I'm pretty new to RSS feeds but I was hoping that somebody could suggest a solution to my problem.
I want to be notified by my Droid when any xbox deals appear on slickdeals.net . I figure an RSS reader can do this but I'm not sure how to set it up. Would anybody be willing to explain this to me?

I connected my Droid to the Xbox 360 and was able to get the Droid to allow me to mount the SD card as I would with a PC. But, the Xbox 360 isn't seeing it and the Droid displays "Sorry, your SD card is busy (in use.. something like that)."Any other gamer dorks out there had success with this?

When i did this it said it encountered an MTU error.what exactly is this and how can i fix it. Also how much data do you think playing on live would use because isn't there a "5 gb limit" on the unlimited phone plan.

I will kill all apps and then either not open any more or maybe open one and all of a sudden 5/10 mints later, some apps appear to be running again in the background. How can this be if I haven't activated them?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I want to send a text message to my friend Bob, i'll type "bob" in the recipients name and no phone number will come up even though he is stored in my contacts. However, whenever i want to send a text to Jill, I simply type "Jill" in the recipients box in the SMS and her phone number pops up. In order to send a text message to Bob, i have to go into Contacts-->Search-->Send text. It's more of a nuisance than anything else and was wondering if there was a remedy for it. I have tried re-programming the contacts information into the phone but the problem still exists.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI set a ringdroid custom ringtone for my wife's phone calls. A few times in the last week, her call will not activate that ringtone, instead just ringing the default. Also, the last call didn't even have her Caller ID or photo... just the phone number... it's like it didn't recognize she was a contact at all? The only thing I can think of was I was using the music player when she called... is is possibly the "cut-in" that caused the disconnect? Don't know, but I've tried to duplicate it, and it reverts back to "normal" every time I try.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed the Nimbuzz app today. It has system access to prevent the phone from sleeping. Which really sucks because I can't leave it running in the background so I stay logged on. If I keep the Nimbuzz services running then The display won't time out on inactivity. If you close the services then You can't get the incoming chats.
Is there away to deny certain access to apps but allow the rest and install it? From my experience I've only seen that it's all or nothing.
I got 2 Droid X's last Saturday. If you hold mine and my wife's side by side (in the house), she gets 3G and 3 to 4 bars, while mine is 1X or lower with no bars 90% of the time.
The folks at my local store did a *228, option 2 on my phone and asked me to the same when I got home. Distance between the store and my house is about 9 miles. I did this. Still no help.
So i looked at my wife's phone and the PRL version on her phone is 65169, the version on mine is 52105. Obviously her list sees better towers or something. Is there any way to get my phone to set at that same version of the PRL list? A way to get a specific PRL on the phone?
I get good reception most everywhere else, but the fact that the exact 2 phones have such vastly different reception in the same place is frustrating.
Ive been trying to find an app that if i hear a song somewhere that i like and i want to know who sings it i open the app and it takes part of the song and finds all the info on it

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering if anyone has been able to make Voice Search on the Droid launch the music player and play specific music. I went into "Settings", "Search", "Searchable items" under "Quick Search Box", and selected "Music Artists, albums, and tracks" so I think voice search can search the local device for music. Try as I may, I can't make search for music on the device. Admittedly, I'm used to the MS WinMo/Sync system where I can say something like "Play Artist Korn" (like in the commercial). I'm just wondering if I'm missing the "magic keywords" to make the voice search do what I want or am I just whistling dixie.This would come in VERY handy when the Droid is in the Car Dock (I HIGHLY recommend one of these btw.I just wish they'd integrated a power adapter with it.). That way, I can launch music via voice, and not plunk around with a very small icon on the screen.

1. how do i change the email notification to a specific sound? As of rite now, when i receive an email nothing happens (no sound or vibrate).
2. How do I select a specific ring for mms. I know how to select sms, but I cant figure out how to change the mms.
I have had androids for over two years now and am getting more and more concerned every time I download an app and seeing that it wants to READ my SMS message and Contacts.
Is there a way I can disable reading of SMS messages or any one of the other permissions by specific apps, or all apps?
Are we living in a world where any "joe schmo" can upload an app the to the app store and wait for those inadvertent downloads and collect all your personal information, and that's after all the time we spend protecting our identity and personal details?
I'm curious if anyone has done it, and what their experience has been. Someone mentioned issues related to ad hoc network, but others said it worked. Would love to hear your experience.

I am tethering from my phone to laptop to xbox via pdanet and a new update came out recently but i havent really tried to update til black ops came out today I won't be home or anywhere near a wifi connection for atleast a month and theres no way I will be without black ops xbox live.So if anyone knows a fix for the update via tethering and why it wont work please post immediately!
