Just picked up my incredible, and I have two questions....
1. how do i change the email notification to a specific sound? As of rite now, when i receive an email nothing happens (no sound or vibrate).
2. How do I select a specific ring for mms. I know how to select sms, but I cant figure out how to change the mms.

Is there a way to have label (or even sender) specific notification new e-mail sounds? I have several filters set up on my gmail account to automatically label and star emails from certain senders. Is there a way to have items labeled "Work" chirp with a different notification sound than other emails?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently use Timeriffic, which has been great at managing settings for different times of the day. What I am looking for, however, is an application similar to that where I can define the sound behavior for one specific application.
What I am trying to do is make it so all notifications are at 10% volume during the night, but Id like to make notifications from Google Talk louder, like at 50%. I haven't been able to find anything that would allow a rule like that, but thought Id ask since you guys seem to know everything!
I have one specific person in my phone, and whenever they text me, it pops up on the screen and stuff, but the phone will not vibrate, will not make the alert noise or anything, Ive tried deleting and reading the contact, i tried making a custom sound for them, etc.. so weird. they aren't on a black list or anything. anyone else have this problem? what do i do?
View 6 Replies View Related1. No sound notification. When I am texting someone back and forth, I have to back out of the thread or I do not get notified that they have responded. If I leave it open, I sit there forever thinking the person didn't respond only to wake up my phone and see that they actually did.... 10 minutes ago. Anyone else have this issue?
2. When I turn my phone on in the morning, I never get notified of new email. I have to open my mail and click refresh. I have tried letting it go thinking it would notify me at the update interval I have set, and that never happened. I went almost 2 hours until I had a new email notification, and that was because I sent something to myself to test it.
Does anybody know how to set a ringtone for a specific email address?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been a Blackberry user for years, and finally ditched my old berry friend, for a Galaxy Nexus. Thus far, I have had to Google how to's for everything I've wanted to customize: ie ringtones, changing default tones, even the colour of my sms window. I've been able to figure everything out, but am stuck on creating custom tones for emails from specific contacts. With my trusted berry, custom tones for email and sms were linked together for my contacts. So whether I received a txt, or an email from "John", I would hear the specific tone I'd set for him. With my Nexus, I've learned the same is not true. I can only customize contact sounds for sms (and of course, only with an App, I really like Ringo btw). Emails, not so much. They all come in under the one tone, regardless of who it was from.

When he tried to do this it doubled the contacts on his phone. (Basically went from 50 contacts to 100 contacts).
Is there any possible way of doing this?
I can't change my text notification sounds. If I change my sounds it only works on emails, not text.

But for some reason when I get a voicemail it plays a sound that I selected as notification sound in Sound & Display setting. The same sound that is used for email notification.

I have a layout which contains a TextView.
The content of the TextView might change on runtime. (discussed on a different issue here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3683727/layout-with-dynamic-position )
I can position the layout by drag&drop. If the size of the layout doesn't change, the position stays, but as soon as the size of the layout changes (because more text inside the TextView) the position is reseted.
I use the layout(left, top, right, bottom) to position the layout.
Now I don't know where I should add my layout() call to make sure it stays at the right position...

Is this even possible without calling a specific package? I have found countless examples of sending email via intent, but I can find nothing about simply opening the default email client on the device via button press (preferably with a chooser dialog in case the user has multiple clients).
