Feb 24, 2010has anyone noticed that viewing picz while zoomed in displays really poor image quality? this only seems to happen in the 2.1 gallery. i noticed this way back when the apk for 2.1 gallery was released and i tried it out. double tapping to zoom in resulted in a very pixelated and low quality zoom while in regular 2.0 gallery, there was no problem. pics zoomed in still displayed crisp sharp quality. with all the custom roms nowadays, this problem is still there. I'm using sholes 2.0.6 still, with my camera taking highest quality pics with highest resolution. I'm pretty sure this is just isolated to viewing pics in 2.1 gallery because if i viewed the same pics in camera mode, there's no problem. no one else noticed this? is 2.1 gallery just broken like that or what?

Dec 27, 2009Do you think it will come a time when we can view e-mail pictures that are embedded in the e-mail? Hate when I get a forward and can't view the pictures. Am I missing something? It seems only when people officially attach the file is when I can see it. Other than that..I get the blue box with a "?" in the middle.

Jun 18, 2009I'm animating a an ImageView from the right to the left of the screen using a translate animation. The ImageView is place inside a RelativeLayout over the top of my main layout using FrameLayout. When I run the animation on the emulator everything works pretty well but when I use run it on my G1 it leaves visual artifacts behind and effects the rendering of the text component behind it. Is this a performance issue and I'm being too ambitious or is it a bug I can overcome? If it is a performance issue is there anything I can do to improve things?

The reason I won't purchase the basic $99 handheld device is they only provide room for 5 character names and I just can't provide enough waypoint info. but nav apps seem to offer more room for details.

Sep 9, 2010I don't know if this is an Android in general or Desire specific problem but I imagine all the sharpest minds have HTC Desires anyway so here goes:How do you get rid of the trail of previously visited sites that you step back though in the browser when you press the phone's back button? After clearing the history these pages persist and it seems the only way to lose them is to step back though each of them with the back button until you reach your home page when the next press finally 'closes' the browser. It's very annoying, especially if any of the pages you've visited have POST data or redirects.

Apr 13, 2010I am new on android and building an application which uses webservice to collect user information in XML. I also get path for a small jpeg picture of each user. (Currently there are about 200 users) I am parsing the XML and storing the information in SQLiteDatabase. Pictures are stored as blob and able to retrieve them.
I display names of users on listview with images as well. But is this a good solution for storing pictures in SQLite Database ? or should consider storing it in file system ? Which is suitable in terms of performance , as well as memory and any other pro and cons on Android.
Also like to know which is best performing XML parser for Android ?
My purpose is only to parse xml files which I get through web services and sort out the data to store in storage. And lastly my memory goes off easily when I load all images to display in list view after making thumbnails of each (which is obvious).
Was wondering is there any library/framework/app available which dynamically loads images as and when required (when that list item is on display) something like Gallery program ?
General :: View PC Files Over USB On Android Like When Using Windows To View Droid Files
Jun 29, 2013My searches all bring back ways to transfer files using my Windows Explorer on my PC Interface via USB and on Android "Es file explorer" using wifi.
I use ES file Explorer to view shared folders on my PC via wifi. I want to do the same thing only faster through USB. Similar to how you connect the android to your pc and it shows the internal sd and external sd in windows explorer.
For example... I want to browse my vast collection of "Justin Bieber's Monkey confiscated by German customs for excessive spanking" pics on my pc to find one that looks good as my android wallpaper. I dont want to use wifi and cant load the 74GB of pics from my pc on my 8 GB SD card on my Android to go through them.
