I have a Otterbox Commuter case coming in the mail, and would like to get a horizontal car mount to compliment it. Knowing the Motorola mount will not fit... Can anyone share horizontal car mount recommendations?

So has anybody found a slim case that you can have on your Droid while mounted in the media station of GPS car mount? I currently have the invisible shield on my droid but i'm debating about taking it off for a standard case.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I'm pretty new to rooting. On some themes or roms they require me to Mount System and Mount Data. I have clockwork recovery installed and when I select the option Mount System, it just acts like i didn't select anything. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst one broke 2 weeks ago I don't know what from but I've never dropped the phone with the case on and next thing I know I took it out of my pocket and the face plate was broken in the top right corner.This evening as I was walking home with my phone and case on it that I just got replaced about 5 days ago I dropped my phone screen down first, I thought it was done. Luckily it was safe though again the face plate is broken on my case.
I'm getting yet another replacement from Otterbox which is good..Really wish I could get a refund or voucher to use on their site for the cost of the case.
I currently have the leather snap on case that VZW sells, the little plastic clips that snap it on break way too easily so I am looking at higher quality cases and especially the Seidio and Otterbox cases. The Otterbox case looks higher quality IMO and also probably more protective. I just want to be sure that the plastic clips will not break and let the case fall off every 5 minutes. Any opinions would be helpful.

Much to my surprise they have, and it's coming soon! I still want a Defender case, but the Commuter is a nice series as well.DROID by Motorola Commuter Series Case // OtterBox.com What is nice about this though, the Otterbox case has plugs for all the ports on the Droid to keep out dust/ water and is made from a three layer protective material that absorbs shock fairly well, yet remaining slender. If you've ever dealt with their iPhone cases, you know how awesome they are.

I always used a dashboard beanbag mount with my Garmin GPS.
I just bought the Droid X Car Mount and I can now use my Garmin beanbag with it by inserting the ball joint into the back of Droid X car mount - fit's perfectly.
Does anyone know where we can buy Gel/rubber skins or some sort of cases that were actually made for the Droid?I've been looking everywhere. Usually Walmart (where i got my phone) sell the accessories for the phones they sell, but they dont for the droid.I really would like a working gel skin for it.but it says it wont ship til the 16th, and i'd rather get it much sooner.Im having such a hard time finding any accessories. AH! Nothing local has them.the official Motorola droid site seems broken. Shows gel's and stuff for the phone, but cant ever find them on the store page after you click the image.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was in the Verizon store and got a nice ugly orange hard case for it, and we had trouble clipping the piece on the front. We tried it on the demo and it wouldn't work. No big deal..just a bad mold, it happens. I decide to plop it down and get an Otterbox. Same deal. Tried that one on the demo, and it fit. We go back and open a couple more and try them, same deal. The orange one was defective, but the others were not and fit the demo as well as his own personal phone. Our only assumption can be that there is something wrong with the molding on my Droid, not allowing anything to clip on.

Just had a couple of quick questions. Keep in mind we're looking for the *gel* cases for the droid.I know that OEM skins/cases will cost more than the bargain skins/cases on ebay I'm guessing that some of the gel cases that cost more have had some more thought put into them and are probably higher quality (get what you pay for maybe?). I'm basically looking for personal recommendations for a brand or a website that sells GOOD QUALITY gel cases.I'm trying to avoid having to return something because it turns out that the gel case covers up the flash, the keys on the slide out keyboard, or wont allow the phone to be used in the car dock.. That kind of thing. Anyone have any success stories they can share?

However, I kept having the Droid come on in my holster and it was driving me batty how it would unlock on it's own. Then it hit me. The holster clips shut MAGNETICALLY.The Droid thought it was in a multimedia dock so it stayed on while on my side.THAT's why my battery was draining so fast.So, be sure to get a velcro or other type of holster, nothing with magnets.

I had a Body Glove one for my previous phone, a Samsung Glyde, worst phone ever made BTW, and it broke within 2 months, and I had another similar one for my Droid, the first one broke in less than a month and the one the store replaced it with broke in just over 2 months. Is there any decent cases for the Droid?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI picked up my droid, multimedia dock and hard shell clear verizon branded cases this morning (as im sure a lot of you have done also =) However in order to insert the droid into the multimedia dock I must remove the bottom portion of the case. Does anyone know if any other cases will work and not have to be removed? Perhaps the soft gel case that verizon is selling for the droid?

View 46 Replies View RelatedNever had a phone that was worth buying a case for. I have a hard shell case on my iPod and it's done a good job keeping the thing from getting beaten up (despite my repeatedly dropping it).
Is one better than the other (hard case vs. rubber)? Also, will putting a case on the phone stop you from being able to slip it into that multimedia station?
I am looking for a case that will prevent the keyboard from sliding out. I know I will more than likely not find what I am looking for because the slide out keyboard is a selling point for this phone, but mine keeps sliding out in my pocket and I am concerned that the open portion of the keyboard might bend, flex or crack if it is bent the wrong way. Maybe I am being paranoid, but it never hurts to be preventative

What makes them different/better than the hard case I got off of eBay. Serious question. I have used the cheap screen protectors off of eBay and I don't like them as well. Might as well go ahead and spend the dollars each for OEM ones lol.
