I purchased an Eris 28 days ago with my NE2, and am upgrading to the Incredible tomorrow w/in the 30 day return window. I know how to transfer most of my stuff from one to the other (google sync, paid apps should be in the new market, save pics and docs to SD card, etc.), but is there a way to transfer my texts? I've been using Handcent, if that makes a difference.

My wifes ZTE Blade 1 phone broke (graphics chip broke) but have a spare ZTE Skate. Luckily I have a clockworkmod image of the broken phone & have extracted the data from it to get the mmssms.db & telephony.db files.
However, when I paste them over the exsiting files (have root etc) & reboot I get force close errors & have to replace the old files back.
There is no way to boot the old phone & backup the messages - the only way to get the messages back is to get the mmssms.db to work.
I have some sms messages stored on my sim card. I would like to backup them by copying them to phone memory.Android would only allow me to see these messages (Manage sim card messages) but won't allow me to import them.

By the way, my iPhone is jailbroken so I can easily export the sms.db file where all the messages is stored.
I'm looking for a way to copy all my text messages from my old windows mobile phone to the Droid... any ideas? I've found a lot of programs that do backup import/export, but can't figure out how to do from WM to Android...

I've read about text message issues on the Hero, but so far not anything about the Eris yet. I have a memory card reader, but if i'm right, you can only retrieve photos from the SD card? View 14 Replies View RelatedFor some reason when someone text messages me it plays no sounds. Just started it today. I checked all volume settings and everything is on. Even selected a new ringtone still no go. It plays sounds so its not the speaker. Any way to fix this?
Also I fixed my numbers not coming up in my gmail contacts sync last night. Now the phone wont recognize my gmail contacts. I made sure all sync settings were turned on. Anyone know how to fix this. Search the forums and went to manage applications and cleared all google apps still no go.

So I received a text message from someone not in my contact list. The sms came from someone that said ##########@vtext.com.I didn't know who it was and responded who are you. Now I realized who it is before they responded back and want to text that number again but have no idea how to find that text.Anyone have any idea how to view texts that are not attached to a contact or even review all texts for that matter?

On my old phone there was a check mark next to the message if it was delivered to a Verizon customer.This was nice because then I would know if that person had their phone on.Is there anything like this on this phone?

Now the Eris is very laggy, and deleting the other threads of texts helped, but everytime i try to delete this thread of 2800 (and counting) texts the program crashes and i have to force close it. I am using the OEM eris messages program.

When getting a new text, it acts as if its on silent and not vibrate or anything but when i receive a phone call it vibrates. So i download Handscent to see if it vibrates with that app and it didnt. I have been throuh all the settings it seems like and I still cant get a vibrate with new sms messages.
View 45 Replies View RelatedFor some reason no matter what I do I can't seem to get my vibrate to work when I receive a text message. It used ti work until one day it just stopped. I have tried everything I could think of except doing a hard reset, which I don't really want to do. It seems to only not want to work with text messages. Phone works fine, as far as vibrate goes, and anything else that vibrates works without a problem.

I literally pushed the delete button when i went to bed the other night and 6 hours later nothing had happened except that i needed to pull my battery.
