I love my Droid.But I need a better dialer that sorts my contacts using T9.I have way too many contacts to scroll through them all.Anyone know a good one that works with the droid.

What is a good free lock screen replacement? I tried lockbot, but it changes style on every lock, and it has some weird bug where if I use the button to lock it, it goes black, then the unlock screen appears (screen doesn't turn off). I do not care much about theming it myself as long as it has a halfway decent theme to begin with, but I do not want to pay for it (yes, I am cheap :P ) and want to get rid of the lag associated with the default lock screen.

I'm using launcher pro, and setting up all 7 home pages again takes a LOT of time.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI searched "contacts" and didn't see anything. I have a Moto Droid 1, was chatting with someone who has a Epic and their contacts app has a bunch more fields. I tried about 6 free ones from the Market and they all stunk really bad. I don't mind paying for one, I just want something that offers more than what I got. Also, would it be possible if I found somebody with a Samsung Epic for them to pull the .APK off their device and me putting it on mine? Mine's rooted if that helps.

I like the Eris a lot but there ARE a couple things that I think I'm getting tired of. First is it's slow most of the time, and second, the camera is just not living up to my expectations. I'm getting one for various issues plus the phone is completely dead right now.just wanted to know couple of things:How long did it take to arrive?What did u send back? phone & battery? or anything else..manual/box & etc.They said it might be here tomorrow or in 2-3 days...lol I guess I got really lucky also because they are all sold out everywhere & now sprint is sending to me directly & I didn't even have to leave my house.So far I'm liking Sprints customer service. I find this annoying, and I still want to use the standard Sense UI. I'd use something like the regular Homescreen, but then I'll make myself use Live Wallpapers. I also need it to have music controls, since I frequently use music on my Eris. Sorry if that sounded demanding.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Evo that hangs up on everyone that calls me.I keep the phone in my pocket and, in trying to pull it out to answer a call, my leg slides the bar.I could keep the phone in my pocket upside down and then I would answer every call but that isn't much of an alternative.I am looking for something that overrides the Sense's lockscreen/answer screen.I tried both GoTo and WidgetLocker.Both are great programs but neither addresses the incoming call issue.

View 10 Replies View RelatedBeen running Rubix since 1.6 release. Recently updated to 1.8.9. Been running it for a day then decided to theme it. I put Buyers Beware on it and ran it for half a day. Ran great!! Saved a backup and then flashed back to my bare 1.8.9 backup and installed Sinful Blue theme. Ran this theme for a day. Last night I noticed that my Settings menu was missing. It wasn't there. Couldn't find it anywhere. Opened spare part to look at battery info and it forced closed. Then I noticed that everything in spare parts FC'ed. Fed up I flashed back my good Buyers Beware backup. Once rebooted there was no service. Funny, unlocked the phone and there is no dialer. It says that application isn't loaded on my phone. Also my contacts app is gone. Gettin' worried. Flashed back to my bare 1.8.9 backup and everything works great. For kicks and giggles I rebooted recovery and loaded the Buyers Beware theme again, the one that worked great when I first installed....NO DIALER AGAIN! Back to bare 1.8.9 I go.

Now with Froyo sporting its own Bluetooth voice dialer, does anyone know if there's a way to switch to it? I am running 2.2. My biggest issue with the Motorola bluetooth voice dialer is that'll take up to 30 seconds from the time I press the dial button on my bluetooth device till it'll be ready for me to say a command. Totally unacceptable! Is my only option to go to a custom ROM?

View 27 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to see if I can get any good advice on a replacement phone for my work. The droid is my personal phone and I am up for a new device for my business phone. I have Verizon for my business phone as well and we are on a corporate plan. So the carrier has to be big V. I would try an android phone (other than the droid...I don't want two of them ) but I don't know how well android integrates with the Windows server for syncing contacts, calendar, outlook, etc. Any suggestions on phones currently out or coming out in the next month or two? Can have a physical keyboard or a decent touchscreen keyboard. I don't care as long as it works better than my HTC Touch did. Once I got my Droid. The resistive screen just didn't work for me anymore.

I called Vz this evening and they said they have finished sending out OTA updates for 2.2 and if I want it installed I have to go into a store.

Heck the screen will shift almost 1/4 inch from top to bottom. I liked my old Droid and after almost 9 months of use it was still tight.My question is, did quality control miss my first or second Droid and will Verizon give me grief if I complain about it?
