Is there anyway to set double tapping the home key to turn on bluetooth? I like to leave it off until I get a call. It is very annoying to have to go back to the homescreen to turn it on. And I think the bluetooth button on the call screen should turn it on if u press it but it just shows you if its connected.

I just demo'd the Droid X in store today. One thing that annoyed me was having to double tap on things like menu items, when I wasn't used to having to double tap those before. Here is what I'm talking about (take a look as he double taps the "More" icon at 3:34 in the video):

I am using locale but I can't figure out how to make the bluetooth turn on when I leave home. I have a "home" situation which turns it off with my home address as the situation. Any suggestions?

I assumed that wherever you tapped, it zoomed in to that spot, but often it doesn't do that for me. Instead it might end up halfway up or down the page. Is that normal? It just happened on Wikipedia.
I'm using the stock browser.
After installing the Handcent app, I now get 2 notations for every text message I receive. One from Handcant, and another from the Droid's default text message app. Is there a way to turn off the default text msg app?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI updated my Evo to 2.2 when it came out, but I just noticed something about flash in the browser: I cannot interact with any of the buttons. For example, when browsing the youtube full site in the browser (not the youtube app) you can hit the button to turn on captions, and hit the other button to switch to HD resolution. For some reason, I cant figure out how to hit those buttons. I tried zooming in all the way, and I hit the resolution button, and the resolutions popped up for about .5 of a second, then went away, its too quick to hit it. I tried double tapping the flash to make it full screen and that doesnt work either. The only thing I can get to work is the slider bar, which seems to work fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my first android phone, the droid x yesterday. Loving it so far but I've got a minor issue that drives me insane (even though it really is a non issue). I've got the volume keys on the right, and then the home and back keys at the bottom front. Whenever I click home or back, they do the home and back function, but also do volume up and volume down with every click. Its painfully annoying, because it vibrates and pops up the volume window over the top of everything, every time. And obviously, the home and back keys are two of the most clicked buttons on the phone, so its constantly going up n down. I think this also adds to battery drainage as its double functioning/working twice as much. Does anyone know of a way to disable the home lkey and back key from controlling my volume as well?

Any suggestions? (Love the phones by the way!) OH!!! And, bought the Seido 3500 mah battery. it really is not that big, fits in my hand nicely. I will let you know how it lasts. charged last night and still strong today. But I will keep updated.

When I turn off my bluetooth headset, when the phone recognizes that it is not connected, it tones - some sort of ringtone. It's pretty loud and I'd like to turn it off if possible, but can't find it in any of the settings. Anybody know where this setting is?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo despite my gut feeling I took off the film behind the screen as the other thread indicated.Now my phone slides smoother but when it is closed and using it in portrait view, the bottom and top left of the phone makes a tapping noise everytime I press there. It's really annoying specially when I'm typing something or going back and I keep hearing tap tap silent silent silent tap tap tap.As I took a closer look, it seems like the legs on the left side on the back of the screen don't quite reach the keyboard base, therefore creating a gap and tapping the keyboard base whenever i press there.Has this happened to yours too? If so, do you have the film in the back or have you taken it off?

Is there any way to disable the screen that shows all the 7 screens after tapping the home screen? If not disable get rid of it all together.
Or maybe an app to do so?
I recently added home++, changing for the better the way my droid looks and works. But of course I can change back to my native "home" (or whatever you call it) by using the "home chooser." When I go back all the original widgets and settings are still there. Does this slow down the droid, use battery life, or take up too much space? I don't want to delete the original home just in case home++ doesn't work for me in a few days. Should I do anything to optimize running both "homes?"

Previously, I had "turned off" the notification sounds from the stock HTC messaging app, but now I cannot remember where I did that. View 3 Replies View RelatedOK, so it was like Christmas morning when I picked up my phone at 6 AM and found an update request waiting for me! The process was smooth and quick although it took awhile after the update to resync something. I'm guessing the contacts were reupdating with Facebook in light of the new security measures that FB is taking with user's information. Anyway, so far I am OK with the obvious changes. I may have liked the old version better (i.e. the home screen layout) but if it had been like it is now all along, I doubt I would have cared. The one odd thing I noticed however is that suddenly I have two Google calendar app icons in my application tab. Both take me to the same place when launched. Anyone else seeing double? I'm not sure how to go about removing one of them or if I should even attempt to. It's not a HUGE problem, but it's like new dental work.

I've made sure hand cent is the default and of course I've disabled the stock message apps. But after I installed the new froyo update I have 2 txt msg stock apps. Messaging and Text Message. Anyone know what .apk to remove to get remove them and where those apks are... and the big thing... how to get the dang double messages to stop. It stinks because it makes me always have an icon on the notification bar saying I've got unanswered messages.
