Motorola Droid :: Phone Not Vibrating After Update
Aug 4, 2010So since I installed the FROYO update, when my phone is on vibrate, and I get a call. the phone won't vibrate. I'm missing a lot of calls. Anyone?

Nov 12, 2010My phone isn't vibrating for texts. And also my 3g is screwed up I can't go to any website within the browser and the 3g isn't working for apps that need it.

I normally keep my phones on vibrate in order to be discreet of any incoming calls or notifications at work. However, when I am talking on the phone and I get a text, the phone vibrates. Is there a way to make the phone just beep or play a sound instead of vibrating. I must admit, it can freak you having the phone buzz in your ear.

Apr 15, 2010I've recently turned off the vibrating function for my stock keyboard, haptic feedback is still on though. I found it's easier to type when it's off for me, especially when typing long messages. Not that I don't like it, because I do. But when I'm typing something long, it's just really annoying IMO. So I became curious as to what everyone prefers regarding vibrating keys.

Aug 30, 2010When I set my phone to vibrate, it will only vibrate when I get a phone call, not when I get a text or email. I saw some solutions for the Droid, but not the Droid X. I am not sure if the solutions are the same. Also, when it is on ring, it rings and vibrates, not just rings. Any suggestions? My main concern it getting it to vibrate when I get messages, I am not too concerned about the ring/vibrate thing.

Dec 18, 2009Is there a way to make the phone vibrate when typing on the Virtual Keyboard? Kinda like the Eris'.... I have my phone set to vibrate when you press the capacitive quick keys, and other functions the phone deems necessary to vibrate, but cant find anything for the keyboard. It would be very helpful with typing, reassuring that you actually hit the key when typing fast.

Jul 10, 2010I was talking to my husband when my Eris started vibrating nonstop! I had to shut my phone off like 3x. My gmail password is right and it still won't sign me in.it take a whole minute to call anyone on my phone list, I miss calls, when I go to answer my phone after two rings it ends call. And last but not least, my assigned ring tones don't play for my contacts, it only plays the default. I have tried everything. I'm wondering if i should take it to Verizon and get a new one.

Dec 6, 2009When I put my phone into vibrate mode (either by using the rocker, or going through settings) my phone vibrates when receiving calls, but not when receiving emails or texts, they just stay silent, so I am completely unaware that I have received anything. Is this actually how Motorolla designed it's phone, or am I making a mistake? I receive texts/emails much more than phone calls, but am not always in an environment where I can have my ringer going off. Is there a way to set my text and email alerts (and any other alerts [voicemail, etc.]) to vibrate when in vibrate mode.

Jun 19, 2010As the title says my phone will not vibrate at all. No haptic feedback when entering phone numbers, none for texting, and none for notifications or calls. I've tried everything I can think of. I've tried going back to the original 2.1 update vs the OTA update. I've tried a soft reset, and also going into the phone menu to do a factory reset. I've even tried the sound manager app trick and still no luck Any ideas on what might be the problem?

Apr 6, 2010I put the phone on ringer silent. Make sure vibration is on. When I flip the switch on the side the vibrating indicator vibrates. When the phone is on vibrate nd it recieves a phone call it vibrates but when I get a txt there is no vibration.

Oct 14, 2010On my Samsung Moment, a lot of times when someone is calling me, the phone will start vibrating or ringing as it should but the screen does not turn on showing the caller id until 4 or 5 rings, if at all. It makes answering calls before it goes to voicemail difficult.

Aug 20, 2010Real pleased with the 2.2 update so far, loving the slight changes and improvements, however I have noticed that the lower rear of the phone is getting really hot. Apr 3, 2010I attempted earlier this week to manually install the update, it wouldn't go for me. I got the notification this AM about the update, selected to reboot and got the error screen. After reboot when I go to check for system updates it tells me I'm up to date with 2.0.1. I may back up my texts, though I don't have any critical info there, and do a factory reset then try the manual update process again. Factory reset shouldn't wipe the SD card, right?

Aug 11, 2010Last week I downloaded and installed the file for the 2.2 update, the FRG01B or whatever.
Since then:
- I cannot put my phone on silent. It will only go down to vibrate.
- Battery life has diminished. Went from lasting on average I'd say about 26 hours or so to now about 20.
- Some text messages don't go through to people I send to, and some sent to me don't come until much much later.
Now that I'm reading that the actual OTA update that is being pushed out again today is the same as what I forced last week, I'm beginning to consider just going back down to 2.1 so I don't have these issues.

May 9, 2010I mentioned this in another thread, but I thought I'd start a new thread for this problem. I have a Droid I need to send back to Verizon, so I want to get it back to stock. It had been running CyanogenMod, so I wanted to flash the 2.0.1 SBF. For some unknown reason, I flashed it with SPRecovery again. I waited for that to finish and then flashed the 2.0.1 SBF like I originally had meant to.It seems to be running 2.0.1 just fine, but it will not download the 2.1 update. I get a notification that says 2.1 is available. I hit the Download button and it acts as if it is starting the download, but then it goes back to the screen that says 2.1 is available. It never downloads the update.I really want to get this to a stock 2.1 before I send it back.Any thoughts?

Aug 19, 2010I received notification this morning that my phone was ready for an update! Unfortunately after the update rebooted the phone it stopped at the Moto symbol and would not go any further. Called verizon and walked throught he normal battery pull and factory reset to no avail. The only answer they had was to send me a replacement phone which will be here to tomorrow. Bummer it broke but good customer service softened the issue.

Sep 22, 2010Looks like there is no way to make the phone completely silent without having to press a button when a call is coming in. I tried pressing the volume button all the way down, pass the vibrate mode but that seems to have been removed in 2.2.
