Motorola Droid X :: How To Copy Phone Numbers?
Sep 7, 2010So there was a couple times i wanted to copy a persons phone number from my contacts so i could text message it to someone but, i cant do it. i guess i can send a name card but i'd rather be able to copy the contacts phone number. I try long pressing the number, but no luck. Any tips on how to do this?

Nov 23, 2010When I connect my DX to a computer with the USB cable, I usually use "PC Mode" or "Windows Media Sync" instead of "USB Mass Storage". Because (a) then I can still access the SD card on the phone, and (b) I don't need to remember to unmount the SD card from the PC before disconnecting the cable.
The strange thing is that on my work computer, I can copy files from the phone to the computer no problem. But on my home computer, when I try to copy a file, nothing happens. (I have Windows XP on both computers). I see the SD card directory tree in Explorer on the PC. I drag a file from one of the SC card folders into a folder on my PC. But then nothing happens.
If I use "USB Mass Storage", then it works well okay.

Sep 7, 2010I've been trying to download the "Desktop Visualizer" (a free app) but it wasn't showing up in the market, and no matter how I tried (QR codes, direct links, appbrain), I couldn't get it to download. Turns out it's copy protected, which seems to be the problem. I'm running 2.1 on my milestone (rooted) but I've googled a bit, and other rooted people don't seem to have this problem. Does anyone know what's causing it, and, if known, how to fix it?

Aug 16, 2010I'm upgrading from my Droid 1 to the Droid X tomorrow and would like to start my use of the DX with it's new 32gb card in place of my old 16gb card from my Droid 1 but need to know if there's anything required to copy from my droid 1 16gb card to my new DX 32 gb card that would be required or helpful in the DX use.I will obviously transfer music/vids/pics but are there any essential files, apps, etc. that are needed.Or is it a good idea to use my paid MyBackupPro to copy the old Droid 1 apps/data for use in the DX larger memory card or is this not copatible to perform between the 2 devices?

Jul 31, 2012All I want to do is get the pictures that are on my phone in my "My Gallery => My Library" folder onto my PC.It should be so simple, yet nothing I do works.My camera is set to Storage Location: SD Card...I plug in my USB cable and my phone pops up with 4 options:
1) PC Mode
2) Windows Media Sync
3) USB Mass Storage
4) Charge Only
I obviously tried USB Mass Storage first.When I open "My Computer" on the PC i have 3 choices:
-Removable Disk (M)
-MOT (L)
-MotoCast (I wont use this, its horribly designed and a huge pain to use)
None of those choices will show me my entire Library. No matter what i do, I only get the pictures that I had previously copied from my old phone onto this one.Then i tried PC Mode. This time i get a pop-up with a bunch of options tht look useless.I open My Computer and get the smae thing as before.
Why in the world did Motorola make this so ridiculously complicated? When i plug in the USB cable I should get a simple pop-up with one of the options asking me if i want to see my SD card.

Jul 17, 2010I m little confuse. i have a wallpaper folder on the sd card with files to use as wallpaper. i would resize using the yellow crop & save. why does it save another copy? why does it not just use the original file? so now the wallpaper folder has two copies of the same file.

Oct 29, 2010Does anyone know how to make a copy of my clockworkmod bootstrap app into an .apk that I can put on my sdcard? When I keep installing new themes, and flashing back to .sbf, the most annoying part is signing back in to my phone to have to download the bootstrap then wipe my phone again. I am by NO MEANS trying to cheat the developer out of profits he makes selling this app, just trying to more "effectively" use the copy I paid for.

Nov 11, 2010I picked up my Droid 2 this past Saturday, and immediately ordered a 16GB Transcend Class 6 micro SD card for it. To install it, I plugged my Droid into my PC (Linux machine), un-hid all the hidden files, copied them to my desktop, then disconnected the Droid, took the stock card out, plugged the new card in, and copied the files back. After a reboot of the Droid, everything seemed OK.The problems started while copying songs onto the Droid. The copy process froze, and ever since, the phone had problems with this card. It's sluggish, and hangs on shut-down.Is there a proper way to upgrade to a new card that I don't know about? The guys at the Verizon store didn't have any ideas.
