In the emulator on touching my button I want its image to be changed. I just want to bring my mouse pointer there, without click. This can be observed for other keys of the emulator. On touch a blue image appears on the keys.

Creating a game in Android using multiple Buttons to display an image from the drawable folder. I want to change the button to a different image after the button has been clicked on.
Here is the button code:
CODE:.............
I can't find anything about how to change the actual image of the button. You can change the color of the button by using the following code in the java file: b36.setBackgroundColor(0xAA00AA00);

i've got this simple layout in a file derived from Activity
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ScrollView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:padding="10dip" > <ImageView android:id="@+id/photo" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" /> </ScrollView>
i'd like to change the imageview contents dynamically. which method do i need to overload - again this class is derived from Activity.

I am running into a very weird thing. I have an ImageView, and when I call setImageURI with an image, it seems to change the size of the image view.
CODE:..............
The default image is 195 x 195, i am trying to set the image to be 200 x 200, after setting the image using setImageURI, i get the dimensions back and it says it's 48 x 48.
I have tried a bunch of different android:scaleType parameters, and I couldn't find anything that worked.
I also tried explicitly setting the size (layout_width="200px") and it seems to work.

Over the past few days I have been trying to implement custom widget functionality. In this case I have instantiated a RemoteView containing some TextViews and an ImageView in one application's BroadcastReceiver. The BroadcastReceiver receives the intent signaling it to send the RemoteView to the calling application. When the calling application receives this RemoteView it uses apply to inflate the view properly and display it on the screen.
The problem occurs when the activity changes, the inflated RemoteView occasionally has information disappear. One time the image even changed into another image from a drawable located in the BroadcastReceiver's application. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and/or have a solution?
I have looked at posts concerning ImageViews in widget use and orientation changes. Is this problem related? I am not entirely sure. I am currently running Android 1.5 SDK and am not able to upgrade for this side project of mine.

I am having an EditText. If i specify image for the EditText in the layout XML file (android:back ground) it looks different and looks different when i specify it at runtime EditText et = (EditText)find ViewById (R.drawable .et1) ; et.setBackgroundDrawable (Main.themes.getDrawable (EDRAWABLES.EditText BackgroundImage )); Both codes point to the same image. When i specify the image at runtime , the EditText leaves a margin at the top and bottom of the cursor in the edittext which does not happen when i do it in XML. I have attached the screenshots of both images. Top image is the one drawn from XML and bottom one is given at runtime. I am not getting the difference ? Actually i am facing similar problems with other Widgets too if i change the logic of specifying the drawable at runtime and not at compile time.. Is this the default SDK behaviour? Wondering if I'm going about this the right way or not. I have 3 buttons on my screen (Restart, Previous, Next). When the view loads it shows the first image which is fine. When I click the "Next" button I want it to load a second image and so on for up to 9 images. If I click the "Previous" button it should go back one image. Clicking "Restart" should go to the first image. I have the Restart one working. I'm having trouble with the Next button because it only shows the second image (I think because my "a" variable is initialized at 0).

I'm trying to implement something that I don't even know if it's possible. So I have this class which implements a SensorEventListener like this:
private SensorEventListener mySensorEventListener = new SensorEventListener(){
@Override public void onAccuracyChanged(Sensor sensor, int accuracy) {
} @Override public void onSensorChanged(SensorEvent event) {
myCompass.updateDirection((float)event.values[0]); } };
And a class that handles the way the compass looks like this:
public static class compassLook extends View {
private Paint paintPointer = new Paint(Paint.ANTI_ALIAS_FLAG);
private Paint paintCircle = new Paint(Paint.ANTI_ALIAS_FLAG);
private Paint paintLeters = new Paint(Paint.ANTI_ALIAS_FLAG);
private boolean firstDraw; private float direction = 0 ;
public compassLook(Context context) { super(context); init();
} public compassLook(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); init();
} public compassLook(Context context, AttributeSet attrs, int defStyle) {
super(context, attrs, defStyle); init(); } private void init(){
paintPointer.setStyle(Paint.Style.STROKE); paintPointer.setStrokeWidth(3);
paintPointer.setColor(Color.argb(255, 209, 114, 2)); paintCircle.setStyle(Paint.Style.STROKE);
paintCircle.setStrokeWidth(2); paintCircle.setColor(Color.argb(150, 255, 255, 255));
paintLeters.setStyle(Paint.Style.STROKE); paintLeters.setStrokeWidth(1);
paintLeters.setColor(Color.argb(230, 255, 255, 255)); paintLeters.setTextSize(12);
firstDraw = true; } @Override protected void onMeasure(int widthMeasureSpec, int heightMeasureSpec) { setMeasuredDimension(MeasureSpec.getSize(widthMeasureSpec),
MeasureSpec.getSize(heightMeasureSpec)); } @Override protected void onDraw(Canvas canvas) {
int cxCompass = (getMeasuredWidth()/2); int cyCompass = (getMeasuredHeight()/2);
float radiusCompass; if(cxCompass > cyCompass){ radiusCompass = (float) (cyCompass * 0.9);
} else{ radiusCompass = (float) (cxCompass * 0.9);}
canvas.drawCircle(cxCompass-50, cyCompass, radiusCompass, paintCircle);
if(!firstDraw){ // Desenho da linha que aponta canvas.drawLine(cxCompass-50, cyCompass,
(float)(cxCompass-50 + radiusCompass * Math.sin((double)(- direction) * 3.14/180)),
(float)(cyCompass - radiusCompass * Math.cos((double)(-direction) * 3.14/180)),
paintPointer); double mLatitude = (mLocation.getLatitude() / 1E6);
// I get this value from a LM request double mLongitude = (mLocation.getLongitude() / 1E6);
// I get this value from a LM request double picLatitude= Double.parseDouble(picLatitudeString);
// I get this value from a bundle double picLongitude = Double.parseDouble(picLongitudeString);
// I get this value from a bundle float direction = (float)

2) + Math.pow(mLongitude-picLongitude,2)))/2;
//Desenho do texto que indica a distancia
canvas.drawText(String.valueOf(distancia) + "Km", cxCompass-30,
cyCompass+20, paintLeters); } } public void updateDirection(float dir)
{ firstDraw = false; direction = dir; invalidate(); } }

I would like to change margin of my buttons in application. Suppose I have 5 buttons like this in a linear layout, one below d other. When I focus on a button, its width should increase (which I know how to handle) and at the same time, width should increase linearly towards both left and right. i.e. If the current width of the button is 250 with x co-ordinate as 50 (that means button's left is 50 and button's right is 300), when I focus on the button I should get x co-ordinate as 75 (left = 25 and right = 325). How to change the margin/x co-ordinate of the button?

It appears that Android supports JUnit 3 out of the box.However, I have some pre-existing JUnit 4 unit tests that I'd like to try on Android. I've tried adding the JUnit 4 jar to eclipse and compiling/ running the tests by pointing a standard JUnit run against them, but nothing seems to happen.There's no evidence in the eclipse console or the Android emulator that any tests have been run.
Can anyone with knowledge about this subject comment?Is it even possible to run JUnit 4 tests under Android, and if so, is there a step-by-step explanation as to how to achieve this (preferably under Jetbrains IDEA IDE, and/or Eclipse).

You know when you call someone who doesn't have a photo linked to their contact it displays the green android guy. Well I really like what forum member sprint fun did with his avatar by making it into a OSU buckeye. I would much rather see that image rather then the green default android guy. Sprint fun has already said I could use the image, but I have no idea how or if its possible to set it as the default image for callers with no photo linked to their account.

I just bought a HTC Legend, and still getting through the n00b curve. I have tried Googling much as I can and now learned to live with issues such as no task manager and inability to actually terminate applications after use. Contrary to my old school Windows mentality I am going to trust the OS to manage the RAM and Battery. Better hold up!
Now I have let that issue go, I was wondering is there anyway to change the wake up key from power button to any other button. This is when the phone goes to sleep and to wake up I'd like to be able to press the Home button and get the screen to light up again. I have gone through preferences and was unable to find anything to change this. Any help please?
