I picked up my droid, multimedia dock and hard shell clear verizon branded cases this morning (as im sure a lot of you have done also =) However in order to insert the droid into the multimedia dock I must remove the bottom portion of the case. Does anyone know if any other cases will work and not have to be removed? Perhaps the soft gel case that verizon is selling for the droid?

Usually Walmart (where i got my phone) sell the accessories for the phones they sell, but they dont for the droid.I really would like a working gel skin for it.but it says it wont ship til the 16th, and i'd rather get it much sooner.Im having such a hard time finding any accessories. AH! Nothing local has them.the official Motorola droid site seems broken. Shows gel's and stuff for the phone, but cant ever find them on the store page after you click the image.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was in the Verizon store and got a nice ugly orange hard case for it, and we had trouble clipping the piece on the front. We tried it on the demo and it wouldn't work. No big deal..just a bad mold, it happens. I decide to plop it down and get an Otterbox. Same deal. Tried that one on the demo, and it fit. We go back and open a couple more and try them, same deal. The orange one was defective, but the others were not and fit the demo as well as his own personal phone. Our only assumption can be that there is something wrong with the molding on my Droid, not allowing anything to clip on.

Just had a couple of quick questions. Keep in mind we're looking for the *gel* cases for the droid.I know that OEM skins/cases will cost more than the bargain skins/cases on ebay I'm guessing that some of the gel cases that cost more have had some more thought put into them and are probably higher quality (get what you pay for maybe?). I'm basically looking for personal recommendations for a brand or a website that sells GOOD QUALITY gel cases.I'm trying to avoid having to return something because it turns out that the gel case covers up the flash, the keys on the slide out keyboard, or wont allow the phone to be used in the car dock.. That kind of thing. Anyone have any success stories they can share?

However, I kept having the Droid come on in my holster and it was driving me batty how it would unlock on it's own. Then it hit me. The holster clips shut MAGNETICALLY.The Droid thought it was in a multimedia dock so it stayed on while on my side.THAT's why my battery was draining so fast.So, be sure to get a velcro or other type of holster, nothing with magnets.

I had a Body Glove one for my previous phone, a Samsung Glyde, worst phone ever made BTW, and it broke within 2 months, and I had another similar one for my Droid, the first one broke in less than a month and the one the store replaced it with broke in just over 2 months. Is one better than the other (hard case vs. rubber)? Also, will putting a case on the phone stop you from being able to slip it into that multimedia station?

I know I will more than likely not find what I am looking for because the slide out keyboard is a selling point for this phone, but mine keeps sliding out in my pocket and I am concerned that the open portion of the keyboard might bend, flex or crack if it is bent the wrong way. I really like the performance I'm getting now that I'm rooted but Pandora is a must have for me - so if I can't get it fixed I'll have to go back to stock - BOO. Personally I loved the old stock messaging app and I would LOVE to have it back. I know there's the whole issue of it not being compatible but if anyone has gotten it to work I would love to know.
