Motorola Droid :: Listening Podcast Over Bluetooth?

Oct 29, 2009

I have a blackberry tour and use podtrapper to download and play all my podcasts. With this app I'm able to listen to podcasts with my bluetooth headset. This is a great feature and I'm wondering will the droid allow music/podcasts to be played over bluetooth? While I'm at work I leave in my headset and nobody knows I am listening to my podcasts.

Is it possible to play music in my car via the headphone jack( i have a line in for mp3 players on my stereo) and have the blue tooth for calls running simultaneously. I tried this a few times and when I do, I end up having the music play in my headset while i am still in a call or it will stop playing music while I am in a call and bring it back after my call is over.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Listening To Music On Stereo Bluetooth Eats Internal Memory

Sep 15, 2010

I recently bought a Back Beat stereo bluetooth headset for my HERO. After listening for a few days I got a warning stating that my internal memory was getting low. Soon after that, I could not receive text anymore. I did a hard reset on the phone and the memory was restored, but this is the only way I could get the memory to come back. Is there any way to restore the internal memory without doing a hard reset and loosing everything?

Motorola Droid :: Music Skip While Listening

Apr 19, 2010

I've got an annoying issue when listening to music on my Droid. During any song, any album, at any time, the music will skip. Like the old CD players did when they were jiggled around, etc. I've tried it in every situation possible. It skips in every music app, any headphone or AUX cable, wether its being charged OR not. I thought it may be happening due to network things like receiving a text, or when Google syncs, but I don't think that's it. One of the reasons I got the Droid was for it to replace my iPod, but I can't even listen to music! This happened before 2.1, after, and even when I was ROM'd and rooted.

Motorola Droid :: Doggcatcher Not Start When Listening To Music Player?

Nov 11, 2009

I have two sources of audio: the music player and Doggcatcher for podcasts. Whenever I listen to a track in the music player and then stop listening, it remembers and keeps it "ready". Then I go and listen to a podcast and, again, the last thing played remains ready to play at any point. So, here is the problem. When I go to listen to music, I can get into the music player and hit play, no problem. But, the first time I use the inline remote to pause and then play, that "play" command turns on the podcast player as well and BOTH start playing, music and podcast.

Oddly, when I am just in Doggcatcher and play a podcast, the inline remote will not automatically start the music player. Is there a way to make sure Doggcatcher will not start when I want to listen to the music player? I suppose I could load up Google Listen and see what would happen with that program instead.

Motorola Droid : Scratchy Sound When Listening To Voice Mail

Nov 16, 2009

I don't know if this is just a cell phone thing because my last phone on Sprint did it too. But when I call in to my voice mail and hear the female voice of the menu system, she is very scratchy. It doesn't matter what volume level I am at either, it's almost as if the sound quality of the VM system is just extremely poor. When I use my Droid speaker for other things I don't hear this at all. I watched several movie trailers in high quality on YouTube and turned the volume to max and it was as clear (and loud) as I could ever hope.So has anyone else noticed this?I wonder why this occurs?

Android :: Droid X - Podcast Subscription And Sync

Jul 22, 2010

I've done lots of searching, and I've found partial solutions, but not exactly what I'm looking for. Not sure it even exists, but I'm going to ask! Got a new Droid X last week and love it. Coming from iPhone with iTunes. I listen to podcasts for several hours most nights at work using Bluetooth headphones. My iPhone worked great for this because I would plug it in each day and it would automatically sync the newest podcasts from the list I selected. I'd like to continue using iTunes because it is very nice for auto updating and I have dozens of podcasts subscribed to already. But here's what I need to do:

1) I need a way to sync the newest 3-5 podcasts from Select podcast subscriptions. I've found an Android solution or two that will sync podcasts, but they appear to either sync All podcasts, or unplayed podcasts from All subscriptions. What I want to is what the iPhone can do: sync the most recent 3-5 podcasts from only the ones I select. I would have to delete Dozens of subscriptions to be able to sync them to my Droid if I use the current tools I discovered.

2) I need a way to play the podcasts on the Droid, knowing which ones are unplayed. I've found solutions that will allow me to play the podcasts, but I can't seem to tell which ones I've listened to. On the iPhone, there's a dot that tells you if its unplayed or not. On the Android, there's just a big list of podcasts and there's no way to tell if I listened to it or not (from what I've found).

3) This one is not a requirement, but it would be nice if I could do this wirelessly because I've had a bit of trouble consistently mounting the Droid X to my iMac. I tried TuneSync, which does wireless iTunes syncing, but again, I can't choose individual podcasts to sync, it appears to be all or nothing.

I'm not hopeful that there's a solution for this, so I'm prepared to continue using my deactivated iPhone for listening to podcasts if I have to. It'll just be a pain having to carry both the Droid X and my iPhone with me at work.

HTC Droid Eris :: 3.5 MM - MP3 Listening

Mar 8, 2010

I listen to MP3's with headphones quite often while @ the golf range about 2-3 times a week. I just plug in a random non OEM 3.5 MM earbud headphones (like the white apple one lol ), but sometimes more often than not the eris goes buggy and starts fast forwarding through songs / skipping songs / playing at a faster rate. It seems to this when you press or slightly wiggle the 3.5 MM jack on top, so when it's in my pocket i 'accidently' hit it sometimes. Now i dont know if touching the jack is why it's doing this but that is just theory/conclusion. Does anyone get this problem (people who use headphones while playing sports or having the phone in their pockets?) and/or does anyone know why it happens or how to fix it?

- Another question i have is an accessory question but ill go ahead and ask it here to kill two birds with one stone. Can anyone suggest a good OEM earbud headphone for the Eris? I saw some that aren't actualy 3.5 MM jacks but plug into the Mini-USB port on the bottom, I wonder what kind of headphones came with some people's eris'.

Motorola Droid :: Transfer Droid Phonebook To Bluetooth Enabled Car Hands Free Kit

Nov 11, 2009

Found a few threads about people having problems transferring their phonebook to their hands free kit in their automobile. Had the same problem myself - was able to connect and pair with the car kit. I was able to make and receive calls, but didn't have the phonebook.

Then yesterday, while setting in the car, I was going to re-pair the connection between the phone and car I noticed that in the Notification Bar that the car was asking permission to receive the phonebook from the phone. Opened the Notification and granted permission and clicked on always grant access (or something similar). Phonebook was then transfered. Haven't had a problem with it since...

Motorola Droid :: What Bluetooth Headset Do You Use?

Jan 26, 2010

Haven't seen a recent thread on this lately so I'm curious what Bluetooth headsets you guys use out there? Rate 'em 1-5, link 'em too if you can! I currently use:

-Plantronics Discovery 975 5/5
-Plantronics Discovery 925 4/5
-Aliph Jawbone2 4/5
-Plantronics Voyager 520 3/5

1. Plantronics Discovery 975. I've got 2 of these actually one for my PlayStation 3 and one for my Droid. It's the main Bluetooth headset I use these days. Sound quality is excellent. It sticks in your ear with no hoop, is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. It comes with a little leather case with a battery built in so that you can recharge the headset up to 3x when away from AC power. Has a little LCD panel to show you charge of both devices. (Infinitely easier than deciphering how many blinks equals what battery charge!) Best voice. You may see them on this seasons "24" as it's the headphone of choice at CTU

2. Plantronics Discovery 925. Earlier version of the 975. Great for call quality, battery life etc. Comes with same little case. Design is a little different but it gets the job done. No LCD screen on the case. Mainly used with my work Blackberry. Uses MicroSD charger, so you get an extra for your Droid!

3. Aliph Jawbone2. Much smaller than the original. Very tiny and chic. Great sound quality (it uses a little nub to detect vibration in your jaw to know when to isolate outside noise (using it's patented NoiseAssassin) so you could be on a crowded street and still be pretty clear. Only downsides are the battery life isn't amazing and the proprietary charger plus it only comes with a USB. (Becoming less of an issue these days as I'm starting to acquire a ton of AC USB chargers)

4. Plantronics Discovery 520. My original work Bluetooth headset. Does a decent job but is a little bulky. The ear hook makes it a bit uncomfortable to wear for long periods and not quick to get on. Has a proprietary weird shaped charging port. Battery life was average if that.
