I cropped some desktop wallpapers I had so they'd fit the supposed Droid requirements of 960 x 854, but when I select them it makes me cut them down even more with a movable box... is there something I'm missing here or did I do it wrong.

Can someoen clarify for me ha and also when I'm searching for wallpapers do I want pixel resolution or screen size for best look.
What program do i need to make pictures wallpapers on the droid x ? looking for some Bengals cheerleader pics and some dukes of hazard wallpapers. i can find the pics but when i set as wallpaper it is way too big and looks like crap.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo anyways I was laying on the couch trying to figure out how to use a pic I have as a wallpaper for my evo. Then it suddenly came to me...use power point. So I went to my laptop opened up power point and copy and paste the pic to it. I change the background of the presentation cause the pic was black and I just centered it then stretched it from top to bottom then saved it on my phone. And lo and behold it fit just perfectly and it kept the same resolution without losing any pixels! So if you wanna try it that way you can. As for the presentation on the background I just made it the same color of the background of the pic. If the color is too crazy I just made it black.
Additionally you can do the same thing with a wallpaper on your PC and just follow the same steps except stretch it until it covers the entire background presentation. Also make sure you save it as a JPEG format too. I hope that this helps with those that are frustrated with the crop feature on the Evo.
When setting a pic as my wallpaper why does it always give me the green box to crop a certain bit of the picture, Why cant i have the FULL picture?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid X and when I take a photo in portrait mode, it looks nice and sharp on my screen...I can see the entire photo and it is perfect. Then when I try to set it as my wallpaper, it forces me to crop in on the photo which kills the quality. I just want to use the whole photo so it looks JUST like the screen right after I snap the photo. Are there any apps out there that will let me do that? Seems stupid to have to offload the photo onto a PC, resize it to 960x854, and then upload it back to the phone to that it will fit perfectly.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to put a custom boot animation on my moto droid 1. I have root I have done it before and I am using froyo. My big problem now is that I tried putting a different one I downloaded on and it worked. So I need someone to tell me whats wrong with the one I made, because I am out of ideas. I have compared size, resolution, ppi, bit depth but for some reason my images are way bigger files. The sequence was created by using virtualdub to clip a section of an animated short, then exporting an image sequence as png.
But I've fed the images through gimp and an image resizer. The frames are only some of them because I went through deleting every other frame a few times to cut down on the total size. The file is too big to attach here so i put it on my web space at:

I am using the patch that lets me put the files in datalocal and be named bootanimation.zip. it works I've tried with other animations like I said.
My wife's Incredible will automatically rejustify the margins of a web page when she enlarges the type size, and will rejustify the margins if she then shrinks the type size. I cannot get the X to rejustify in this manner, except sporadically on BBC News. At the Verizon store, the Flextronic tech went through the systems menus and could not get the margins to justify either. Anyone know how to make the X rejustify the margins?

On any number of my previous phones, the phone would automatically resize the image so that it wasnt too large to send. That does not appear to be happening on the Eris. I sent one photo, and it was nearly 1100kb. Then another photo I attempted to send would not attach, because it said it was too large (it was like 1250kb in size). So, is there a way to have it automatically resize a photo that is being sent via MMS? Or will I need to do that manually beforehand with an app from the Market, like Picasa or something of the sort?

I have been doing quite a few iphone specific websites and I always use: <meta name = "viewport" content = "width = device-width; minimum- scale=1.0; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=no;" /> Now I tried a site that is using that declaration in the android emulator with a 854 x 480 resolution. Even with the declaration above its scaling graphics and text. I would assume that I have 854 x 480 at my disposal. Can somebody explain how I can disable any resizing? Never had any of those issues in the 1.x Android OS devices and iPhone OS.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to attach a picture file on my droid eris for a message, it automatically resizes it, only problem is, that the pictures were never too big to begin with, usually aroun100-300kb and then when it does resize it, it goes down to 12kb on average, a tiny picture with a big black frame on the screen. What gives? Using stock message program. No other complaints about the message program, so not looking to switch.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a very high res wallpaper app? I woulnd't mind dropping a little change in the developers pocket as long as it is a quality app.
I have tried and cant seem to get any picture to show up right on the droid x for a wallpaper. How are you guys doing it. I found some pics to make a wallpaper and then resized then 960x854. I then sent to my gmail account and saved then put as a wallpaper which doenst look right at all.

I have an image on my phone that fits the screen perfectly but when I go to set it as a wallpaper it wants to crop it and cut the image pretty much in half which is really dumb. Anyway around this?

However I have noticed an issue. after enough switches the wallpaper updates, but the lockscreen background reverts to the droid X default.
Only rebooting the phone seems to help.

Whenever I use my facebook widget or handcent quick reply, as i'm typing with the virual portrait mode keyboard once I reach a certain amount of characters my screen flashes and one of the default wallpapers that comes with the droid replaces my LWP. Why is it doing this? Once i finish the message I can go back and change the wallpaper, but it's really annoying how it changes by itself

Today I took a call from the missus and when it ended and went back to the homescreen, the wallpaper had changed to that horrible yellow one. I've had this happen a couple of times now, once when exiting Messaging, and today, exiting the Phone.
Is there somewhere I can send a bug report to google for this? Anyone else had this happen? Is there a quick simple fix?
I want make a photo, thats the size of the default screen, my wallpaper. But the trick is I want it to stay in place when scrolling left or right to the other screens, not 'slide' like they normally do.
Is this possible?
Can it be dowoaded some how? Last night I found the apk but it said it wouldn't work on this phone I found it at xdaforums.
