Anyone know how to change the keyboard letters color? I want to change them to black for a project I'm working on but I don't know how to edit xml and read the hex. Please let me know ASAP.

change the color of your keyboard buttons?? Ive seen a couple of screensshots with it done but i cannot figure it out.
also i cannot figure out how to get all the icons on the bottom bar to be color...
Has anyone had any problems with the droid's pull-out keyboard repeating certain letters? At first I thought it was just a user error, but over the last few weeks it's been getting more and more apparent. e.g. While trying to type "inside" it will instead type "inside" or instead of "tomorrow" it will type "tomorrow".
View 13 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid since June of 2010 and up until a few days ago the keys have started to stick. Pretty much when I press down on them they stick for a split second and spring back up making a click noise each time I click on certain keys (Almost all of them). Not many of the keys are giving me double letters when I type due to this but some are. I called Verizon about it they want to troubleshoot the issue and I have no problem with doing that, I just will do it later at home since I am out now. So what do you guys think..? Should I replace it or keep using it some more see if the sticking stops? I really REALLY hate to replace my Droid seeing as it's new fresh out of the box and I've had no other problems with it.

Cannot figure out if I am doing something wrong.
Is there any way to change the color or get rid of the bubble look of the stock messaging app? don't want to use Handcent or Chomp, so what are my options? (If any). Also noticed on some but not all of the text messages I get, the CB# appears on each one. Now I saw the setting in messaging that you can disable that, but I think that is for my text messaging going out to the other person correct? Is there any way to stop this from appearing in each text I receive? The weird thing is, it does not happen for all users in my contact list, just a few.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an HTC Magic running 1.6, but this has been happening since I've had the phone. Basically, when using the default keyboard (which, incidentally, seems tonnes better since the update - it's made me not care that HTC IME doesn't work) it'll sometimes miss usually two key presses. And the phone physically recognizes then, because they pop up above my finger, but they never appear in the text entry field. It's bizarre - does it happen to anyone else, and does anyone else know how to fix it? (Incidentally, does anyone else regularly hit the key instead of space bar by accident. It annoys the piss out of me.)

Most importantly, is it possible to change the virtual keyboard into an ABC style instead of the traditional QWERTY? I'm not sure which I would stick with in the end, but I would like to try out another orientation.
Wi-fi drains the battery, right? I have horrible phone service at my house(home for the holidays) but at school the service is great, should I bother using Wi-Fi regularly?
Also is it possible to have the screen wake up when it is touched? The lock screen seems a bit unnecesary considering that there is already a lock button, so it would be nice to disable one or the other.
EDIT: Also, it seems like my phone has decided to spam my contact list with all of my Facebook "friends." That seems like it could cause some problems...
Also do you have any suggestions for a music player over the standard one? I have not really looked through the market yet personally(mostly due to the horrible service here), so any suggestions are welcome.
I've just changed screen language on by G1. There was no support/bad support for typing polish letters on softkeyboard so I modified LatinIME by adding strings.xml and kbd_qwerty.xml for my lanuage. In android is also support for typing national letters using hardkeyboard. After pressing the key for about second small dialog with available alternative letters pop up. How can i change list of letters shown in this dialog?

However, one question that has addressed me is whether or not the Droid has foreign language support, specifically Korean. I want to listen to some songs with Korean titles, but I'm not sure whether or not the Droid can display Korean letters in its music app. I've heard from previous Android users that 1.5 has difficulties displaying unicode letters and just makes them boxes, similar to the old Zunes (Lol fail player) which cannot support any Asian languages. Anybody have any experience with this?
ALSO regarding the Droid Eris. Is the on screen keyboard similar to the apple iPhone's (Response time, Sensitivity) or rather similar to the LG Dare (I despise this type of keyboard, slow, vibrate very uncoordinated). And since its running android 1.5 not 2.0, does this have problems with korean too?
I absolutely love swype. However most of the world doesn't know what swype is and hasn't used it. So they have no clue that typos are now entire words and not just letters. Leads to some hilarious yet awkward messages. Example: my friend asked me if I knew so and so. My reply was supposed to be yeah but it came out trash. Guess I need to slow down and proof read a bit more.

Verbage:
Keyboard Manager allows you to customize what keyboard (input method) appear on input based on your phone orientation.
It displays the keyboards you have enabled on your android device, and let you select one per orientation (landscape/portrait).
As your phone switch orientation, the app automatically switch the keyboard.
Requirements:
- Rooted android device (app was tested on Samsung captivate 2.1)
- Root Explorer app, or similar app that allows you to edit the permissions of a file.
To install:
1- Download the app (KeyboardManager.apk) on your device sdcard.
2- Using Root Explorer, move the apk file to /system/app
3- Using Root Explorer, edit the file permissions like below:
-- User: 'Read/Write' checked
--Group: 'Read' checked
--Others: 'Read' checked
4- Exit Root Explorer
The app should be visible in your launcher as 'Keyboard Manager'
Update:
- Added option to disable notification icon
-' start on boot' feature is disabled because it's not yet complete and tested... Sorry for the confusion
Bugs:
-On certain applications (i.e: Messaging on Samsung Captivate), the input window occasionally freeze on orientation switch. Exiting the app, and resuming should fix it.
The app is still in development.
