I have gmail. Its kind of annoying the way my setup is right now. I get my email through the gmail app right away then I get an email through the main email app about 5 mins later with the same email. How should I stop these double emails from happening?

I'm able to receive my Gmail with the built in Gmail client, but not able to send any. The email just sits in my Outbox in "Sending" status. I've tried waiting, but it never goes through. I eventually go and delete this "Sending" email from the Outbox. However, I'm able to send/receive with the regular Email client that's set up to my work's Exchange server.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had my droid X for about 3 weeks now. I want to learn though, and i figure this is a good place to do it. I love my phone. but it confuses me. And Ive had some issues that Ive seen a lot of other people have had since i updated to froyo. My biggest issues are my gmail dosen't seem to be getting new emails to my phone, the text messages being all goofy, and I don't really like the way the screen will rotate to view the other landscape way. I've seen people talk about doing a factory reset. What exactly does that do? And will i lose my contacts and such? Also, what does it mean to root a phone? I looked around but couldn't seem to find any answers.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since i rooted my DX (rooted and deodexed with revolution), i've been having this weird email problem. When i go to delete emails in my gmail inbox on my phone they delete off the phone, but not in my actual gmail inbox online. Because when i delete the emails off my phone the inbox counter still reads all those emails that are still there. Well when i go online to delete them it goes back to normal. How can i fix this to where i dont have to keep goin online to delete emails?

In the gmail notifier I have it set to use the gmail notifier icon (not Android 1.5/2.0 icons). My gmail account is not setup in the default mail client Why am I getting 2x notifications for new emails?

My phone's stock gmail app will show new emails so I look at them and then they are all read, showing 0 new.But when I login to the web browser version, 5 minutes or even later(up to hours later), the web browser gmail is not updating to show that I already read the emails.I'm on JH2. So maybe it is a bug with the firmware?Or maybe a setting got changed but I'm not seeing how to handle the issue.

Now when I open my gmail, I need to open each email individually in order to delete it. Is there a way to change this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOK, so it was like Christmas morning when I picked up my phone at 6 AM and found an update request waiting for me! The process was smooth and quick although it took awhile after the update to resync something. I'm guessing the contacts were reupdating with Facebook in light of the new security measures that FB is taking with user's information. Anyway, so far I am OK with the obvious changes. I may have liked the old version better (i.e. the home screen layout) but if it had been like it is now all along, I doubt I would have cared. The one odd thing I noticed however is that suddenly I have two Google calendar app icons in my application tab. Both take me to the same place when launched. Anyone else seeing double? I'm not sure how to go about removing one of them or if I should even attempt to. It's not a HUGE problem, but it's like new dental work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo out of the blue today my hand cent starts getting 2 messages each time i get a text message. Even displays both of them in the bubbles. I've made sure hand cent is the default and of course I've disabled the stock message apps. But after I installed the new froyo update I have 2 txt msg stock apps. Messaging and Text Message. Anyone know what .apk to remove to get remove them and where those apks are... and the big thing... how to get the dang double messages to stop. It stinks because it makes me always have an icon on the notification bar saying I've got unanswered messages.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI just got my first android phone, the droid x yesterday. Loving it so far but I've got a minor issue that drives me insane (even though it really is a non issue). I've got the volume keys on the right, and then the home and back keys at the bottom front. Whenever I click home or back, they do the home and back function, but also do volume up and volume down with every click. Its painfully annoying, because it vibrates and pops up the volume window over the top of everything, every time. And obviously, the home and back keys are two of the most clicked buttons on the phone, so its constantly going up n down. I think this also adds to battery drainage as its double functioning/working twice as much. Does anyone know of a way to disable the home lkey and back key from controlling my volume as well?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMaybe I'm missing something but in the WinMo version of Swype theres an option to double a word that came out wrong and choose from a list of alternatives. That function doesn't seem to be included in the android one. I don't have nearly as many mistakes now with a capacitive touch screen as opposed to my old resistive, but I still get one every now and again and its easier to do that than place the cursor, backspace, and re-swype.

Buzz again and Droid! Again. So I think I got two texts when I have one. I don't have handecent or anything. One thing that annoyed me was having to double tap on things like menu items, when I wasn't used to having to double tap those before. It is very annoying to have to go back to the homescreen to turn it on. And I think the bluetooth button on the call screen should turn it on if u press it but it just shows you if its connected.
