Is there any way to transfer everything (apps, settings etc)from one Droid to another, like the switch device option on the Blackberry Desktop Manager?I just spent 4 hrs customizing my phone just to find a dead pixel on the screen and need to have it swapped out. Don't want to go through it all over again.

In hopes of transferring my apps I installed Titanium Backup, then a system update I found on the forum to allow it to root, which it did not.I would like to back up my Droid, then remove all changes to the OS b4 returning.If anyone has some quick steps and directions for me I would appreciate it.I am new to this whole idea of rooting.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI probably nuked my Droid doing something, either messing with it rooted or cold/snow/moisture got to it. I'd be in the middle of a call and the other person wouldn't hear me. This would happen randomly. I went to Verizon and they simply shipped me a new phone.
Now that I have it, i thought all my apps would be on the SD card. Nope. I can only get back Apps that are the Market has marked as needing update. all my other apps are gone. How can I move them along with my custom setting like GDE etc?
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to do nandroid backups without losing all of your settings and apps. With all the Rom's floating around I feel like I'm doing nandroid updates every day and also losing all my settings too... Is there a way around this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a good program to backup your all your apps, files, shortcuts, bookmarks and personal settings. I know Astro has a "backup" function but I don't know what it actually backs up. I know you can back up your contacts Google.
I guess what I'm asking is if there's a way to "clone" your Droid, not just the SD card.
I downloaded the V Cast Media manager and I imported my playlists from iTunes. I transferred everything to my D2 but it only transferred the Songs. Not the playlists. Is there a way to transfer by playlist or do I have to manually move songs into playlists on my phone?

View 49 Replies View RelatedI'm on 2.2 bugless beast .4 right now. Tonight I was transfering a movie to my phone via usb. Long story short, I needed to cancel the transfer in the middle and remove my phone. Now my phone is freezing like mad, and I absolutely can't connect to my computer (not to mention that freezes it completely.) Removing the SD card seems to help, but not much. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this?

Install Motorola Driver
Open Folder to View Files
Okay, should be the second option. But when I click on this (Open Folder), the only folder options I get are things like: Autorun, Config, Setup, etc.). No "folders" per se.
I purchased Beautiful Widgets last week so I could check it out before I got my Droid X. I get my Droid X delivered tomorrow and I want to know how I can get Beatiful Widgets (on my Droid currently) on my Droid X without purchasing it again? When I transferred them over to the Droid, then using the app Android and Rings Extended (no longer working - now coming up as 3rd party app) all my ringtones got significantly shortened.
I had them all set up as MP3 and small (220kb or less). Each one was 30 seconds long or less. Both applications hacked them off between 10 and 20 seconds. Anybody else having this issue?

I know how to connect/mount my droid to the computer, and have successfully transferred amazon mp3's that I purchased in the past. Just recently, I began experiencing problems. When I try to drag and drop, I get error messages saying that the file cannot be transferred because it is "in use." Or when I attempt to drag and drop to itunes, basically itunes freezes and I have to force quit.

I recently moved to Sprint, where I have an HTC Hero on the way soon. I'm curious if the Google account I originally used with my Nexus One is linked to the applications I've already purchased and if by using that same account when my Hero arrives if I will be able to install those same applications w/o having to repurchase them. It makes sense in my mind as they were not sold with the Nexus One as the phone was wiped, but I'm not sure if that's the way it will work. Any incite?
View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got myself a new 16gb memory card, and want to put in my rooted Hero with Elelinux 1.6, but having trouble.Heres what I've done so far:
* I copy/pasted everything from my old membery card onto my pc desktop.
* Put new mem card into my hero - sorted out the partitions (in case I go back to 2.1 and need app2sd)
* Formatted the sd card within Android
* copy/pasted everything from my pc desktop onto my new memory card
The problem is, none of my installed apps/widgets are there. I tried to install Titanium from the marketplace, but for some reason wasn't able to - it just sort of hung on the download screen, (even though I didn't actually choose to download it?)
My droid has broken but I can still use 't. I was wondering if there is a wan to transfer my apps over to my new phone so I don't lose them or have to redownload them all. Like a file jpampddp app? Tried astro file Manager? I have a droid incredible 2

My dad and I both have the Droid; i'm in my early 20's, he's in his late 50's, and we both LOVE the phone.My dad is trying to transfer a video (in the .wmv format) to his Droid so he can watch it at any time. He can successfully transfer the video but when he goes to the gallery to find it he has a lot of trouble, sometimes the phone crashes and he can never find the file.Anyone have any ideas? Does he need a different media player? He is open to any new apps (free or not) and is very interested in finding a solution for this.

However, I want to make playlists via computer GUI and transfer that file. How do you do it. I can create play lists through the phone but that is tough using a phone.
I want to do it like I did with double twist and just copy that to my phone but for some reason now DT wont work on my phone. This is a huge deal breaker, transferring songs is ok, but I want to organize it/make play lists on my PC which is much easier and then transfer it over. With the imminent arrival of the Magic I was wondering what impact this would have on both end users and developers who want to transfer their apps over, or may even have both handsets for whatever reason. I've been using the 2gb microsd that came with my phone til now, but I'm out of space so I had to upgrade. All my apps and games have been saving onto the sd instead of my phone since day one(not sure if this can be altered). I need to know how to transfer all the apps onto my new microsd card without having to reinstall them all after switching.
Also, I edited the build.prop making the phone thinks it's an optimus 2x(I think thats the name of the phone) so that I could play Order and Chaos Online. Not sure if that would change anything needed for this task.
