I heard that double clicking a swype word should bring up the word choice window but it only highlights the word when I do it. anyway to turn it on?

Well I've had alot of people messaging me about converters for music, video, photos etc and I decided to just post up a thread for people to ask questions if they need to. Anyways, the best converter that I could reccomend, HANDS DOWN for any needs whether they be for your phone or not is the SUPERC converter which can be found here
With it you can convert virtually any media type into any other media type. For starters here are some steps...
1. Drag your file to be converted into the que.
2. Double click on it to bring up the detailed info.
3. Select the output you want from the drag down menu at the top left
4. Match up the info for the video and audio (if applicable) to the details you brought up about the clip. Yes this is a bit techy, but its really simple, just read and click on the buttons. If your framerate or bitrate doesnt match up, always pick the lower one. I.E: If you have a framrate of 96, and the options are 108 and 90, always pick the lowest of the two.
5. Just click convert! and wait until it gives you an output file size!
Yes it may seem a bit overwhelming at first, but its great to be able to convert anything into, well, anything. I use it for all my converting needs, and even if your not a techy person, even if you dont know what a bitrate is (shame on you! haha jk) its still a great program which is easy to use, whether you have circuit boards instead of brains or not.
Maybe I'm missing something but in the WinMo version of Swype theres an option to double a word that came out wrong and choose from a list of alternatives. That function doesn't seem to be included in the android one. I don't have nearly as many mistakes now with a capacitive touch screen as opposed to my old resistive, but I still get one every now and again and its easier to do that than place the cursor, backspace, and re-swype.

Now I press HOME button, and from homescreen click again on my app icon, which launches A and adds it on top of the activity stack, which now looks like this: A-B-A. But I just want to bring my application to foreground, is that possible in Android?

The way the company sets up my work calender is when I want to see what the schedule is I have to double click to open it. On a regular browser double clicking is no problem but on the EVO all it does is zoom in.

I was with family today at the T-Mobile store (They're all upgrading to the Samsung Vibrant today) and I was giving them all an intro to Swype on the demo. Now when I was doing this I noticed that Swype on the Vibrant had a feature I don't seem to have on my EVO. Basically while you're swyping, say you swype a word wrong right? On the Vibrant you double tap the incorrect word and it brings up a correct suggestion list. My Swype doesn't do this. Anybody know if this is an option somewhere, or what I'm missing here?

If I ever decide to cancel typing (say I have text input open and the Swype keyboard is covering the bottom half of my screen) the keyboard stays open and I have to tap home again for it to disappear. Are there any workarounds for this or is it simply because its beta? I noticed that even if I revert back to the default Sense keyboard it does the same thing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the Swype beta for android installed on my phone and I am only having one problem - double tapping in the word window. I know if you misspell a word you should be able to double tap it in the window after the fact and it should bring up the word choice window for you to choose. However, with Swype on my Evo, all it does it highlight the word and I cannot change the word.
My other question is about internal memory. My phone has been dropping MB of internal storage like a bad habit. I went from 400 to 320 in a matter of a few days and have not installed or saved anything outside of my sd card. Why is this happening? and what happens if that memory reaches 200 - 100 or even 0?
I've downloaded Beautiful Widget and have the temp and clock on the homescreen. My question is, when you click on the widget, it doesn't bring you to a full weather program like weatherchannel or weatherbug? Meaning like, in the "stock" weather widgets, if you click on them while open, it brings u into a weather program where you then have the option to look at a closer look or detailed forecast.

I'm attempting to create a fairly simple Tic Tac Toe app for Android. I've set up my UI nicely so far so that there are a "grid" of TextViews. As a sort of "debug" right now, I have it so that when one clicks on a TextView, it should display the value of buttonId in a message box. Right now, it displays the correct assigned value for the first element I click, but no matter what I click afterwards, it always just displays the first value buttonID had. I attempted to debug it but couldn't exactly find a point where it would pull the old value (to the best of my knowledge, it reassigned the value).
There's a good possibility I'm missing something small, because this is my first Android project (of any note). Can someone help get different values of buttonId to appear or point out the error in my logic? The code...
First and foremost I want to be able to use the magnifying glass to relocate my cursor whenever I'm mid-text and realize that I've made a mistake while typing. Sure, I can just take a stab at the screen and hope I get it in the right place with one touch, but sometimes that doesn't work. For example: at the edge of the text box, next to the "send" button (landscape mode). I don't really like having to poke at the small space between the last word in my message and the send button after I've gone back to correct a letter or two. I've missed and hit "send" before. That's no good.
On rare occasions I can get the magnifying glass to come up, but it's usually a game of chance for me. If I hold my finger down on the screen to bring it up, a menu pops up. How can I bring up the magnifying glass a la iPod Touch for sifting through my messages?
After that, how do I highlight text for copying and pasting purposes?
Anyone else have a clicking sound coming from there physical keyboard when you press each button?

View 1 Replies View Relatedjust wondering if this is normal or not, someone told me it is normal for the droid.for instance - when your on the home screen and you hold the camera button down, it'll make about 3-clicks when starting up. it also makes the clicking noise when it is focusing before taking the photo. the most noticable is when using an app like shopsavvy or barcode scanner are these apps supposed to be focusing back and forth non stop? and if so, is it 'normal' for that clicking noise to go non-stop while it is focusing back and forth?
I keep opening stuff I don't mean to while scrolling through the app drawer or sliding 1 of 7 screens filled with apps in Home++. Is there a double tap app, or maybe an app that gives you control over how long you have to touch the screen to constitute a true tap?
View 3 Replies View Relatedon my droid x whenever the phone vibrates either when im clicking something, getting a text or a incoming call. the phone makes a buzz noise. also i noticed the phone does not vibrate as heavy as it should and is not as noticable when its in your pocket with the sound off. i used a droid 1 and a droid incredible in the past and both of those the vibration was quieter. so im wondering are everyones droid x like this or does mine just have a defective vibration mechanism or something?

However can someone tell me how to turn off the clicking noise when I press a letter? I like the vibrate to let me know that I touched it but could do without the Storm-esque click. There was one more but I forgot it at the moment.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I used to use Swype on xtrROM 3.0.3 and it worked fine. After switching to 4.0.6.1, the swiping action doesn't produce any text but tapping the letters does. I've been all over the Swype forum and see a lot of complaints that Swype has the same problem on Froyo. Any ideas? At least I still was able to find SahpeWriter but it isn't as smooth as Swype was.
View 7 Replies View RelatedOK, so it was like Christmas morning when I picked up my phone at 6 AM and found an update request waiting for me! The process was smooth and quick although it took awhile after the update to resync something. I'm guessing the contacts were reupdating with Facebook in light of the new security measures that FB is taking with user's information. Anyway, so far I am OK with the obvious changes. I may have liked the old version better (i.e. the home screen layout) but if it had been like it is now all along, I doubt I would have cared. The one odd thing I noticed however is that suddenly I have two Google calendar app icons in my application tab. Both take me to the same place when launched. Anyone else seeing double? I'm not sure how to go about removing one of them or if I should even attempt to. It's not a HUGE problem, but it's like new dental work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf you have your droid closed, and you press the down firmly where the search button is located does your droid make a clicking noise like its hitting the top of the keyboard? when i push the right side of the phone firmly it makes the noise and feels looser. is this because i took the plastic off the back of the keyboard?
if i want to exchange at best buy should i use their insurance? if i do exchange should i just tell them it reboots in case they dont want to replace because of this noise? Or is this noise/touching normal?
This is driving me nuts! Ive had my phone for a week and all of a sudden today it makes the worst clicking sounds when I type anything. It literally sounds like a typewriter.
I have Settings>Sound & Display>Audible selection "unchecked" and I still get this.

Ok I found it and boy did I have to do some digging. settings>applications>running services>android keyboard>Sound on Keypress = Uncheck.
I've seen posts for Swype on here a millilon times, problem is when I download them it tells me that the trial is over and wont let me "swype" only type. Does anyone have a Swype APK file that doesn't expire or do these not exist?
