Motorola Droid :: Invisible Shield Screen Protector
Jan 24, 2010I recently ordered the invisibleshield protector for the screen of my droid, but it seems the concensus around here is that boxwave is the best.Is there anyone here who uses invisibleshield who can tell me what they think of it? I may send it back for a boxwave when it arrives if i decide to.

Apr 29, 2010Installed the IS on 2 incredibles this evening.Everything went well, they look great. Just a few tiny bubbles that should dry up.The phones have been "resting" for about 6 hours now. I plan on waiting the full 24 hours before i put the batteries back in and turn them on. I started reading some posts on other forums about how people have messed up their phones with water damage after installing the IS. Just wanted to see if anyone was having any trouble after installing the IS.I tried not to use alot of water, but there was some water coming out from under the IS when i was squeegeeing the bubbles out.Going to be a worrisome 24 hrs.

Apr 30, 2010I bought the zagg at bb today. They installed it and I dont like it at all. It does not look good, the texture is is not smooth, and it does not work well with swype. They said let it cure for 2 days. If i remove it does it come off clean?It may protect good but the cheap ones at verizon look better.

Apr 30, 2010Is it just me, or are they hard to put on? I used one of the 50% off coupons to pick up a shield for 10 bucks. When I got it, it took me 3-4 times to put it on, and still there were bubbles, even after 24 hours of drying.I contacted them and they were pretty much no help as I did everything already that they suggested.So I went to Best Buy today to pick up another one and to have them them install it for $7.99. It looks FANTASTIC. It took him about 3 minutes to do! They did have their own bottle of some liquid not the standard one that came in the package. Anyway, if you have trouble or want it done right, have them do it!

Apr 25, 2010What's your vote? They both look like strong contenders but it also looks like the Inv.Shields are thin and stretchy and the Clarivue are more stiff. Wouldn't stiffness aid in easy installation and fewer bubbles.How do these screens look through polarized sunglasses?

Jul 23, 2010And my finger doesn't glide over the screen as easily as it did before. I am hoping it is just some residue that will come off. Has anyone experienced this before? I tried wiping the screen down with a damp cloth but it didn't help.

Mar 14, 2010I got an Otterbox (IMPACT) case for my wife's Droid Eris. I have verified that when the case is on, the proximity sensor does not operate at all. Take case off, works fine. Case is on correctly (there's not a whole lot of ways to have it on wrong). Pressing it harder onto my head (which one shouldn't have to do) or holding it farther away don't help, either. Does the other Otterbox case do this?

Nov 8, 2010First one broke 2 weeks ago I don't know what from but I've never dropped the phone with the case on and next thing I know I took it out of my pocket and the face plate was broken in the top right corner.This evening as I was walking home with my phone and case on it that I just got replaced about 5 days ago I dropped my phone screen down first, I thought it was done. Luckily it was safe though again the face plate is broken on my case.
I'm getting yet another replacement from Otterbox which is good..Really wish I could get a refund or voucher to use on their site for the cost of the case.
Motorola Droid :: Seidio Innocase Or Otterbox Commuter?
Mar 30, 2010I currently have the leather snap on case that VZW sells, the little plastic clips that snap it on break way too easily so I am looking at higher quality cases and especially the Seidio and Otterbox cases. The Otterbox case looks higher quality IMO and also probably more protective. I just want to be sure that the plastic clips will not break and let the case fall off every 5 minutes. Any opinions would be helpful.

Nov 9, 2009Two days ago, we uploaded a new version of the full version of our app (SpecTrek) to the market. Improvements include support for QVGA and WVGA screens.
We changed nothing in the "Developer Console" (Language: en_US, "All locations" selected).
Now we have received the first complaint of a Droid user who cannot find the full version on the market. The light version (that has not been upgraded yet) can be found ok. The good news is that the light version seems to work on the Droid, something we couldn't really test (except for some simulator runs on 2.0).
So presumably we did something stupid in the upgraded version. I can only assume it must be something in the manifest, as it seems unreasonably to assume the market software looks at anything else in the apk.
The only change in the manifest (besides versionCode/versionName) is the following:
CODE:.....................
There is also a "uses-sdk" entry, but that didn't change: <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3" />
Is there anyone with a Droid that can verify the full version is not available to them (searching for 'SpecTrek' should find both the light and full versions)?
Android :: Unable To Uninstall Packages Invisible In Droid / Solve This?
Jul 15, 2010I want do uninstall some useless apps from /system.
I have super access, and the permission DELETE_PACKAGE in the manifest.
But when i run Runtime.exec("pm uninstall package") I get ERROR/AndroidRuntime(10981): java.lang.SecurityException: Neither user 10094 nor current process has android.permission.DELETE_PACKAGES.
Anyone know how to solve this?

It was DEFINITELY the best case that I ever owned back in my iPhone days. I know that Otterbox will be releasing an EVO version "soon" but I am tired of waiting. Does anyone know of a GREAT alternative that is available NOW? The Otterbox Commuter Series offers a silicone skin followed by a tough ABS plastic cover. HTC Desire :: Build Quality - Need To Put On Silicone Shield
Jul 5, 2010This is a question to all the longer term users of the phone. I've had several phones before, all new and shiny in the beginning but before too long their facade starts to come off. Finishing, body, etc. How good is the desire in this respect?
- How many nicks have you got on yours? Does it get scratched easily? I mean the touchscreen as well as the body.
- Does the body colour come off easily?
- Are there any parts of the phone where dust accumulates?
- Does the battery cover show signs of becoming loose?
- Do the volume rocker keys become loose?
Can the phone take a couple of falls? I've been handling my Desire like my own baby but it's only a matter of time before it slips from my hands I feel. Also I simply love the look of the phone, and don't want to put on a silicone or a body shield but if it's really necessary I shall.
Sprint HTC Hero :: Disappointed With Zagg Shield
Feb 6, 2010A week ago I received the Invisible Shield from Zagg in the mail and was very excited. I read the instructions, saw some installation videos on youtube and after 1 hour of preparation i was ready for the install. The installation process is a nightmare as you have to apply the solution while keeping the shield from sticking to itself and its a PIA to align correctly. I installed the back cover first and after many tries I had it correctly aligned but it didn't fit perfectly meaning there were areas that the shield did not cover completeley such as corners which are the most prone to damage. Next I installed the screen protector OMFG what a POS. It had bubbles all over even after using the squegee card. I thought I'd give it a few days for them to clear up as Zagg claims that within 24 hrs they disappear. They did not go away and it made the screen look bad especially on a white background. Needless to say the smaller pieces are also a nightmare to install. Anyways, today I saw my phone and got tired of looking at that Zagg crap and at the sticky feel it gives the phone and took it off and went back to what I had before.I had the siliicone case from the sprint store and the screen protector from the sprint store which had worked perfectly since november: not a single scratch and no dust problems. So really beware of the Zagg products, at least I got it for free so it didn't hurt to throw it away.
