I keep opening stuff I don't mean to while scrolling through the app drawer or sliding 1 of 7 screens filled with apps in Home++. Is there a double tap app, or maybe an app that gives you control over how long you have to touch the screen to constitute a true tap?

OK, so it was like Christmas morning when I picked up my phone at 6 AM and found an update request waiting for me! The process was smooth and quick although it took awhile after the update to resync something. I'm guessing the contacts were reupdating with Facebook in light of the new security measures that FB is taking with user's information. Anyway, so far I am OK with the obvious changes. I may have liked the old version better (i.e. the home screen layout) but if it had been like it is now all along, I doubt I would have cared. The one odd thing I noticed however is that suddenly I have two Google calendar app icons in my application tab. Both take me to the same place when launched. Anyone else seeing double? I'm not sure how to go about removing one of them or if I should even attempt to. It's not a HUGE problem, but it's like new dental work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo out of the blue today my hand cent starts getting 2 messages each time i get a text message. Even displays both of them in the bubbles. I've made sure hand cent is the default and of course I've disabled the stock message apps. But after I installed the new froyo update I have 2 txt msg stock apps. Messaging and Text Message. Anyone know what .apk to remove to get remove them and where those apks are... and the big thing... how to get the dang double messages to stop. It stinks because it makes me always have an icon on the notification bar saying I've got unanswered messages.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI just got my first android phone, the droid x yesterday. Loving it so far but I've got a minor issue that drives me insane (even though it really is a non issue). I've got the volume keys on the right, and then the home and back keys at the bottom front. Whenever I click home or back, they do the home and back function, but also do volume up and volume down with every click. Its painfully annoying, because it vibrates and pops up the volume window over the top of everything, every time. And obviously, the home and back keys are two of the most clicked buttons on the phone, so its constantly going up n down. I think this also adds to battery drainage as its double functioning/working twice as much. Does anyone know of a way to disable the home lkey and back key from controlling my volume as well?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMaybe I'm missing something but in the WinMo version of Swype theres an option to double a word that came out wrong and choose from a list of alternatives. That function doesn't seem to be included in the android one. I don't have nearly as many mistakes now with a capacitive touch screen as opposed to my old resistive, but I still get one every now and again and its easier to do that than place the cursor, backspace, and re-swype.

Buzz again and Droid! Again. So I think I got two texts when I have one. I don't have handecent or anything. I'm geting a lot of bugs ones I wasn't expecting and its testing me on if I want to keep the phone. Right now its a love and hate thing

One thing that annoyed me was having to double tap on things like menu items, when I wasn't used to having to double tap those before. It is very annoying to have to go back to the homescreen to turn it on. And I think the bluetooth button on the call screen should turn it on if u press it but it just shows you if its connected.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid since June of 2010 and up until a few days ago the keys have started to stick. Pretty much when I press down on them they stick for a split second and spring back up making a click noise each time I click on certain keys (Almost all of them). Not many of the keys are giving me double letters when I type due to this but some are. I called Verizon about it they want to troubleshoot the issue and I have no problem with doing that, I just will do it later at home since I am out now. So what do you guys think..? Should I replace it or keep using it some more see if the sticking stops? I really REALLY hate to replace my Droid seeing as it's new fresh out of the box and I've had no other problems with it.

However, I want to make playlists via computer GUI and transfer that file. How do you do it. I can create play lists through the phone but that is tough using a phone.
I want to do it like I did with double twist and just copy that to my phone but for some reason now DT wont work on my phone. This is a huge deal breaker, transferring songs is ok, but I want to organize it/make play lists on my PC which is much easier and then transfer it over. Any help with DT or making a play list using Itunes/Zune/DT and transferring it over using drag/drop?
I heard that double clicking a swype word should bring up the word choice window but it only highlights the word when I do it. anyway to turn it on?

Well I've had alot of people messaging me about converters for music, video, photos etc and I decided to just post up a thread for people to ask questions if they need to. Anyways, the best converter that I could reccomend, HANDS DOWN for any needs whether they be for your phone or not is the SUPERC converter which can be found here
With it you can convert virtually any media type into any other media type. For starters here are some steps...
1. Drag your file to be converted into the que.
2. Double click on it to bring up the detailed info.
3. Select the output you want from the drag down menu at the top left
4. Match up the info for the video and audio (if applicable) to the details you brought up about the clip. Yes this is a bit techy, but its really simple, just read and click on the buttons. If your framerate or bitrate doesnt match up, always pick the lower one. I.E: If you have a framrate of 96, and the options are 108 and 90, always pick the lowest of the two.
5. Just click convert! and wait until it gives you an output file size!
Yes it may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but its great to be able to convert anything into, well, anything. I use it for all my converting needs, and even if your not a techy person, even if you dont know what a bitrate is (shame on you! haha jk) its still a great program which is easy to use, whether you have circuit boards instead of brains or not.
This feature was pretty swell on the blackberry storm. Just curious if this feature is available on the Motorboatin son of a Droid X.

I have tried to drop and drag the music from my library to my phone icon and to my music icon under my phone and it never puts anything in there. I can't sync until I can get it to work.
