Has anyone had any problems with the droid's pull-out keyboard repeating certain letters? At first I thought it was just a user error, but over the last few weeks it's been getting more and more apparent. e.g. While trying to type "inside" it will instead type "inside" or instead of "tomorrow" it will type "tomorrow".

Anyone know how to change the keyboard letters color? I want to change them to black for a project I'm working on but I don't know how to edit xml and read the hex. Please let me know ASAP.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid since June of 2010 and up until a few days ago the keys have started to stick. Pretty much when I press down on them they stick for a split second and spring back up making a click noise each time I click on certain keys (Almost all of them). Not many of the keys are giving me double letters when I type due to this but some are. I called Verizon about it they want to troubleshoot the issue and I have no problem with doing that, I just will do it later at home since I am out now. So what do you guys think..? Should I replace it or keep using it some more see if the sticking stops? I really REALLY hate to replace my Droid seeing as it's new fresh out of the box and I've had no other problems with it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Magic running 1.6, but this has been happening since I've had the phone. Basically, when using the default keyboard (which, incidentally, seems tonnes better since the update - it's made me not care that HTC IME doesn't work) it'll sometimes miss usually two key presses. And the phone physically recognizes then, because they pop up above my finger, but they never appear in the text entry field. It's bizarre - does it happen to anyone else, and does anyone else know how to fix it? (Incidentally, does anyone else regularly hit the key instead of space bar by accident. It annoys the piss out of me.)

View 2 Replies View RelatedAny one know of a way to make a calendar event reminder repeat until the user cancels the reminder. Such that if I have a meeting and if I miss the first time that the notification goes off (I'm usually in vibrate only or I use very short very high frequency tones) I'd like the tone to repeat at regular intervals (say every 1 or 2 minutes) until I acknowledge that I'm heading to the meeting. Anyone have an idea for anything like that?
Blackberry didn't do this by default either and there was a WONDERFUL app called BerryBuzz that would allow you to customize notifications to the hilt. In other words different LED colors for each email account or for text messages (or whatever else you could think of) and you could not only have a different sound for them but when the repeating alarm went off you could also individually configure that alarm. Something like this would be really awesome if there was a similar app on Android.
I'm about to buy a Motorola Droid in five hours after much consideration and reading through forums. However, one question that has addressed me is whether or not the Droid has foreign language support, specifically Korean. I want to listen to some songs with Korean titles, but I'm not sure whether or not the Droid can display Korean letters in its music app. I've heard from previous Android users that 1.5 has difficulties displaying unicode letters and just makes them boxes, similar to the old Zunes (Lol fail player) which cannot support any Asian languages. Anybody have any experience with this?
ALSO regarding the Droid Eris. Is the on screen keyboard similar to the apple iPhone's (Response time, Sensitivity) or rather similar to the LG Dare (I despise this type of keyboard, slow, vibrate very uncoordinated). And since its running android 1.5 not 2.0, does this have problems with korean too?
I absolutely love swype. However most of the world doesn't know what swype is and hasn't used it. So they have no clue that typos are now entire words and not just letters. Leads to some hilarious yet awkward messages. Example: my friend asked me if I knew so and so. My reply was supposed to be yeah but it came out trash. Guess I need to slow down and proof read a bit more.

Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'

Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.

In the past few weeks a problem has started with my email on the Incredible. In the very first slot I get a weird/strange email. It is not in bold suggesting that I have already read this email. I will delete it and then with the very next refresh there it is again....the same one. That has been going on for a few weeks. Then three days ago it advanced to where I would delete the next three message following this weird one (these three are from normal senders that I recognize). Again, I would read those three and then delete them, along with the one weird one. Again with a refresh the four would be back. I went into the Verizon store yesterday with a few issues and he got the phone to stop doing this.....that is until this morning when again I am getting that first weird email. I wish I had asked him what he did to get it to stop so I could do it myself. I just went to the store here in my town and the place is jam packed, which is usual. I don't want to wait an hour just for this problem. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was exploring the option of using the 2.1 keyboard on my 2.2 updated X, because the 2.1 has the double. For, and i REALLY missed it. So i uninstalled the 2.2 multitouch, and installed a "ported" copy of the droid X 2.1 keyboard. But it would not install - so i figured the system keyboard was preventing it. I used titanium to make a backup, and then uninstalled the 2.2 keyboard, and used files to install the port. Worked ok, except that the listing in keyboards showed up under the wii mote ime. and when you added sound it would quickly FC. I can type with it, but the letters are very small.
Fine, I saw a spot that had the "offical" 2.1 last night in the bloatware thread. Same problems. Keys are small and FC's on volume. So I reboot the phone to solve it, and nothing still issues. Since then I decided I would let someone who knows what they are doing work this out, but until then, I cant get the 2.2 back on. I have the file saved on the SD card. Ive used supermanager to place it back into the system/app/latinime.apk location but after a reboot, now I have no keyboards (except the wiimoteime). I tried installing it with super manager, but that doesn't really do anything, and when i try installing it from "files" it says "Application not installed".
I keep hearing about the Better Keyboard app and would like to try it out...but how in the heck do you find it in the Marketplace?
I search for "Better Keyboard"...but all I get is 1000 skins and an "Even Better Keyboard" app...
The Droid is a computer with a phone.Old guys need a real keyboard.The Palm Clie had a fold up keyboard that went to full size and plugged into the Clie.So when are we going to get a blue tooth full size keyboard? I only want 5% of the net for this idea!

Like it seems like the adhesive underneath the buttons isn't working so the buttons make a noise every time I push them. I was wondering if this happened to anyone else or if my phone is just messed up because I wasn't sure if its even worth it to get a new one or if it'll just happen again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI never use my physical keyboard. I would like a slim case to protect my phone and i don't care if the KB doesn't slide out at all. i would actually prefer it stay closed. Hard plastic or a soft silicone is ok with me. i have the soft rubber case around my work BB and it works perfect. I would love something like that for my droid. And i want one that doesn't raise too much over the screen. a coworker has a hard case for his iphone and it makes it hard to hit the touch screen on the borders. the case sits so high you have to put your finger or thumb almost verticle to touch the on screen keyboard.

I know I will more than likely not find what I am looking for because the slide out keyboard is a selling point for this phone, but mine keeps sliding out in my pocket and I am concerned that the open portion of the keyboard might bend, flex or crack if it is bent the wrong way. View 15 Replies View RelatedI'm using Bloo for facebook and am constantly getting notifications for the same notifications. I've cleared them out, looked at them on Bloo, but still my friendly notification bing is popping up every few minutes. Is anyone else having problems with this?
Also add me to the 'my youtube doesn't work after the update' list. I called verizon to tell them about it yesterday and my tech had never heard of the problem before.
Aside from those issues I'm loving the phone. My husband has the droid, and while I am envious of his screen size, I prefer the feel of my eris.
