Can I have 2 gmail accounts on the same Moto Droid? I have a buddy that is trying this, but says it turns things goofy. Thats all! If so, can I get an explanation how and why real quick?

Issue:
I have two Gmail accounts setup on my phone, both of which use Google Apps, so the addresses are (at) example1.com and (at) example2.com as opposed to ending in gmail.com. I use my first account to sync my contacts, calendar and mail, and my secondary account just syncs mail. I then added an old @gmail.com account for no particular reason and now it won't let me delete it and gives this reason: "This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults".
When I first added the account, by default it didn't turn on mail sync. I have left that unchecked, and also left contacts and calendar sync unchecked. Therefore, this account hasn't yet interacted with any apps/programs. Is the reason I can't delete this @gmail.com account because Android recognizes it as a 'proper' Gmail address? I have searched for similar threads, but ultimately the discussions there seem to focus on different problems.
so when I got my Droid, I couldn't remember the password of my gmail that I made 2 years prior and never used. Is there a way to make that one my default app one and delete the one we set up at the store without a factory reset?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy wife recently got a Droid Eris, set up her Gmail account and decided she didn't like the email address you had chosen. I created a second Gmail account for her, but when I try to send her and email to it, she does not get notification on her phone. Only if you send and email to her "original" Gmail address. Is it possible to set it up to receive notifications from both addresses on her phone? Delete one address and just use the new one? Etc, etc.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi just got my droid back from being flashed to cricket and i gave the man who did it the wrong password for my gmail account. so he made me a new one. it wont let me delete it says because it has something to do with apps. im trying to setup my other account so i can get all my paid apps back. i dont mind having the new account but would like my other one for the apps.it wants me to do a reset to erase all user data but ill loose flash files if i do. any ideas?

We have a work phone for our three shift supervisors to share. Any way or app that would allow us to setup three exchange emails that are each secured by a PIN or password? I've seen that android tablets can now switch users , but I don't think that is available on the phone yet. Phone is a Samsung S4.

So far I have three email accounts including my gmail account on my eris. When I first setup my msn, and school email I was able to separate the accounts into two separate icons. Now that I have figured out how to add my yahoo account I would like to have a separate icon for this also but can't figure out how I did this the first time.

Can this be done through the Gmail app on android? I have not seen an option for it. I could use the email app on android to add my work accounts, but I would much rather keep everything on the Gmail app, mainly so I don't get multiple alerts when I get email.

I really like what I see from this phone, but I wonder how it handles multiple Gmail accounts. I have three Gmail accounts for different purposes. My iPhone 3G handles these with no problem. I don't see anything in the Hero manual that indicates that it will play well with multiple Gmail accounts.

The first time was a few weeks ago after having the same accounts for months. The next time was a couple of weeks ago and then it happened again today. I checked my emails when I got to work, and then while I was sitting in a meeting, I picked up my phone to peek at emails and all 3 accounts were gone along with my corporate calendar account. I re-entered the accounts and it loads everything, but this is kind of annoying.

My only issue is the Droid Inc doesn't support more than one exchange accounts and I have 6. I have read that the original Droid did support multiple exchange accounts, but haven't seen if the droid x does or not. Before I go through the trouble of ordering one and waiting on it to come in, can anybody confirm or deny if the droid x does support multiple exchange account and if so, is there a limit to that number.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOn my Droid Eris (just updated to Android 2.1), I have taken advantage of 2.1 offering support for multiple Gmail accounts. So I have 3 Gmail Accounts in the Gmail app. My question pertains to how Android syncs the contact lists (which include many of the same contacts) from these 3 separate accounts. Will I end up with dozens of duplicate contacts? If so, is there a workaround? Also, is there an easier way to switch between different Gmail accounts? E.g., in the Gmail app, you have to go to Menu then Accounts, which is inefficient. The built-in mail app displays a list of accounts when you open it (an ideal approach), but I would prefer to not open my Gmail accounts in the default mail app.

I know that when you setup the phone you have to tie it to a Google/gmail account, but what if my wife wants to check her email and stuff as well? She isn't going to have a smartphone of her own. Is there a way to designate an app or widget for her Google account on my smartphone? Or will she have to go through the browser every time and log-in?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had been using IMEasy for its multiple-account capability, I found my phone running warm when multiple accounts were connected though, and the battery drained fast; down to 70% in 3 hours in a poor signal area. I thought it was the poor signal. Installed Trillian yesterday, it's connected to 3 IM accounts and after 5 hours I'm only down to 90%, in the same area. I've been a happy Trillian user on the PC, I already had an Astra account from that so setup was SIMPLE. I HIGHLY suggest this app, though it's still in Beta and it IS missing a couple options I would like they're not critical issues to me, and I'm sure they'll fix them.

I know this sounds like an ad but I'm just a happy customer.
The 2 missing items (maybe one really) are the ability to set the notification tone in the app and the ability to change the notification LED color in the app.
I have 3 emails I check on my Incredible, all are pop 3 accounts, is there anyway to make or set up a folder or 2 for saved emails.
