I'm looking for a way to copy all my text messages from my old windows mobile phone to the Droid... any ideas? I've found a lot of programs that do backup import/export, but can't figure out how to do from WM to Android...

I currently using an iPhone but i just ordered a new nexus one. I'm just wondering, is there a way to transfer all my text messages from the iphone over to the nexus?
By the way, my iPhone is jailbroken so I can easily export the sms.db file where all the messages is stored.
I need some serious help locating a sms app to transfer text messages from my phone to email or to my SD card. I mean both text and pictures. I have a weakness for saving text messages and have over 7500 for one person. This causes my phone to force close, freeze and texting now takes over 15 minutes to text people.

I know how to transfer most of my stuff from one to the other (google sync, paid apps should be in the new market, save pics and docs to SD card, etc.), but is there a way to transfer my texts? I've been using Handcent, if that makes a difference.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wifes ZTE Blade 1 phone broke (graphics chip broke) but have a spare ZTE Skate. Luckily I have a clockworkmod image of the broken phone & have extracted the data from it to get the mmssms.db & telephony.db files.
However, when I paste them over the exsiting files (have root etc) & reboot I get force close errors & have to replace the old files back.
There is no way to boot the old phone & backup the messages - the only way to get the messages back is to get the mmssms.db to work.
I have some sms messages stored on my sim card. I would like to backup them by copying them to phone memory.Android would only allow me to see these messages (Manage sim card messages) but won't allow me to import them.

Anyway, I've been without a working device for a week now as I wait for my DX to arrive. I just check voice mail a couple times a day to make sure I'm not missing anything important. On the other hand, I have to imagine I have a serious back log of texts. A buddy of mine said he thought the DX (which my wife currently has) could be configured to retrieve texts from more than one account (phone number). Is that possible? Is there any other way to retrieve text messages other than with an activated device?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently been having issues with text messaging. About half of the texts that I try to send end up in a "pending" state. If you go to the factory messaging, and long press on a message, there is an option to "View Report" and that is where it has the pending status. I can't seem to figure out a rhyme or reason to this, but they don't actually get sent to the people I'm trying to send them to. Does anyone have any ideas? I've been fine with the stock messaging program, but would Handcent fix this? I'm up for trying anything at this point, as long as I can text and be sure the people are going to get them. BTW I was hoping the 2.0.1 update would fix this, but I force loaded the update and it's still doing it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted 2.2 DX, and on 2.1 when I got a new text it would jump to the top of the list with a blue dot next to it. Now ever since I upgraded to 2.2 I still get the blue dot next to my unread text messages but it doesn't jump to the top of the list. I don't know if that is just how froyo works now or if it's an issue just on my phone.

I don't know what the problem is, but for some reason I've been getting like 5-10 duplicates of text messages from some people. It's usually different people at different times and it's on various carriers.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI gave my wife my D2, did a factory reset on it beforehand. She's been playing on it now for almost a week with no problem until today..
It started off with her gallery, when you try to go into the gallery it will kick you right back out into the launcher. I can use astro to get to her pics but any pics she takes now won't work. So then she went into her messaging app, all it does is cycle, it won't load up any messages at all.. I really don't know what's wrong with it, trying to avoid a factory reset if I can, but I will if it's my only option.

The only program I can see that could be causing it is SMS Pop Up, but I don't know if that is a culprit or has been known to do that. View 2 Replies View RelatedJust got a Droid X... coming from 3 years of horrible T-Mobile, so I'm excited to be on verizon finally! One problem though, and big because I text a lot - I notice my text messages are being delayed. They often come maybe 5 minutes later in groups of 3 or however many on in queue. It looks as if my phone is only checking periodically... how can I troubleshoot this? Perhaps it's a signal issue but I can still send texts and also receive calls.
