View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently don't have a way to connect my Xbox 360 Wireless dongle since I don't have a USB to MICRO USB converter, So is there any way to do so? without any plugs? I know the Xbox 360 uses a specific way to connect wirelessly unlike the Playstation 3 that uses Bluetooth. BUT although, There MUST be a way! therefore, I am asking all of you android users with probably more knowledge than me on this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am going to get a new android tablet (probably the nexus 7 2nd gen) and I want to use my xbox 360 controllers with it.
I am going to use this that way:
Tablet->USB OTG->Wireless receiver and connect the 2 controllers wirelessly.
I know that this is possible to connect 1 controller that way,but will I be able to connect 2 controllers that ways and get the tabler to recognize them?
i was wondering were there was any app that could turn my android phone into wireless receiver for audio currently being played on my pc over wifi..so that i can play media on my pc and roam around in the network range with media output coming from android headset in my ears...
there are apps like audioin and airphones for iphone but i couldn't find any for android..
Has anyone tried using the Citrix Receiver app? My will not connect or it will say You don't have the proper encryption level to access this Session. Of course some of my co-workers have iPhones and it works flawlessly...so I'm a little bummed that I used the exact same settings and it doesn't work. Just wondering if anyone has used it or tried it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe main reason i wanted a rooted phone was so i could connect to my laptops ad hoc network and use a program for wireless keyboard and mouse. i cant really afford the real thing at the moment and with my laptop hooked up to my flat screen its kind of necessary to have..
So ive rooted my phone and tried a few roms. currently i have this one: [ROM] [05/18/2010] Tainted Vanilla V1.4 OVERCLOCKED - xda-developers
I always run into the same problem though. wired or wireless, i cant get it to connect right. wired never works in any way but i dont really care about that. wireless however shows some signs of working. it shows some data has been sent, not received though. and my computer will detect and connect to it, but seems to lose the signal after a few moments. when i bring up a browser it doesnt even look like something might load. it just says im offline. could someone help me with this?
The other part of this problem is i really just want to connect to my computers ad hoc network and use a wireless keyboard and mouse program. none of them seem that great unfortunately.. recommendations are appreciated. but my biggest issue is that i cant seem to connect to an ad hoc network. i believe my phone detected it only once while i was on the "white widow" rom, but could never quite connect..
I have learned so much reading on this forum. And have had so many questions answered. Thanks to all. I have a Eris on Cricket Wireless and it works very good. Alot of ppl complain that they have problems with apps and the phone it self and yes I have had my own BUT it is by far the best phone that I have owned and way better then any phone that cricket offers period. I was wanting to know if anybody else has the Eris on a different carrier.

The SSID does not show up so even if I go to add a new wireless connection it asks for the SSID and I have no way of knowing. Am I missing something very simple?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy is conductive "wireless" charging so slow to reach cell phones? Both Powermat and Messless have chargers on the market (with adapters for iPhones and little else). You have to use a universal adapter - which means you are plugging it in anyway. I paid $12 for a Wiimote charging stand that uses the same basic technology. I just want a cradle/dock type of thing that I can drop my phone into and it starts charging. I get annoyed plugging and unplugging the device each time. Are there any manufacturers out there reading this forum and want my money? :-)

View 3 Replies View RelatedIm trying to figure out if the Eris can only detect wireless routers with certain authentication types? My phone does not recognize my wireless router, yet all other mobile devices and laptops are able to see and connect just fine. I'm using WPA2 encryption type for the pw, which is over 30 chars. long. Is this an issue?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with using my Eris while connected to my home wifi network. The problem is that after I successfully connect to my network, I am unable to browse the internet, access the Market, or use any music apps which require internet access. I have verified that my phone is capable of doing all of this while connected to an unsecured wifi network, however, my network is secured. I'm not sure if that's what the issue is.A little bit of info about my home network - I have a Motorola SBG900 cable modem w/built-in wireless access. I have it setup for b/g network, WPA/PSK, etc. The strange thing about this is that I have two laptops, & my iPad setup on the same wireless network and all of them are able to access the network with no issues.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI run Wireless Tethering and able to pick up a signal from my laptop. My cousin can also pick up a signal from his iPhone but my brother can't pick it up from his Droid Eris.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFriend of mine told me today that ones of his co-workers have their phone set-up where it is bluetooth connected to his laptop, His laptop is connected to his home television which makes the tv act as his monitor, then he uses his android phone as the wireless keyboard and trackball for the mouse. He wasn't sure what phone exactly he had, or what app he was using.
My questions are. Is this possible with the eris? If so, is there a specific app you need to get? I know that the Eris doesn't do data over bluetooth, so I don't know if this is something that won't work now, but may work with an upgrade to 2.x. This is something that I would be interested in doing.
Verizon Wireless to store managers: Wednesday is a big day Boy Genius Report..Reason to be excited again. What if it's a possible announcement on 2.1 for either the Droid or the Eris or both? Nothing's official yet, at least about what the conference concerns, but two different sources have said this so it looks like it's true. If it is about the iPhone hitting Verizon, they may still weasel in some small tidbits about other stuff, Android included.
View 49 Replies View RelatedI know that this is sort of stupid thing not to know, but how do you actually set up the link between the Eris and the desktop when using Wireless Tether? I went through the Wireless network Setup and I even went through Network Setup Wizard and Network Connections and still haven't been able to figure out how to actually initiate wireless tetherthing through wi-fi. I'm sure that it's something bonehead that I haven't considered. The only time I've set up networks is with the help of ISP tech support or the ISP setup CD.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy HTC Eris' battery went dead last night. I plugged it into the charger and tried to restart it, but it won't go past the Verizon Wireless screen. I've tried removing the battery numerous times, but it still won't go past that screen. Any suggestions?
View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if there is a way to change the text that always says "Verizon Wireless" when you pull down the notification bar? I am currently not rooted, but will be doing so in the next few days (I'm still trying to decide what ROM i want to flash to start out). I don't know if this is even possible, but I thought it would be another good way to make my phone unique.
View 14 Replies View RelatedEver since flashing the 2.1 leaks (V1 and then V2), I have not been able to connect to my university's WPA2-enterprise wireless network. After I enter my login info (the network uses PEAP with MSCHAPv2, so it doesn't need any certificates), the phone connects as expected and gets a valid IP address, verifiable with netcfg. Before any traffic is allowed to pass to the outside world, however, the device connecting has to go to an authentication page in a browser. When I attempt to go to that page, I get an error titled "Data Connectivity Problem" that states "A secure connection could not be established" which only presents an option to acknowledge the error.
Since I can't load that authentication page, the network is entirely unusable. I did not encounter this problem with 1.5, but since I'm running the V2 leak, reverting is not an option.Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? I can't identify if the problem is in the actual link not being established properly (seems unlikely, as the phone is given an IP address, but perhaps the PEAP layer is having some sort of issue?) or if it has to do with the SSL certificates used for the network authentication page (they're signed, but I'm fairly certain that the name if the site they're signed for is not the name that they've given the new auth server).
I connected my Droid to the Xbox 360 and was able to get the Droid to allow me to mount the SD card as I would with a PC. But, the Xbox 360 isn't seeing it and the Droid displays "Sorry, your SD card is busy (in use.. something like that)."Any other gamer dorks out there had success with this?

I want to be notified by my Droid when any xbox deals appear on slickdeals.net . I figure an RSS reader can do this but I'm not sure how to set it up. Would anybody be willing to explain this to me?
So my internet is out and i want to use the tether feature on my droid to play xbox 360. The tether connected to my laptop but it doesnt go all the way to the xbox 360!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried wireless Tethering via Bluetooth with the PDANet App and it was an utter failure...i'd get a connection but it was up and down every 5-10 minutes...I can get a solid connection when tethering over USB with PDAnet...But that sucks as it only seems to work with the Charging cable that came with the Eris and not the HUNDREDS of other usb cables i have laying around....
So everyone said...'ROOT!' Its easy to wirelessly Tether when you 'Root!'
you can even use your phone as a hotspot...
So i thought 'Cool, i'd really like to be able to use it as a hotspot!'
I used this rooting system Universal 1 Click Eris App Apk - No PCs, No Scripts Needed, EASY
Noted i now have a new app called 'SuperUser Permission'
Downloaded 'Wireless Tether' from the App store...Set all Permissions on the phone
my Netbook detects NOTHING!
WTF am i doing wrong? It still works under pdanet...ALL i care about is using my phone as a Wireless/wifi hotspot, thats it!
trying to create a broadcast receiver which responds to system events and change system settings. I don't need any interaction from the user so I don't need an activity and have been trying to do everything through the manifest file. I've put a log event into my onReceive method but it never logs anything so I'm presuming my method is never called. I've tried this with both the 1.5 and 1.6 SDKs. I was hoping somebody could have a look at my code please and let me know if there are any problems.
