I've exhausted the normal fixes and noob solutions.After loading Kangerade 4.0.7 I don't have any access to my google account; no gmail.no contacts.Option to add account in gmail app is a blank screen. Short of loading my backup I'm stumped.thoughts?

Droid X - Configured with a Google Apps Premiere, working great. Attempting to add a personal GMail account. Go to the GMail app, select add account, fill in the metrics and then...... "Needs to communicate" message for ~ 3 minutes, then bombs out with - "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server". 3G is fine, on a wifi connection that is fine, web browser works fine..... Google Apps account works fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have read the threads that come with putting in the title above, but I have a special question.Does anyone know of a procedure that I can go through to not only change my primary Google account on my DROID but also have it transfer bought app info from the old account to the new account?I have bought well over $10 worth of apps, an I would like them associated with the account through my domain as opposed to my current account (just a regular GMail address).Any ideas here? Or is what I remember reading in the past still true - bought apps are locked to one account and cannot be changed?

We set up a new account, but then realized that he can't get his apps back. As of now, my cal and contacts are syncing fine but I do not use the e-mail account that is associated with thier username. I have my other account (personal e-mail) set up sepeartely....along with a few other e-mail accounts(work and etc.). I would like to know if i can leave my cal and contacts setup on the regular droid sync account but change the e-mail account to my personal acct. so it will "push" by default with out having it in a seperate palce on the droid. I know this is confusing but i dont know how else to explian it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two gmail accounts, each with their own Google Voice account. Account 1 is my primary account, and I have even ported my phone number to this account. I'm using this account on my phone (nexus 5), and have 0 issues with this account. All texts, voicemails, etc come through with no issues. Account 2 is largely not used. I would like to use account 2 on my nexus 7, for texts, and maybe making calls if I don't want to give out my real number to someone.
My issue is when I'm logged in to account 2 on my nexus 7, I'm getting text notifications for account 1 on my nexus 7. But if I were to open Google Voice on the nexus 7, once GV refreshes, the texts disappear. It doesn't happen the other way around. If I get a text/vm to account 2, it does not notify my phone, which is logged in to account 1.
I've checked the settings in both GV accounts, and neither account is linked to the other, or to send copies of texts/vm notifications to the other. How do I stop notifications from GV account 1 to stop displaying on account 2? I have cleared cache, data, uninstalled the app. The only thing i have not done, is a reset of the nexus 7.
I was initially logged in to account 1 on my nexus 7, but I would have thought removing the app from the device would have essentially erased all traces of the account 1 on the nexus 7. I even signed out of hangouts, to make sure Google was not treating this like my phone, and sending it both places.
I finally installing 2.1 with all English menus.that worked in china.However I cant get my contacts and calendar to sync with google.The mail client works fine with no hitches.But I cant add the google account.when I enter in the full server name:

the next button is grayed out.the only way it will let me proceed is if I remove the https:// and then it try to connect.but it then says :" unable to open connection to server"Any help for what is more than likely an extraordinarily simple problem?
I have a UK Motorola Milestone running Android 2.1-update 1.
Yesterday all my contacts and my google accounts, to which they were synchronised, disappeared. Just like that, out of the blue.
I tried to add the google account again, but I keep getting a "can't establish reliable data connection" error. It is not a network access issue because internet and email (imap, not gmail) work fine, plus I tried with two different SIMs and with Wi-Fi, but to no avail.
I read about people deleting some files from their rooted Android and/or hard resetting their phones, but these fixes don't seem to always work and I'd rather try something else first.
I must say that, even though I like Android, I am getting very annoyed at how unreliable and buggy it has proven compared to my iphone and blackberry. Is it too much to ask to have a phone that doesn't reboot every other minute and that doesn't delete your contacts?
Is it possible to use a google account for features such as google contacts and latitude? I know this is not possible for Android market, but would it be possible for other google products? I saw it is possible on this Android 2.0 review: Android 2.0 Review: Almost Human Did they remove this feature from the 2.1 that Hero uses, or can't I just find it?

Once I got my refurb phone I switched my gmail account on my phone to the one I used to purchase the app since my school gmail account lacks some features but my app was not available to download. Any way to get it to without going back to my old gmail for my phone?

I have a Droid Razr Maxx through Verizon. When I had the phone setup, I had to create a Google account (gmail). Since then, I created another Google account with a username I prefer.
How do I switch the phone over to my new Google account so I can delete the old one? I want to keep the same email notifications with the new account as well.
I use Google hosted apps with my own domain for e-mail, calendar, chat, etc. and I use the e-mail address from that with my main Google account as well. So, both my Google account and hosted apps account use the same address. I had no problem setting up my account on my phone when I got it Friday, but I've been running into a few issues. First off, every time I try to buy an app in the Market, it asks me to set up a Google account to associate it with, even though I already have. Also, when I try to use Google Listen, it asks the same thing. Is there a way around this, or will I have to create a separate Google/GMail account?

With all my previous android phones I've been able to set up desktop shortcuts to each account so they can be checked separately. With the X, I cannot seem to do this. The email shortcut does not allow me to specify an account, and just shows the default account. I'd really like to continue to use my old system of two account shortcuts.
