I was really excited to be one of the 25 lucky ones to get a droid x today, but my camera doesn't seem to be working. At first it worked fine, just seemed a bit laggy, then allof a sudden the phone would restart wheni would open the camera app. Now the camera app just shows a blackscreen. I have reset the phone and restarted several times with no change.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to froyo and when I open the camcorder, it just opens and closes very fast. I restarted my phone and the camcorder was opening but after a minute it started closing again along with the camera. Anyone else?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy camera used to work perfectly. My pics were amazing, and it was just amazing. The focus was never off. Clear, crisp, sharp images. Now, out of nowhere it seems, the camera won't focus. My images are EXTREMELY blurry. It's terrible. Even when I'm just setting up to take the pic, the image looks blurry on the screen. It's bad enough that I can no longer even get the barcode scanner to work. I'm assuming that something wrong with my lens and not anything to do with software etc. And yes, I've cleaned it. And cleaned it. And cleaned it to no avail.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy auto focus has been really inconsistent recently, some days it will work for a little but for the most part it doesn't focus anymore. I've also been having a lot of issues with the headphone jack, what should I do? btw, my insurance on my phone is protectcell. Do you think they would consider upgrading me to a Droid 2 or a better phone? (my phones rooted, I changed roms to see if that was the issue, but the problem still occurs)
View 2 Replies View RelatedGot the Droid X on 7/15, everything was great, got the system update, now the camera won't work. Black screen only, even though both the Camera and Camcorder apps behave like they're working (with a black screen). Cannot take pictures at all, can take video, although no image is shown and playback of videos is a completely black screen.
I look in the camera and it looks like the shutter is open, although I'm not 100% certain what a closed shutter would look like. I think I can see the lens.
I did a full System Restore, the problem did not go away.
I've tried the camera app from the marketplace, facebook, etc., all treat the camera in the same way: just a black screen.
Trying to take a picture, the focus noise doesn't even sound.
This was working prior to the update, albeit in a leggy manner. Should I return my Droid X, or is there some other software / use fix I have not tried?
I have taken videos with the Droid in the past, but the past few days, as soon as i toggle the camera switch UP to capture a video, it gives me a force close screen. i have restarted the phone a few times, but same thing..
also, sometimes the camera button does nothing when trying to use it to bring up camera , i have to manually go to drop down list of apps to get to it. not a HUGE problem, but still a problem when it doesn't do what its made to do.
My camera stopped working. When I click my camera application I get the message "The application camera (process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". It's just a blank screen?

Every time I press it to use my camera it keeps lowering my ringer volume and when im in the camera mode(from app) it wont snap any pics, it just takes me back to my main page and lower the volume. If I hit the track ball as usual it acts as though it's taking a picture though it's also nothing but black. What am I missing here? BTW, I'm on 2.1 and did a factory reset two days ago.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I spent the last hour or more in my backyard in 107 degrees taking pictures of flowers at stock settings with both phones. NOT an easy task I will tell you that. My back hurts, but besides that... I did my best to show the best quality of BOTH cameras, because they are both great. I realize that not everyone will agree with me, or will think I messed with something in my pictures. But these are all completely stock settings, not messed with at all. I only touched the flash on/off button.
My decision is I like the X camera better, it is easier to focus, and much snappier. Plus designated camera button! I found on the Incredible while the pictures look great on the phone itself and in gallery, that as soon as they were uploaded the colours looked washed out and not as great. I know this is due to the AMOLED screen. But both overall great. My decision is the X though.

After finally getting ADC0.3BetaDark up and running, I can no longer access SetCPU.I uninstalled it, then reinstalled, let it search my phone automatically, and it freezes at the SU request.Also, when puttin SU into Terminal Emulator, I get stuck.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Flash on the camera has stopped working all of a sudden. I checked the camcorder and the light (flash on) didn't work. I tapped the back of the phone near the flash. It worked. I went back to camera and turned on flash, it worked. So by tapping something I jigged something around in there and the flash was working.

Obviously having hard time with people at the shop ("have you tried taking these pictures at night, maybe it understands that it is still daytime even if you tried it in bathroom"). My dumb brain would suggest that manual - flash always on (unless that 5% battery limit is not hit), automatic - depends on sensor income, off - no flash. Really hard to search for stuff like that in forums as usually "flash not working" refers to Adobe Flash.

So first time what I did was make a factory reset and everything was back to normal,and that was beforo Froyo, now when I am running Froyo, I wonder when I make a factory reset does it turns me all the way back to the stock desire, without new software version and Froyo update? Is there a hack you can do to make it better? I heard somewhere its a compression and fps issue. Please don't give me answers like "the Evo's quality is great" or "get a real camera".

Just got the phone today I was putting music on my phone from doubleTwist everything was going fine.
Then i put pictures / videos on my phone and i started getting an SD error and my camera stopped working.
So i reformatted the SD card and the card started to read fine but the camera is still not working
The camera / video looks like its just flashing red & white no picture at all.
(I tried google goggles as well and it looks the same)
Camera was working FINE before SD problems started
Tried doing a factory reset too
I'm trying to get the camera preview running on my G2.

While I know you can use camera magic for your camera needs with a froyo rom..figured I'd share the good news. There is a CELB 1.9 rom (aka erislightning bolt froyo) that has WORKING cam...the gallery still goes funky when you try to view sideways but the cam DOES indeed have a working preview!

After many frustrations i just had to comment on the updates out there.NOT all the froyo 2.2 updates are effective. after loading one of the most popular ones, everything went right until it booted up.I had no camera, no video, and my SD card was constantly looking for errors!after searching extensively, I figured what the heck, and seen a post for 2.2 WITH CAMERA that works advertised. I installed over the existing one, and when it rebooted ALL was well with my rooted 2.2 incredible.
Couple of things I do agree on..Make sure you have ASTRO loaded, and ROM Manager. Make no mistake I am not Technically Brilliant but it is easy with these programs. The file that worked flawlessly and got my camera back was ...

I called Sprint's tech support and the lady said that Sprint did not work the bugs out of it for their phones yet, and that I have to go to the store and have them completely wipe it. This is unacceptable because I literally have put thousands of things on my evo. Is there anything else that can be done?

It also does not want to close and eventually shows a message that application stopped working and needs to close.
