

For example, when I click on a radar image that normally shows rain looping, all the droid does is show where the rain is located on the map with no movement. Make sense? Thanks for any help. View 2 Replies View RelatedSo since the 2.1 OTA my weather widget will display the city, but no weather icon. if i sync it manually, it will show up. with 1.5 it would update every 3 hours, regardless if i had Background data on or off (i normally keep it off).
so now with 2.1 it wont sync unless i have BG data on, or do it manually. any way around this?

It keeps saying when i refresh weather info unavailable. IS anyone else having this problem? This just started happening yesterday morning prior to that i had no problems with it. The news portion is working fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDo not try to SBF back to 2.1 if you did the OTA 2.2 update. It will brick your phone completely. New bootloader version is 30.03. I tried to SBF back to 2.1 after doing to OTA 2.2 update and you cant. RSD finishes the SBF, but when the phone is suppose to reboot it wont. Instead you get an error "Err:A5,70,70,00,1F" on the bootloader. Won't let you boot to recovery or nothing. Just boots to bootloader. So Im bricked till theres a fix..

How do I go about reviewing the memory being used, and then how to free some up? What amount or % of memory should be free?
I have an HTC holster that I used for the last year. The Droid JUST fits into it. However, I kept having the Droid come on in my holster and it was driving me batty how it would unlock on it's own. Then it hit me. The holster clips shut MAGNETICALLY.The Droid thought it was in a multimedia dock so it stayed on while on my side.THAT's why my battery was draining so fast.So, be sure to get a velcro or other type of holster, nothing with magnets.
View 16 Replies View RelatedGot the new Moto Droid which is spectacular. The Gmail sync with Outlook is brilliant. My old HTC Windows Mobile that held 87 appointments for the next year was synced with Windows Outlook which was then sent to my Gmail calender.The Droid automatically listed all appointments seamlessly.When I listed my HTC on eBay, I had to clear all contacts and appointments. This is very labor intensive to do on the phone one by one. I synced the HTC with Outlook and erased all info on the old HTC. I did not think much of it when a window popped up indicating that my Gmail calender would erase these items too and IIRC I clicked OK.A funny thing happened the next day when I plugged the Droid into the computer. The auto sync with the Gmail calender updated my Droid calender with the newly erased Gmail calender. It erased every appointment on the Droid as the calender auto transferred.After I changed my undershorts, I was able to restore the Droid by going to Outlook "deleted items", move them back to the calender folder in Outlook, sync with Gmail, and finally sync with the Droid again.

My Droid was sitting on my desk next to me, it had about 80% battery life left, I get a few txt messages, and then its giving me the warning that my battery life is 15% and to plug it into the charger. Well I put it on the charger, and not even 30 seconds go by, and its fully charged. This has only happened once so far, but I am concerned is the battery slowly dying out, or is it just a glitch in the phone?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got my hands on a Sprint Samsung Moment couple of days ago and already am missing my little HTC Touch Vogue(Customized with Windows Mobile 6.5). I was always flashing all kinds of custom ROMs into the Vogue and realize it's not that easy on these android phones. Anyway, I would like to know if there are android apps that will display the Flip clock with the weather and also if there are widgets or apps which will display the email, text message and missed call count on the desktop. I don't care for the notification bar so much.
On another note, I am using K-9 Mail for email but now I get notification from both the stock email client as well as K-9. How does one make K-9 the default? The latest version of K-9 has taken out the Email frequency check from the settings so I'm not sure hot to set the interval for email check.
I've had my Hero on Orange for 4 or 5 days now and apart from when I first switched on the phone the weather app has just said "No weather data available" and the clock/weather widget has just had my location. I have the "location by cell" thing switched on, and I did manage to get it working once with the GPS, but other than that it just displays my location. It's the same whatever location I am in. The other cities download the weather just fine (London, Paris, New York, etc.). It's not like I'm somewhere tiny either, I am in Bromley. It doesn't make any difference whether I'm using WiFi or 3G.
