Mar 23, 2010Those snap on cases that Verizon sells are really bad. I had a Body Glove one for my previous phone, a Samsung Glyde, worst phone ever made BTW, and it broke within 2 months, and I had another similar one for my Droid, the first one broke in less than a month and the one the store replaced it with broke in just over 2 months. Is there any decent cases for the Droid?

Jan 18, 2010I am looking for a case that will prevent the keyboard from sliding out. I know I will more than likely not find what I am looking for because the slide out keyboard is a selling point for this phone, but mine keeps sliding out in my pocket and I am concerned that the open portion of the keyboard might bend, flex or crack if it is bent the wrong way. Maybe I am being paranoid, but it never hurts to be preventative

Nov 8, 2009Does anyone know where we can buy Gel/rubber skins or some sort of cases that were actually made for the Droid?I've been looking everywhere. Usually Walmart (where i got my phone) sell the accessories for the phones they sell, but they dont for the droid.I really would like a working gel skin for it.but it says it wont ship til the 16th, and i'd rather get it much sooner.Im having such a hard time finding any accessories. AH! Nothing local has them.the official Motorola droid site seems broken. Shows gel's and stuff for the phone, but cant ever find them on the store page after you click the image.

Jun 30, 2010I was in the Verizon store and got a nice ugly orange hard case for it, and we had trouble clipping the piece on the front. We tried it on the demo and it wouldn't work. No big deal..just a bad mold, it happens. I decide to plop it down and get an Otterbox. Same deal. Tried that one on the demo, and it fit. We go back and open a couple more and try them, same deal. The orange one was defective, but the others were not and fit the demo as well as his own personal phone. Our only assumption can be that there is something wrong with the molding on my Droid, not allowing anything to clip on.

Mar 1, 2010I just ordered two new Motorola Droid's on sunday, they're due to get here on wednesday so i've been killing time looking at accessories. Just had a couple of quick questions. Keep in mind we're looking for the *gel* cases for the droid.I know that OEM skins/cases will cost more than the bargain skins/cases on ebay I'm guessing that some of the gel cases that cost more have had some more thought put into them and are probably higher quality (get what you pay for maybe?). I'm basically looking for personal recommendations for a brand or a website that sells GOOD QUALITY gel cases.I'm trying to avoid having to return something because it turns out that the gel case covers up the flash, the keys on the slide out keyboard, or wont allow the phone to be used in the car dock.. That kind of thing. Anyone have any success stories they can share?

Nov 9, 2009I have an HTC holster that I used for the last year. The Droid JUST fits into it. However, I kept having the Droid come on in my holster and it was driving me batty how it would unlock on it's own. Then it hit me. The holster clips shut MAGNETICALLY.The Droid thought it was in a multimedia dock so it stayed on while on my side.THAT's why my battery was draining so fast.So, be sure to get a velcro or other type of holster, nothing with magnets.

Nov 6, 2009I picked up my droid, multimedia dock and hard shell clear verizon branded cases this morning (as im sure a lot of you have done also =) However in order to insert the droid into the multimedia dock I must remove the bottom portion of the case. Does anyone know if any other cases will work and not have to be removed? Perhaps the soft gel case that verizon is selling for the droid?

Nov 4, 2009Never had a phone that was worth buying a case for. I have a hard shell case on my iPod and it's done a good job keeping the thing from getting beaten up (despite my repeatedly dropping it).
Is one better than the other (hard case vs. rubber)? Also, will putting a case on the phone stop you from being able to slip it into that multimedia station?

Sep 20, 2010So I bought my LG ally and the sales rep walked out with a bunch of cases and asked my favorite color. I chose the clear one. I love the sales rep to death cause he is actually a really good friend, however, I don't feel safe with the cheap-feeling plastic case. Its the clear one that flexes alot and stuff. DOes it really protect it?I had the body glove on my old env touch and, while working on a 3 story roof on the phone, dropped it and it landed straight on concrete. Walked down, picked it up and finished my call. On the other hand, I drop my ally out of my car on accident and the case simply falls off.if theres no benefit, i'm just going to take it off as it looks dumb.

May 7, 2010I mentioned this earlier but no one seemed to know anything about this. It just happened again to me in the middle of testing a new game, which is the first time I've seen it happen during one of my games. The game had been loaded for about a minute and I was playing and everything was fine and then the phone locked up and this was in the log:

The waitForCondition messages kept logging every second until the phone (Nexus One) rebooted itself.
This continued until the device rebooted. As you can imagine, process 29487 is my game. 74 is (I think) system service. Both got hung up and my game certainly didn't do anything to cause this. I just use a GLSurfaceView and a normal logic thread. Nothing special, no hacks.
This is not the first time I've seen it - it can be reliably reproduced when flipping orientations on a live wallpaper service and doing the proper context/display destroy and new EGL init on orientation change. It happens almost instantly there. It's actually plaguing my live wallpaper because I haven't found a workaround for it yet.
I've also seen this happen once before to RenderScript, so perhaps it is OpenGL-related?
I feel like there is a bug down there in the depths of Android....
