Slight Update: Now using Slide Screen. Love its simplicity, and the ability to have all in one screen. It'd be nice if they allowed you to change wallpapers, and/or the side color rainbow thing. But all in all I love it. And I am not complaining. Go to Slide Screen by Larva Labs. Or search it in the Market.

I just found this on gizmodo this morning. Slide Screen is a new home replacement app that "creates a meaningful hierarchy out of a your information". It's really quite awesome. I went ahead and bought the pro version. I've only been using it for about 2 hours or so, but if you enjoy organized information, this is fantastic.

I'm trying to download the home replacement application Slide Screen by Larva Labs on my HTC Evo 4G but its not in the Market and when I click the download link on Slide Screen's web site I get a 404 error. Any idea if this app is no longer available or do I have to download it elsewhere?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried Home++ yesterday and didn't like it too much although I may just have to try it again. I didn't care for that "power strip" in Home++ either (can you turn it off?). I wished it would import all the icons from my regular home screen into Home++ so I don't have to re-create everything. Does anyone else out there have a better home screen replacement program? I saw people talking about GDE but I couldn't find the actual application in the Market Place. I also looked at the Panda Home but from the screen shots, it looked weird. I like the plain-jane version that came with my phone. I don't want fancy skins or colors or bells and whistles.

I couldn't even last the whole day - as soon as I got to work I switched it back over to sweeterhome. View 21 Replies View RelatedI've been playing around with Home++ lately and have really been liking the feel of this home replacement. Currently I'm using DxTop and while I am really impressed with it as well, I feel like changing it up a bit.
I'm just wondering if having both of them installed on my phone is going to kill the battery faster, make it lag, or generally cause any issues with normal phone operation. Also, if I select to use one of them as my default home screen, does it automatically stop the other one or will I have two home replacements running at once?
We all know the buttons are missing.. but are there any apps that could add widgets to the home screens? Or a home replacement?

He told me the password and I can use it to wake the phone up just fine but I use the slide screen, but now there is both password unlock and the slide screens. You will need ADW or LauncherPro and Desktop Visualizer and of course photo editing skills if you want to make a custom screen.

I've also heard that these apps don't play nice with the Droid's resolution/format/size screen. Has anybody tried any (or preferably all) of these three apps? Are you able to provide some of the pros and cons of each so I can make an informed decision? I would like to try out some of these options, I'm a huge customization freak.

I use the visible pattern lock and first have to slide to unlock then the phone goes to the visible pattern. The old operating system let you remove this but I can't find that on 2.2.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had the slide lock/accidental touch lock disabled in 2.1 bone stock phone. Got the 2.2 OTA. Installed without issue and has addressed many of my previous complaints (VPN, WiFi, speaker volume). Under settings / location&security, in the security section, I see only two options 'set up screen lock' (pattern/pin/password) and 'security lock timer'. Where is the option to turn on the slide lock? VZW support was completely clueless, as I have (sadly) come to expect. They transferred me to Motorola support, who says there should be a 3rd option there for the screen lock.

Heck the screen will shift almost 1/4 inch from top to bottom. I liked my old Droid and after almost 9 months of use it was still tight.My question is, did quality control miss my first or second Droid and will Verizon give me grief if I complain about it?

I tried lockbot, but it changes style on every lock, and it has some weird bug where if I use the button to lock it, it goes black, then the unlock screen appears (screen doesn't turn off). I do not care much about theming it myself as long as it has a halfway decent theme to begin with, but I do not want to pay for it (yes, I am cheap :P ) and want to get rid of the lag associated with the default lock screen.
View 19 Replies View RelatedSo my boyfriend has the Moto Droid. Every night he puts it on charger dock and in the morning picks phone up and its 100%, five minutes later it will die completely. He bought a new battery, plus a battery charger, a new car charger and home charger but it still does it. Basically has to be charged all day long to be used. Has this happened to anyone else?
Also, tried replacing. Upon receiving replacement it was rendered defective due too loose screen. New one coming friday.
Am i able to change the lock screen from an up and down slide to a side slide?

It is by far the fastest most stable home replacement I have ever used. It is in the market so I suggest you check it out if you are looking for something different!
