I see another post on this but it's a little outdated so I'm hoping there has been a recent development.Looking for a way to transmit audio from media (music, movies, audiobooks...not phone calls) to my standard bluetooth wireless device, which is not A2DP.This worked perfectly with no tweaks on my enV Touch so clearly it isn't a hardware issue, which by extension means there should be a software workaround, possibly in the form of a downloadable App.Anything that would work is cool though registry edits, whatever, I just desperately want to listen to audiobooks at work without buying a new headset!

This seems so basic so many I'm missing something, but is it possible to listen to voicemail via a Bluetooth headset? When I'm driving and want to check voicemail, I don't want to have to put the headset to my ear (and in CA, it's illegal to do so) and when Bluetooth is enabled, the speakerphone option is disabled.

I have a blackberry tour and use podtrapper to download and play all my podcasts. With this app I'm able to listen to podcasts with my bluetooth headset. This is a great feature and I'm wondering will the droid allow music/podcasts to be played over bluetooth? While I'm at work I leave in my headset and nobody knows I am listening to my podcasts.

Looking to get a new BT headset. I want A2DP so I can listen to media. It's so tough to tell which headsets have A2DP, so I figured I'd post up for suggestions.BlueAnt Q1: Supposed to have some kind of Android specifics, but I couldn't find info. Also, voice control is not my thing.Samsung WEP870: Kind of interested in hearing from someone who has this one. It just might work.Wise and Blue WB130: Found it by luck. Never heard of the company, but reviews were good. Anyone have one?

Haven't seen a recent thread on this lately so I'm curious what Bluetooth headsets you guys use out there? Rate 'em 1-5, link 'em too if you can! I currently use:
-Plantronics Discovery 975 5/5
-Plantronics Discovery 925 4/5
-Aliph Jawbone2 4/5
-Plantronics Voyager 520 3/5
1. Plantronics Discovery 975. I've got 2 of these actually one for my PlayStation 3 and one for my Droid. It's the main Bluetooth headset I use these days. Sound quality is excellent. It sticks in your ear with no hoop, is comfortable to wear for long periods of time. It comes with a little leather case with a battery built in so that you can recharge the headset up to 3x when away from AC power. Has a little LCD panel to show you charge of both devices. (Infinitely easier than deciphering how many blinks equals what battery charge!) Best voice. You may see them on this seasons "24" as it's the headphone of choice at CTU
2. Plantronics Discovery 925. Earlier version of the 975. Great for call quality, battery life etc. Comes with same little case. Design is a little different but it gets the job done. No LCD screen on the case. Mainly used with my work Blackberry. Uses MicroSD charger, so you get an extra for your Droid!
3. Aliph Jawbone2. Much smaller than the original. Very tiny and chic. Great sound quality (it uses a little nub to detect vibration in your jaw to know when to isolate outside noise (using it's patented NoiseAssassin) so you could be on a crowded street and still be pretty clear. Only downsides are the battery life isn't amazing and the proprietary charger plus it only comes with a USB. (Becoming less of an issue these days as I'm starting to acquire a ton of AC USB chargers)
4. Plantronics Discovery 520. My original work Bluetooth headset. Does a decent job but is a little bulky. The ear hook makes it a bit uncomfortable to wear for long periods and not quick to get on. Has a proprietary weird shaped charging port. Battery life was average if that.

Hi Guys, Ive had Google Listen on my HTC Hero for a while now, but never really used it until I was hooked up to wireless.
Today I downloaded the BBC Podcast app that links with Google Listen and decided to have a little play around with it whilst in work. I have been listening to BBC's 606 Football Phone in for about half an hour now and my 3G Data Usage Watchdog has not budged..........Now before I get excited and start listening to Podcasts all day....does anybody know a reason as to why my data is not being used?
I added the podcast to a "Queue" does this have anything to do with it? I havent downloaded the podcast!

I have my DX paired to a motorcycle helmet bluetooth headset (Cardo Scala G4). It's setup on the A2DP profile. It plays music just fine, as well as makes and receives calls. The problem is that when I have an incoming call, my headset does not ring at all. The only thing that happens is, if I'm playing music, the music stops.
I've scoured the internet and cannot find any resolution. I know that it's the phone (and not the headset) because when I pair the headset to my wife's LG Dare, it rings through the headset speakers perfectly. This is a major problem, and I'm hoping that there IS a way to overcome this.

So when I bought my Droid, the offered me a "Bluetooth Package" which included the LG HBM-210 headset, a case, and a car charger (I can't remember if the screen covers were included or seperate). Is it possible to play music on that headset? Right now, after I pair it with my Droid, it only starts receiving sound when I receive or place a call. When I play music on the build-in player or with Pandora/Last.fm/Imeem nothing happens. It just plays from the speaker. If I can't listen to music through it at all I think I'll probably return it along with the case/cover I got.

I have a problem with audio through my bluetooth stereo headset. I have an old Logitech FreePulse Wireless that I use and have tested it with my old samsung p2 mp3 player, no problems there. I also dont have a problem using a bluetooth earpiece for calls. However, I can't get any sound through the headset. It connects fine, shows "media playing through bluetooth" or whatever it says when I change the volume, yet nothing but silence comes out. Also I am on leaked 2.2, dont know if it worked on 2.1 because I never tried.

I did a quick search and found a couple headsets mentioned but i was wondering if anyone could tell me the best ones for working out. I want Bluetooth cause i hate wires hanging in the way all the time.
correct me if i am wrong but you can use the skip song feature if the headphones have it right? I know the iphone doesn't allow you to use the skip track because it doesn't support it.

I have a motorola bluetooth headset and with my old Storm I could push the button on the headset and it would say "Say a command" from here I could say "Call John Doe mobile" and it would call him up. Haven't figured out how to make this work on the Droid in the same manner natively. Is it possible or is there an application. Purpose of bluetooth is to be hands free. Its not very hands free if I have to pull my phone out my pocket to dial the number first to be able to use the headset.

I have a BlueAnt T1 headset that I use with my Droid 2. When you turn on the headset it says "Powering Up" then "your phone is connected" followed by a child's voice that says "Droid 2." For some reason, that kid's voice is getting on my nerves. Is there a way to change (or remove) it?

Has anyone found a way or App that will allow you to voice dial using a bluetooth headset. This is a basic bluetooth task yet the highly technical Droid doesn't come from Motorola with this simple function.

I was very excited to finally get visual voice mail, but unfortunately it does not work though the bluetooth headset. This really stinks and looks to be a software limitation. Is there a way to play visual voice mail through a headset? It's fairly useless and a waste of 3$ per month if not! I'd really like to try Google voice, but I am patiently waiting for my invitation.

I currently have a Jawbone II headset and just got my Droid a couple days ago. My wife keeps on saying that when she calls me that my voice is very echoy. is this a common issue w/ the Droid, or is there something I need to try to do to possibly fix this issue. Other then this, the phone is great, but because I live off my bluetooth headset this is a big issue for me.

I have a new Droid 2 running 2.3 and a Bluetooth headset (Samsung HM3500). Speech-to-text (of the sort activated by pushing the microphone button in any text-input field) does not work through the Bluetooth headset.
Oddly, after initially booting up the phone, it works through the built-in microphone. I then activate and pair my headset. Voice recognition doesn't work through the headset (or through the built-in mic). I then disable Bluetooth, turn off the headset. Voice recognition continues not to work!
I know the headset works. And when I press the headset button, it enters "voice command" mode where it asks me to "say a command." This mode works over the Bluetooth headset! Also, I tested this behavior in the Voice Recognizer of ApiDemos, and its also broken in the way described above.

Installed Google Listen to manage my podcast. It appears that some podcasts get stuck in a download loop and NEVER stop unless you kill the app.
Destroys battery life.
If you had this happen with Google Listen and found a solution please post.

Moved from an iPhone 3G. It an do more but it sure take hacking. I have a few problems but I'll start with the main one. I am absolutely annoyed by the (wired) headset button behavior. On the iPhone I used the button for three things. Phone operation (pick up when rings, hang up to end call). Stop and start (and skip to next/previous) for music and for podcasts. I absolutely cannot replicate this functionality on the N1. I tried close to a dozen podcatchers. Most worked just fine but I either had to tell then to take over the button in which case it did not work in the music player or I had to disable it in which case it worked for the music player but not the podcast app. Behavior for incoming phone calls were pretty random depending on which app I used. Some overrode the podcast and rang into the headset and allowed me to pick up with the button, some didn't and I had to scramble to get to the phone. And it is absolutely annoying to press the button expecting to pause whatever I am listening to and to get a second thing playing on top of it. Not cool. I had no intentions of developing a new hobby: unexpectedly listening to music, a podcast while trying to order food at the counter. I am waiting for the moment I'll get to try all these things while trying to pick up the phone. (I think you get the picture).
After doing some reading I am not optimistic that I'll fix this. It sounds like applications have to hijack the headset button from each other. This explains the total randomness of actions. It never is assigned to the last thing I was listening to (with priority to phone controls when needed). That would make sense.
Thinking of possible solutions (short of anything destructive to the phone), I developed a few that theoretically could work.
1, I heard of apps in which I can regain some control over what the button does. Sounds like a pain in the ass especially since I do not want to think about these things but I have not tried these yet.
2, Getting a podcatcher that downloads podcasts in the background and allows the media player to see them. This way I would never have to run the podcatcher and could do everything from the media player. So far I only messed with the defalt audio player app on the N1. When I tell the podcatcher(s) to allow the music player to see the podcasts, it usually shows up as chaos. My music directory is chaotic enough. This just does not sound like a good solution (though I admit I did not explore alternative music players and how much order they can bring to the status quo with some tweaking).
3, Theoretically speaking it sounds like if I could find an awesome integrated music player with a built in podcatcher (an app that could take care of both downloading and playing my podcasts and dealing with my music) that could work great assuming it allows the phone to take over controls inside and during incoming calls. I have not found such an app yet.
4, Anything I missed?
I am pretty much a perfectionist when it comes to this thing. We are talking about the three main functionality of my personal smartphone (closely followed by email, the browser and possibly the map which all work great). I need these things to work seamlessly and flawlessly to be happy as they worked with the iPhone. (Well, the iphone didn't have the automated podcatching capability but I was able to sync whenever I wanted so it was close enough.)

When I had my Voyager, I could use my bluetooth earpiece to talk on the phone, and also get the audio from the Navigation to come through the earpiece. I was surprised tonight that when I was using my GPS on the Droid it didn't come through my earpiece which resulted in me turning my radio down significantly so I could hear the phone.
I also have a stereo bluetooth headphones that I already paired and see the icon on the screen, but when I play a video or some music, it doesn't come through the headphones. Its still coming out of the Droid's phone speakers. Its showing that it is connected in my notifications bar too.
