View 12 Replies View RelatedSo my droid just deleted about 1,000 or so text and picture messages among 5 or 6 different threads. I don't know what I could have done to cause this, as I've had "never delete messages" selected since day one.
I've seen a few more instances of this happening on other forums, but no mention of it here. Has anybody else run into this bug? It's infuriating.
My unrooted droid on 2.1 deleted all my text message threads in the stock messaging app even the locked ones. What I don't get is ALL the picture messages are gone but the dialer storage is 10.6 mb. What the heck? It should be almost zero.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just noticed something that is quite annoying in the native gmail app. If you "reply" to an email, but change the address you are replying to, you lose the ability to see the original message of the thread on your Droid. Here is an example. A friend of mine, Jane, was organizing a ski trip and sent out and email to the 20 people that were going with the details (dates, addresses, prices, contact info, etc). I replied to the email, but changed the address to John's email, because he was going to be driving me and I didn't want to reply to all. John and I continued the thread with multiple messages back and forth to setup details of when we were leaving. In all versions of g mail (on both my desktop and my Droid), I see "Jane, Me, John (8) >> ski trip details..." for this thread. When I am in the browser version of g mail (either desktop or the Droid browser) I can click on the thread and see all 8 messages. However, in the native g mail app on the Droid, I click on the thread, see the last message, and behind that it only says "6 read messages" (there should be 7 more) and when I expand them, Jane's original message is the one missing. The thread comes up though when I search for Jane's email address or any of the text within Jane's original email. But I can't read it.

"Please help" "What do I do" titled threads that give no clue about the thread content. If you want people to take notice let them know what the thread is about. Yea, eventually I will check out a thread titled "Oh No!" (morbid curiosity) but my first pick is one with a title that catches my interest.This has been a public service announcement. The thread titles have been changed to protect the innocent.

What is more surprising is that a friend told me today that his complete CONTACT list was deleted from the phone! What is going on with these Droids that are making them delete information like this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst of all I am very pleased with the Droid (including the keyboard) and Android OS 2.0. Have been playing with it since december 13th and I especially love the texting app. In my home, Berkeley CA, it worked great, but now in Puerto Rico there seem to be some glitches. I turned off the auto delete messages because I prefer that. Not sure if its because I disabled the auto delete or because I am in Puerto Rico, but randomly when I go to my texting app, all my threads will be gone. This has happened to me twice now within a week.

I have deleted several of my text message threads but they show up in my contact history and I cant get rid of them how do I permanently get rid of them . where they show up in contact history is if you delete a text thread and then you go to that persons contact info and swipe left 3 times the text thread is there , how do you delete this from this location ?

I am writing a streaming audio player and from what I've read so far putting the code in a service will still end up blocking the application so a new thread is needed, does anyone know if it makes more sense to put this piece of code in a service.

Are these an Android 2.x feature only, or just not included in the version for the Magic because it's got dedicated answer and hangup buttons?
Either way, is there a way to add them to the Magic (either a setting I haven't found, or an app to do the same thing?) as it's rather annoying hanging up on people when you don't even know the phone was ringing because it's in your pocket, or when you do hear it ring you hang up or answer the call by touching the screen as you're getting the phone out of your pocket...
I'm looking for a way to create toggle icons for widgetlocker sliders (not touch widgets, want it in slider form).
The couple such as brightness and sound that are built in can just be changed in the theme but with making extra working toggle icon.
For instance, widget locker doesn't have a wifi action, I can use a Tasker Shortcut to switch the wifi on and off, just need a way for the icon to change with it.

If I pass http://www.ebay.com to this. Somewhere along the way ebay changes my url, perhaps a redirect. What's weird is Android java can't open the page. u = new URL(txturl.getText().toString());
I get the error below as it apparently opening the new mobile site. I'm just wonder at what point my url changes and If I somehow stop this. It does not appear to happen if I point to yahoo, google, amazon or other major sites. I just noticed this in my testing.

I think it might be the 'Customized ICS Styled Settings' mod, how can I get rid of it (would re-flashing ATOMODS work, just deselecting that option?)
In the emulator on touching my button I want its image to be changed. I just want to bring my mouse pointer there, without click. This can be observed for other keys of the emulator. On touch a blue image appears on the keys.

I've tried adding the JUnit 4 jar to eclipse and compiling/ running the tests by pointing a standard JUnit run against them, but nothing seems to happen.�There's no evidence in the eclipse console or the Android emulator that any tests have been run.
Can anyone with knowledge about this subject comment?�Is it even possible to run JUnit 4 tests under Android, and if so, is there a step-by-step explanation as to how to achieve this (preferably under Jetbrains IDEA IDE, and/or Eclipse).

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo here is the story basically. This is technically my third droid. The first one had something wrong with the screen where it wouldn't do anything I wanted. For instance...if I tried to press any of the keys on the right side of the screen, they wouldn't respond. Whatever...got the phone replaced in-store. Second phone comes, the slide is VERY loose. The screen actually had about a millimeter and a half on the left side of the screen that it would give when pressed. It made a very loud tap sound when pushed. OK, called Verizon tech support, they send me a DROID 2. I'm thinking SWEET. Not really... Not even 4 days into owning the thing, the screen randomly shuts off and won't come back on without a battery pull, sometimes 2 battery pulls. Over the past few days this has happened multiple times, each more frustrating than the last. I'm getting irritated with mototola. I just called Verizon and they are sending out yet another device. I'm getting annoyed with this whole thing. I shouldn't have to call tech support every other week it seems. Does anyone have a fix for this problem? I've done a factory reset, among other things. I have my old 16gb card from my D1 in there...could that do it? If anyone has had this problem and found a fix for it let me know. I also have the Verizon extended battery..could that be doing it? Please...any help would be appreciated. I'm rooted if that helps at all.

When I unlock it, the bar stays across the screen for a good 5+ seconds before it unlocks and my home screen shows up. Just wondering, my D1 was fast and didn't lag at all.

Despite me telling them that I will never give them my unlock pattern they managed to lock my phone out to the point where it asks for my google account. I tried login in with failed attempts. I even logged into google and changed my password and same results. I cannot use my phone anymore. Need help. Please respond. I need to know how to get my phone unlocked.
